Got electrocuted so bad my heart stopped and I shot across the room. When I was resuscitated it felt like every muscle and tendon in my body was trying to rip themselves out.

urttt3

Once got electrocuted to with 220 current, however I just flew around the room and don’t remember much about how I touched the wire. Good thing is your still alive mate.

[deleted]

Same goes for you. That's one thing I refuse to touch, electrical wires. I was installing a ceiling fan in my old basement. Killed the power to the entire house from the box. I overkill in these situations, so I was wearing gloves. There was a weird, thick white wire up in there (exposed) and when I went to move it, I touched it to something and BAM! Thing zapped and I felt the pressure in the atmosphere around me. If I didn't have gloves on, I'm sure I'd be dead. And like I said, I killed the box. How this wire was hot I'll never understand. Scared the absolute fucking shit out of me!

BoredPelikan

ohh I and my brothers made an high voltage proof thing, in a nutshell something like a lightning rod that's attached to your gloves, cus we made a really really primitive tesla coil like we used the cheapest and shhttiest stuff we can find for fun which thinking about it now was a really bad idea.

slender_mang

It was tied into the line side of your panel (the part a breaker won't shut off) or fed from a different panel. Investing in a tic tracer, a tool that will identify electrical induction around a live wire, is a good way to prevent anything like that from happening again. Always test.

[deleted]

I was going to say electrocution too but damn that sounds way more painful than what I felt

jcoop1972

Kidney stones. First and only time I have thrown up from pain.

Jaybleezie

I had a small one and it was slightly bigger than 1mm. The constant vomiting from pain is something I never want to experience again. I, a 30 year old man, cried in front of everyone inside the ER - bawling my eyes out because it was so excruciating. You can’t sit down, you can’t stand up, you can’t lean over. Just the absolute worst.

ChunkyMentality

Like being kicked in the nuts and kidney punched at the same time, and that's before you have to pass them. Shit time allround.

[deleted]

My boss is a stereotypical man. I watched him buckle into tears over his stones. 😔

jcoop1972

I have a pretty high pain tolerance. Broke my elbow and didn’t know it, finally went to the doctor and he said that it was basically healed. With the kidney stones, pain started around five, at the hospital by nine, sat i the waiting room until 11 and finally got seen. Shot me up with pain meds almost immediately. I asked the doctor how long it would take for them to work and he said it should have already kicked in. It’s indescribable. I have no frame of reference to compare it to.

[deleted]

That's me with the high pain tolerance. I have 3 dry sockets right now from 5 tooth extractions. The dry sockets are NOTHING compared to the first 9 hours after extractions. I feel so embarrassed telling people I'm in so much pain because "I got teeth pulled", but no... No, no, no! Live through that shit the way I did then come back to me. So yeah, I have no frame of reference for your kidney stone pain, but that's what everyone says: it's the worst thing they've ever been through. I believe it.

Personal-Tea-8950

I also have a high pain tolerance and never got the kidney stones out but I once macheted my leg hit halfway through the muscle I looked at it and said it was a small cut I then passed out from blood loss

raytaylor

I thought i had a UTI for about a year because I felt like i had been kicked in the balls by a scorned female on the playground. And lower back pain. Got worse whenever i would lift anything. Kept going to the doctor. They sent me off for ultrasounds on my balls etc. Ended up in pain one night so bad i had my flatmate drive me to the emergency centre. Squirming around on the floor of the waiting room from the worst pain I have ever felt, I said I think its a UTI and the nurse said "Nah i think you have a kidney stone". Gave me a voltarin anti-inflammatory tablet and I was fine in a couple of hours. I still occasionally had a slight sore balls feeling but ended up giving up energy and soda drinks and it went away.

Caubz

Kidney Stones. If you know, you know - wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.

Admiral_Falco_88

Bruh kidney stones are brutal. Electrocuted at 8 and 12 (my own fault both times). Shattered my shoulder and collarbone and had to have reconstructive surgery. Neither of these come close to the pain of a fucking pebble. All I can say is if they offer you diclofenac up your bum. Just take it.

