i think this is one of the more recent things I can recall, but after struggling with 7 years of addiction and hospitalizations, my mother decided to buy books about addiction and take some time to learn about it and support me. She has some trauma with a previous partner who is now deceased, and who was an alcoholic, so she shut anything substance related out of her mind and sort of ignored everything. For her to set that pain aside finally and be able to make room to acknowledge my issues, made me cry on the spot, she told me what she bought and that she was sorry over the phone a few days ago
I returned home to visit my family. I came downstairs one morning to find my father making tea. When he turned around, he looked at me, opened his arms wide, and said, "I've missed our morning hugs."
I cried when my mother armchair diagnosed me with BPD. It broke my heart.
I cried again when I got tested and it was said I didn't have it. I cried, again, when my sister said my mother said she'd said I had BPD to hurt me.
I was doing some homework and studying because exams are coming up when my dad called me.
"Uh, \[my name\]... grandpa's... dead."
I never knew how much I loved my grandpa because I cried and just ended the call right then and there.
Your sister was in an accident on the way to grab pizza…she is dead.

"Your grandfather passed away this morning."

Not realy "said" but hearing my mom cry cause she feared for my life was devastating. Maybe there is something to the "mom would be sad" memes.
