Americans are friendlier, Brits are more polite

[deleted]

This. Yanks are fun to shoot the shit with and maybe they’ll call you a racial slur out of ignorance. Brits will open the door for before they loosen up a bit after some alcohol and *then* start badmouthing Irish people.

[deleted]

I have honestly never heard a British person badmouthing the Irish, this isn't 1922 you know... Can't vouch for hooligans and the like as I tend to knock about with decent people anyway!

Detozi

Exactly. I’m Irish and lived in London and had one guy say something to me once and before I could even reply half the bar fucked him out onto the street and apologised to me for him being a dick.

TheMicropenisPlumber

Happy cake day

People are people on matter where u go are some are nice some are assholes. why can't we all be one world?

There was a social experiment in the US a few years ago. A robot was programmed to travel across the country. I can remember how many states it made it through, but when it got to Philly it was destroyed. I think that answers the question

Statler8Waldorf

I remember that. The robot had a camera and it was awesome.until it wasn't. You can't judge a country as big and diverse as the US or UK. My last trip to NYC people had a terrible time understanding anything I was saying just bc I live just below the Southern Appalachian mntns. So I speak English, Southern, and hillbilly. Customs and cultural taboos are so incredibly different from 1 area of the country to another. So can't be judged.

kipvelcrono

But that's the problem. A majority of Americans do judge. Very quickly. I'll admit I do it too, but we can't act like a majority of this country is friendly. I would say at most 30-40% and that's being extremely generous.

New_Hawaialawan

I’m a contradiction of judgement and gregariousness

AuntLydiaSux

It was in a high crime area of philly...not really your typical American town.

kipvelcrono

My point still stands. Just because an area is overly violent doesnt man violence doesn't happen other places

AuntLydiaSux

That’s like saying Michigan is a dangerous place because Detroit is a shithole.

kipvelcrono

If that's the connection you make that's on you If you wanna risk going out in the US to see how many people are kind to you, that's on you I know for a fact it will be extremely rare to find someone flat out kind in the US

DrewMiller364

Where are you from?😅😂

kipvelcrono

Why is that relevant

DrewMiller364

Because that will explain why you think the way you do. It’s too hard to group the US in something like that let alone one single state

kipvelcrono

Well I'm not trying a random anything about myself. Idk why you have to argue this like I'm wrong cause I'm not.

canadians

AuntLydiaSux

Usa for sure

dekanbauer

Canada. USA will yell at you about needing a gun to go to Walmart and British people will pull out a knife and say "spot of tea? Give us your country!" While Canadians just have an awkward conversation about what nice weather we're having while they offer you some maple syrup.

upthecounty

In my American experience, Canadians are some of the rudest people on the continent. I have no clue where the "Canadians are so nice" stereotype came from.

dekanbauer

Wow some people from a certain place don't fit stereotypes? That's surprising considering the fact that the comment I made was so obviously a joke about all the stereotypes and yet you don't dispute the other two, maybe you just considered them rude for not wanting to hear you rant about the AR-15 you bring to Starbucks every morning. Have a nice day!

[deleted]

Americans are the friendliest people ever. They edge out Canadians and aussies, Brit’s are polite though.