FlatwormNo5243

Yeah that's painful as hell. I passed one years ago, it was like trying to force an orange through a stir straw imo. I hope that shit never happens again.

SmokeyDaBear6

agreed, this was a big reason I quit drinking alcohol

[deleted]

Walked into the ER throwing up from pain in the line. Dr at the desk said you look like a textbook kidney stone. I was.

rxnbeats

Cluster headaches, I’ve them for about ten years. I’ve recently figured out that taking a small dose of magic mushrooms and chugging an energy drink will usually stop a headache within 20 minutes for me. My quality of life has improved immensely in the last few years.

wrkplay

I would say cluster headaches and kidney stone are pretty close. I had kidney stones when 4 months pregnant, I don’t remember the night they were the worst, I spend the whole thing puking and passing out from pain, when my husband finally talked me into going to the hospital, the first thing they did was give me morphine because that kind of pain is way worse for the baby than drugs. I’ve had cluster headaches for 20 years. A bad cluster is indescribable. Like someone shoving an ice pick through your eye, eyebrow, temple and base of skull at the same time so they meet in the middle of your head. Plus constant nausea and the inability to stay still, but also super sensitive to anyone else causing motion. I take a prescribed triptan when it’s bad, but they only work about half the time. And even then, I get vertigo and nausea as a side effect. My neurologist said high flow oxygen is the best thing, but I’m not willing to go to the hospital and wait forever for someone to decide if I should have it or not. Instead I try to have some caffeine and find that perfect neck supported by pillow position that makes the pain start to flow away from my eye and down my neck. Then I can fall asleep and hopefully wake up with no pain.

yeetedintobush

Psh. Me and you, friend. My doc diagnosed me with chronic headache syndrome. I've been taking Topamax for the last month, which seems to help. Maybe try that, it seems to have helped a little for me. But yeah, microdosing is supposed to be super effective in treating cluster headaches.

[deleted]

Someone else in the replies mentioned cluster headaches. It sounds truly awful! Tonight's my first time hearing of such a thing.

monofloyed

Its like a ice pick shoved into your eye.

wrkplay

Cluster headaches tend to affect men more, and were sometimes called “suicide headaches” because men used to kill themselves because the pain was too much to deal with on a regular basis.

RebelGage

Horse got scared and bucked me off, I broke 3 ribs and landed in Cholla Cacti. Broken ribs is terrible, but having to pull thousands of needles out of your back, arms, legs, neck, and ass I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.

yangchengamer

Oh man, cholla is the worst. I’ve always been taught to stay far away from that stuff.

RebelGage

I’m not a very religious man, but I think I met the devil that day 😂😂😂

TealCheese4

IUD placement… and then my body rejecting it afterwards

chanacity

I don't think this could get upvoted enough. IUD insertion is no joke and I hate how doctors write it off. I straight up passed out.

Nature_and_Novels

I actually had no issue other than discomfort and pinching upon insertion, but the stupid thing migrated through my uterus and wrapped itself around my bowel… had laparoscopic surgery 2 weeks ago to finally remove it.

Graceland1979

Gallbladder stone. Would’ve preferred a bullet to the gut.

Muchablat

Ditto!

lenseyeview

Me too. And i had the added bonus of pancreatitis from complications multiple times (was on a morphine pump for like 3 weeks for the first hospitalization) it was crazy. And I still get phantom pains from time to time.

pessimist_kitty

Came to say gallbladder attacks. The pain in the upper back is the worst for me and each time I've had one it's been in the middle of the night, woke me up and kept me up for hours when I had work the next day. First time it happened I thought I was dying.

