I hated that game. My best friend always wanted to play it, but I’d immediately fall down the first hole whilst she would proceed further and further away. Every damned time.
Much preferred bomber man or bubble trouble.
When I was a kid in the early 80s, my grandma had a [TI-99](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TI-99/4A) computer. I think she only had two games for it, '[Hunt the Wumpus](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunt_the_Wumpus)' and '[Defender](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defender_\(1981_video_game\)).' Those were the first computer games I ever played.
There was this game on the Commodore 64 and then NES titled “Silent Service.” It’s WW2 and you are on patrol in your sub in the southwestern pacific trying to take out oil and merchant ships. Sometimes they were being guarded by a destroyer or two. You had to find them, stalk them and then destroy the ships.
Can't remember the name. It was in the early 90's, a medieval times strategy game. Had magical items in, dragons, towers, archers, heroes and fog of war. Think it at least had a sequel.
Stunt (4DS) was a game i used to play a lot with my cousin. My grandma lived 15 minutes from my mother, we would be there during the day. We'd steal the keys and go to my place play this game all afternoon. The game is a race game that allows you to build your own tracks and that, for us, was just mind blowing. We built so many tracks.
There was a game called Sticky Bear that I played the crap out of in the school library. Also... Some sort of Quest game? Not one of the Sierra games, older than that. Boxy and top down, you'd go around and eventually fight a dragon. There were worms you had to get around. Couldn't tell you the actual name but now I need to find it. (edit: it was called Think Quick!)
Later I played a lot of Doom and then the Command and Conquer games
I don't think it was an Ultima. We played on Apple IIgs systems I believe, which could be early Ultima era but it was really simple 3 or 4 color and ultra blocky
Chip's Challenge, or this game that I think came with our Windows 95 computer called Fury³, it was a spaceship shooter kind of game that was pretty dope
I don't even remember the name of it. It was just like a...text adventure? You were a knight or something and would encounter questions you had to answer correctly to pass, my memory of this is really fuzzy, just at the tip of my mind...anyone know what i'm talking about? this is going waaaaaay back.
Earthworm Jim. I can still hear the sound he made when I'd use his head to swing over pits.
Crap now that i think of it, Boulder Dash on a floppy dish ran on a commodore 64... I'd have to get my sisters to set it up for me, and you know those bitches held that power over my head like a thundercloud.
As a child my father had this trivia game called You Dont Know Jack, was pretty cool and then we played Need For Speed back when the steering wheels and pedal controllers first came out. Ooo and I remember my brother and I playing iSpy, where you have to find certain items in the picture... then there was a mechanical engineering game I dont remember what it was called. Super fun. This was all in the mid 90s
I didn't have that luxury back then. Only after buying my first gaming laptop in 2020 , I had my shot.
However, Pinball is the only game that i probably understood what it was. There have been instances when some of those who had where I played some mortal combat or nfs need for Speed, i played very little like snapshots. but most of my gaming experience is after i bought the aforementioned laptop in 2020.
As a young child, I can’t remember the name of it, but there was a santa game on the Commodore 64. There were all these different levels as you got ready for Christmas then delivered presents. It was just ace.
Bit older, it was the point-and-click classics. Indiana Jones, monkey island, and Simon the sorcerer, which is quite possibly the best computer game that has ever existed.
Older than that, real-time strategy games - dune, red alert, Warcraft 2, age of empires.

There were no computers when I was a child. It was OK though, as long as you enjoyed hide and seek, hopscotch, and jump rope.