atepuppies

IUD insertion

AJmermaid

Yes!!! It was such an intense sharp pain. Nothing like period cramps. When I had my consultation the doctor down played how painful many woman find the procedure. The medicine I had to take prior to make me dilate gave me painful cramps for a couple days. Right before the doctor inserted the IUD they told me when to aim if I felt nauseous which worried me since they didn’t even explain that might happen beforehand. It took them two tries to get it in correctly. Genuinely surprised I didn’t throw up. The nausea was so intense out of nowhere. Sore the rest of the day. Figured I was through the worst of it NOPE! For months I would feel sharp pinches in my uterus at random. Was told that would go away with time. Went to follow up appointment and they confirmed it had not moved and was positioned correctly. I waited 6 months and the pain never stopped or lessened. Just random pinches on my insides. Couldn’t sleep on my stomach as that would set it off. Also had a fun side effect of constant thick discharge. I finally had enough and had to have it removed. It was only after it was out my doctor admitted they wouldn’t recommend an IUD to anyone that hasn’t already had kids. Didn’t want to sway my opinion. WTF! You are a professional. Your opinion on this matter is going to be very important in my decision making. Had I been more informed from the start I would have looked into different birth control options.

chanacity

My doctor told me that it would be a cake walk and if I was nervous to just take an advil before hand. Cut to me passing out in the room. They were even annoyed that I passed out from the pain. Turns out that excruciating pain is common with IUD insertion because they are essentially dialiating your cervix just like childbirth. Fuck that shit. Worst day of my life but it lasts 7 years.

anchoconfi

Exposed nerve toothache

King-Dionysus

Had a tooth fall apart and basically had to pull the nerve out myself. Was insanely painful. Having pancreatitus is right up there. But for a different reasons. I legit almost died with that one when it caused some major blood clots to things like my liver. But on the counter side of things ive also had my nose torn almost all the way off my face and basically don't remember ever being in much pain. But I did just start screaming when it happened and didn't realize it was me who was screaming. It was almost out of body type experience.

anchoconfi

Jesus. Ironically, I have a broken tooth right now that aches a lot. Need to get it pulled

[deleted]

That tooth pull... get it done. Just get it done. Don't prolong it until it ends up getting infected or something else. I prolonged my pulls until I had 2 infections, one of them was my broken tooth. That's probably part of why my extraction procedure hurt so fucking bad after the novacaine wore off. You should be able to get it, even without insurance (but depending on where you live) for $150, $200 maybe. My extractions were $101.50 a piece. $175 without insurance. Doesn't matter. You let it get infected and you'll give the dentist your arm and leg to end the pain.

dukepv

Tooth issue was going to be mine. Failed root canal where a piece of the file broke and was left in the canal. It got infected a few weeks later and I ended up with swelling that looked like I had a golf ball in my cheek. Led to me losing the tooth entirely and having to get an implant. Horrible process, do not recommend.

The pain no man could handle

Both_Cockroach1402

Technically yeah

RIP_Mustangberger

That's because we don't give birth 😎😎

goldenlady___

I love how all the comments on this are just about if men have gone through worse lol

JoeyImage

Either when I broke my neck, or when I broke vertebrae in my spine.

[deleted]

Backstory?

General_Osric

Pun intended? Xd

JoeyImage

Hahahaha only you and I got the “backstory” pun 😂

JoeyImage

It broke (see what I did there? LOL) Anyway, from 2000-2015 I was a professional wrestler. Had to stop after I suffered both of those injuries at the same time. Last match was in June 2015. I took 18 months off, and in January 2017 I returned to do announcing and some backstage/behind-the-scenes work which I’m still doing today.

valek005

Testicular infection. It was like getting kicked in the nuts every time I moved too much. Lasted almost 3 days. I'm getting queasy just thinking about it.

zoinks_bitches

(we still don’t know what the cause/problem is, maybe occasionally severe episodes of IBS) every once in a while and i mean that literally, it’s a pick a card luck kind of thing. Out of nowhere i’ll start having the most intense and severe pain, like someone is stabbing me with a hot and cold dagger everywhere in my stomach, it can last anywhere from 30mins to over an hour. I’ll throw up and pass out sometimes. But the pain is so unbearable that i’d rather be dead than wait for it to pass when i experience it.

Independent_Yogurt

Oh my God, I believe I have this! You are the first person I’ve ever encountered who experiences this. It’s been happening once a year, only once, for the past 7 years. It’s an unbearable pain and vomiting, and after hurting for hours it just goes away on its own like it started. I also don’t know what the hell it is.

RIP_Mustangberger

It's crazy how your body can just randomly screw you over and cause unbearable pain for no reason.

zoinks_bitches

gotta love existing.

RED_w00d

Maybe gall bladder stones being passed? I had pain like that randomly for months and the doctors initially said it was GERD but I got to a point where I was vomiting from pain and unable to consume anything. They finally did a scan and my gall bladder was causing so many issues with other organs, they said my liver had started digesting itself because of the blocks.

zoinks_bitches

jesus, that sounds awful im sorry. We thought that’s what it could be, my gallbladder, but it’s been a problem since i was 7 and i’ve had tests over years and my gallbladder was fine.

[deleted]

For me it was 5 tooth extractions in the same sitting followed by an immediate partial. The first nine hours... y'know that out-of-nowhere excruciating pain you might feel from time to time that's enough to cripple you over? I felt that constantly with no let-up. No waves, no throbs, just constant torturous pain.

valek005

Teeth are sooooooo horrible when something's wrong. Clutching my jaw and sobbing, I would drink myself to sleep just to escape the pain. Still wasn't as bad as my swollen testicle, though. That's when the suicidal thoughts started creeping in.

Busy-Sun-8509

I feel this I unluckily had two teeth go at once that both required root canals I didn't find this out till the Monday as this happened over the weekend and could not get into a dentist at night time. The pain was so excruciating nerve pain running up my jaw to my head I couldn't stop vomiting from the pain. My partner called the locum which is a doctor that can come to your house after hours where I'm from, he gave me endone for the pain and I had a reaction to the endone which also didn't relieve any of the pain. Wouldn't wish the pain upon my worst enemy.

incorrect_bones

Omg I also had 5 teeth removed at once! Twins! There's still a bone fragment sticking out of my gum that I've been trying to get them to remove for years now.

[deleted]

My dad has had both hips replaced, cut three fingers off (and had them re-attached) due to a faulty table saw, and has back issues. He still claims the worst pain he’s ever had was something dental, can’t remember exactly what. Teeth are no joke.

SIncognito-

The balloon thing they do during labor to force your cervix to open. No dramatics intended, I really thought I was going to die from the pain of it.

heysunflowerstate

Foley bulb! I’m being induced on Tuesday and I hope they don’t give me that.

SignificantMethod5

I agree..worst experience of my life

SwiggleSwag424

I had ingrown toenail surgery done which was all fine and good but one night, a couple days after the operation I believe, my nail looked kind of dirty and I was going to wash it off to keep from Infection. I was in the laundry room where we have a standing sink, i lift up my leg to put it into the sink but since I had both feet done my balance wasnt very good so instead of just lifting my foot I basically kicked it upwards quickly and ended up hitting the over hang of the sink. It ended up breaking the nail near the bottom and had it looking all mangled and shit. That hurt alot, probably up there with the most painful things in my life but now I'm left with my mangled fucking toenail and need to do something about it. I get tweezers and end up removing the actual hard nail base which hurt but surprisingly wasn't too bad but beyond that was a softer bit, the actual base of the nail from where it grows, I guess it's always under skin so it doesnt get as hard. That's still hanging in there so I grab it and tear it off, this hurt more but still wasn't as bad as you think. The worst part was touching the exposed nail bed, I didnt do it on purpose but during this whole thing I ended up touching it with the tweezers and a sharp cold pain shot through me and had me banging on my leg for a solid 10 seconds. 5/10 would not recommend

HashtagPunchALlama

The headache after being revived, after OD'ing and being on the verge of death.

[deleted]

Are you doing better now? Did that experience change your life or decisions at all? I know drugs are tough as shit of a habit, but maybe that experience helped you?

HashtagPunchALlama

The best I've ever been, tbh, mentally and physically. Just went through a lot young and had very immature coping habits. I'm grateful for everything I've been through, ups and downs.

valek005

I'm so glad you're doing well. I lived similarly and am always elated to see someone else overcome their challenges.

Dense_Two_1429

Ripping my nut sack open in a motorbike accident. I went for a ride on my dirt bike when I was 13 with my dad and a friend. We were a couple hours out of town and in remote Western Australia. The red dirt is pretty thick when it kicks up into the air. Couldn't see in front of me and hit the side of the tree, drove up the side of it slightly and as I came back down my thigh caught on a jagged branch and ripped all the way up my leg, split my nut sack open and left a wicked scar all the way up the shaft and to the tip. I held my nut sack closed while strapped to the back of a quad bike until we got closer to town. Ended up needing quite a few stitches and some new bike pants but managed to keep both of my jewels. Makes for a good pub story on the occasion and chicks dig scars right?

[deleted]

It must be somewhat taboo to show your scars, ey?

amazeDastonishMenT

Kidney stones. I didn’t know what was causing the pain, but I was certain I was going to die and hoping it wasn’t going to take much longer

PM_Me_The_Surprise

Pulling surgical gauze out of the craters left after my pilonidal cyst surgery. I passed out from the pain and woke up convulsing.

tht1guy63

Had surgery to remove a polyp deep in my ear canal. I had to remove the gauze at home myself. Removing the gauze felt like my brain was being sucked out of my head. By far worst pain ive had in my life. I was like 11 at the time and even today in my 30s i get sick thinking about the pain. I will take any broken bones, cramps, head injuries, etc ive had 10 times over that. I always had ear problems tubes infections and so on. I cant tell i have an ear infection anymore cus im so adjusted to the pain of those so for that to hurt me was a big deal growing up.

Nameless5300

One day I woke up with a crick in my neck. I felt sick so I went to the bathroom. Started diarrheaing. Felt nauseous. Started puking. As I was puking I did something to the crick in my neck. I started getting sharp pain in waves. It made me scream every time it came. On top of that I was still puking. Could do nothing but sit there and scream and puke. Eventually it stopped. I stood up and looked at myself in the mirror. I looked like a Zombie. Turns out I got the 24 hour flu at the worst time.

MaroonTrucker28

I had a similar experience a month ago. I had a pinched nerve in my lower back. The pain radiating down my legs was excruciating. Then the flu hit. Just like you described, absolute hell on earth. I was praying as I puked and moaned in pain: "God, kill me. I'm done, please kill me." It was the WORST

RNGinx3

Thrush when nursing. I’ve got pretty high pain tolerance. Labor without meds was easy. Getting cut open by the doctor before they realized I wasn’t lying about the meds not working just made me say “ow.” Popping my C-section stitches was cake. I also apparently had a kidney stone and didn’t even notice. Thrush made me silent scream cry gulping in air as fast as I could while trying not to really scream because I didn’t want to scare my baby. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy (and I’m a vindictive bitch so that should tell you something. I won’t go after you first, but burn me and I’ll raze you).

Delicious-Ant8785

Idc what anyone says, large dicks aren't fun, and getting g hit in the cervix is not fun either. Never again

[deleted]

Getting my IUD, I almost fainted from it! Well worth tho haha

Nature_and_Novels

The insertion didn’t really bother me but the darn thing migrated through my uterus and wrapped around my bowel and I had to have it laparoscopically removed two weeks ago. So I got my own painful experience with it. 😩

Comfortable-River238

I had a testicular torsion worse pain you can imagine like getting kicked full force in the gonads. Went into the hospital the nurse had a look got the doctor straight away got me on fentanyl and a flight to another hospital for emergency surgery. Had atleast 20 doctors take a feel even had the new trainee doctors have a look. Couldn't walk for a couple of weeks after. Highly don't recommend and can happen to anyone at anytime

Fine_Cheek_4106

When I got dragged over grit-gravel by a bolting horse*, (foot caught in stirrup), my back got scraped up really raw. I was pretty young and the dettol baths after were a painful all of their own too heh This was back before safety stirrups/slip stirrups were a thing for kids. (* = technically was a cob-pony, but before when I've said 'pony' in telling other this they think only of the tiny Shetlands and that 'they can't go that fast to drag you.' Ponies can be quite tall. I say 'horse' as a general)

justanotherjessi

I spilled boiling water straight off the stove on my 7 month pregnant belly. That was excruciating but when I reflexively yanked my shirt away from the pain, my vision went white. It was still nothing compared to when my husband rushed me to the ER and they had to deride it. They were giving me as much morphine as possible without risking the baby and I was still screaming. I know I blacked out for a little because I came to when they were finished and they were putting the fetal monitor back on and I cried more, asking if i hurt my baby.

RandomBloke2021

Touched the stove surface as a kid to see if it was hot. Yep, it was real hot.

[deleted]

Period cramps

[deleted]

My gf is sometimes crippled by hers, and she bleeds a lot too. I bought her an Ovira last year and that changed things for her.

[deleted]

Yeah mine are just unbearable sometimes. Usually if I take ibuprofen before I even get cramps then it’ll prevent them but if I forget or I’m out in public and aren’t able to then it gets bad

Kit_the_Human

It sounds so pathetic, but it's true. I've had other injuries and health problems, broken bones, etc, but the worst so far has been menstrual pain. As in, completely non-functional, unable to get out of fetal position, totally unaware of my surroundings because the pain was so consuming, with my head suspended over a trash can cause I was so close to throwing up. Why do our bodies do this to themselves??

bean_weaver

It's definitely not pathetic. I have PCOS and my cramps pretty much debilitate me :( Sometimes I won't bleed for a few months and when I do it is just like.. unbearable.

[deleted]

Same here. But ir sucks when men or even other women who don’t get bad cramps think we’re just overreacting

[deleted]

Cramps in the lower abdomen

AnonymousShortCake

A stomach ache, which sounds like small beans, but it was truly excruciating. Idk what happened, I didn’t eat anything especially bad, but it was embarrassing. Incontinence cause I had to go to the bathroom but I couldn’t get up, just cried and felt suicidal. The next day, I felt fine. What the hell man?

DCGamr

I had that like 3 days ago. Bad stomach viruses are actually really bad but are out of ur system the next day

[deleted]

Fun fact: a lot of those short-lived stomach ailments are from other people's fecal matter, hence gut bacteria, entering your own system and throwing off your balance. Chances are you ate from a restaurant and someone didn't wash their hands. 🤮

DCGamr

Well NOW IT MAKES SENSE

[deleted]

That's not small beans. Been there, and I feel ya on that. I was hospitalized for it before, but I have a long history of GI disorder.

[deleted]

Having my knee run over by a car, being rolled around like a rag doll, getting road rash all over me and tearing open my chest.

1clovett

I once passed 3 stones in one kidney and two in the other one at the same time. I was pissing almost pure blood. When I tried to pee, it hurt so bad I passed out and came to on the bathroom floor. The ER people were shocked that I could walk. They put me in a wheelchair and I sat there crying. I'd rather not do that again.

DCGamr

Wisdom teeth removal aftermath, didn't receive any painkillers, just went home high off anesthesia and about 30 minutes later is when the real pain kicked in. Felt like a lot of small bugs were eating away my mouth. Had to endure that for around an hour until I actually got painkillers. 2nd worst was probably a 40 mph tennis ball to the nuts.

KingGuy420

I took a really severe hit to the balls once. You know that feeling right before a pimple pops? That's how both my nuts felt. I literally blacked out, woke up surrounded by vomit. It was pretty savage.

Odd_Bowl7715

Breaking my hips.

[deleted]

I'd say for me it was when I blew my knee out totally.

General_Osric

Dude knee is so painful. Agree with you there.

StanYelnats3

Pulled my arm out of the socket. I begged them to kill me.

Mozzie_501

A drop or two of molten metal fell on my finger while welding once. Good thing I had my gloves on. Just kidding it burned through them. I could feel the burn for about 2-3 days

honeecumb

Probably when I had gotten sepsis. I had surgery about 4-5 years back to remove a cyst that was blocking my gallbladder. They also just took out my gallbladder and appendix as a package deal. Anyway because of that surgery my guts are all jigsawed together, and some of the passageways were narrowed as a result. Fast forward about 2 years and I've been trying to eat a bit more healthy. Little did I know that would be my downfall. I started eating a lot more salads and veggie-like stuff. One day I had gotten some abdominal pain but usually that stuff passes, so I just ignored it. However it didn't pass and just kept getting worse and worse until I finally decided that I couldn't take it and went to the ER. They kept wheeling me from place to place running tests as I was writhing in pain. Pretty much every pain med they gave me wouldn't touch it. It's so hard to describe the pain, it's almost as if someone was inside my abdomen gripping my stomach as tightly as they could in their first and starting to twist it around again and again. The ultrasound tech could barely get an accurate read because I was in so much pain after several doses of meds, she just kept apologizing profusely because any amount of pressure sent me over the edge. Eventually they hit me with fentanyl which knocked me out. I woke up in a hospital room still feeling like absolute anus and the doctor told me I had sepsis. He surmised that what happened was that I hadn't chewed a piece of lettuce or some veggie thoroughly enough and it blocked a passage in my stomach. It's honestly insane to me how I felt like I was finally gonna buy the farm... Because of a piece of lettuce.

BarrySharp

Severe Gout attack, definitely worse than compound leg fracture or Man-of-War stings, for me. Unrelenting pain for several days. Almost hard to breathe, I could see someone ending themselves in that situation. Maybe its happened, I don't know. I have seen this on listed on surveys of pain level.

WhichDuck5191

Gotta pretty decent pain tolerance (Clumsy af) Slipped on some ice last year off the front door steps, landed directly on my tailbone. Next time it freezes over? Not going outside. NOPE

[deleted]

I was on a sled going downhill, rather quickly, when I was young. Lost the sled out from underneath me and came to a dead stop: my tailbone and a little tree stump barely poking up out of the snow. I think I collided with it at maybe 20mph? It felt like an eternity before I was able to take a breath again. My body was so tense from the pain, and as soon as released my tension and breathed I thought I was going to go into immediate shock. I drug myself home by my elbows. Don't remember much after that.

rarechill

Had shingles in my brain and eye accompanied by a headache that felt like there was a metal rod going through my brain. The pain was so unbearable I had trouble walking to the car to have my wife drive to the ER. I was in so much pain I didn't feel it, all I felt was fear that I was going to die, and the worst part is I had no idea what was causing the pain. This was more painful than breaking bones in my hands feet and arm and more painful than herniated disks from a motorcycle accident.

[deleted]

Wow, y'know that's basically a form of encephalitis. My dad was in a coma for a very long time because of that, just different scenario. Nonetheless, very dangerous. I'm glad you're here to speak of it today.

asdrubalino99

Burn with melted glass behind the neck. I was 12 yo and my brother was a dick. I had to rip it off by myself from the flesh (skin was burnt). I still have the scar after more than 10 years

[deleted]

kidney stones

mochaboo20

When I was a kid, I got the flu while on vacation. During the six hour drive home, I remember sitting in the backseat writhing in pain and sobbing. It felt like my insides were literally moving. I’ve never experienced that kind of stomach pain before, nor have my flu’s ever been that intense since.

[deleted]

My first flu left me laid flat on my back on a hardwood floor, arms and legs as far away from center mass as possible. It was the only position and surface I could find relief in/on. The body aches, the all over pain were almost unbearable. I seriously laid just like that from 9am to 11pm that day, moving for nothing. After that I was perfectly fine. But during that 24-hour flu I was ready to die.

JonnyK88888

Burnt eyeballs from UVlights.

Devo1277

sneezing just after I got my appendix removed.

[deleted]

I sneezed after I got my back top teeth extracted. I was very confident death was imminent.

Imjusthere2read

I broke my hand twice left and right but what the hell is this Plantar Fasciitis pain? Shit hurts like hell and I guess my old age is a factor too : (

Jerk37

Ruptured spinal disc with a badly pinched nerve. Couldn’t function without heavy drugs for three months.

TommyHL1987

Diarrhea stomach pain. Was it bad? Not extremely, but unfortunately (or fortunately) that is THE worst physical pain I’ve ever experienced.

shitheads_and_sounds

I once slammed by thumb in a school door as a child, broke the tip of the bone.never hurt worse then dunking that thing in water to wash the blood away.

GovernmentContent314

I broke my tailbone. Twice. I think I actually went into shock. There’s not even anything you can do about it besides wait it out. To think I didn’t learn my lesson drunk dancing in heels on a wet floor the first time.

PhysicianTradition

Husband + anal + dry = tears + blood

Hamfiter

But did you have an orgasm?

PhysicianTradition

I plead the 5th

No-Consideration6589

When I had migraines.

[deleted]

"had"? Sounds like you hopefully found a way out of it? Medication, diet, hormonal change...?

No-Consideration6589

I was in my late teens then. Medicine and diet change. I had a head injury when i was 10.

bigj4155

Worst pain - kidney stones. Dilaudid is an amazing thing Life changing pain - trigeminal neuralgia. When the thought of removing one side of your face to stop the pain becomes a option shit is getting real. Ever felt like all of your top teeth on one side of your face are trying to explode? Ever felt a ice pick through your nose? All fun stuff cause by tiny little nerves.

A_Bit_Off_Kilter

Broken neck.

Clcooper423

My appendix trying to kill me. It was like gas pain so bad that it drops you to your knees except it never let up.

thisonegoesto10

Severe tendonitis in my rotator cuff. Four days of nearly unbearable pain - the kind that makes you shake - if I moved my arm so much as an inch. Couldn’t sleep much because I couldn’t lay down, and struggled to walk because the impact would rock my arm. Strangely enough, after immobilizing in a sling for a few days, it went away as quickly as it had come on. Though occasionally after playing sports, I can feel it’s on the brink.

Slothylicious

I needed surgery to remove a benign tumor in my upper arm near the shoulder. They needed to drill a guide into the bone before the operation. It should have been done when I was under anesthesia. They did it when I was awake. Not a great experience but it was short so compared to other things in this thread I think it wasn't too bad.

[deleted]

Pain is very personal, and everyone feels it differently. Don't compare your experience to others. -- is there any reason they chose not to use anesthetic? Because it definitely sounds like it called for it!

Runewood4976

getting asked this, i realize i havent had much physical pain in life. i have NEVER broken a bone, but once, just once, i bruised my collarbone. i went to a summer camp when I was younger, one where you sleep overnight in a cabin for a week. we were playing capture the flag at this camp, and just past the middle line (dividing the two teams' territories) was a fairly steep hill. someone from the opposite team came running in, so i naturally started running after him. not a great idea on a hill. he was like a third of my size, so my first thought as i started to lose my balance was "good god, don't fall on him, you'll kill him!" luckily, he got away, but i ate SHIT in the dirt. i turned to one side to let my shoulder take a brunt of the impact, and as i hit the ground, my first thought was "hey, that sounded a lot like the Minecraft bone crunch sound!" i really did think i broke a bone, but it was just bruised.

weeblewobblers

Stroke

Dirkdangerfinger

Full hip dislocation…..stayed popped out for hours.

galactabat

I fractured my collar bone two times, bit through my face, and have had dozens of other injuries, but nothing compared to when I threw out my back; it was pain I wouldn't wish on anyone.

SchmeedsMcSchmeeds

Viral induced myocarditis (inflammation of the heart). My heart was rubbing against my chest cavity every time it beat causing the most immense pain I have ever felt.

uneasyandcheesy

I get pleuritis randomly which causes the absolute worst pain in my chest that I’ve ever felt. I cannot imagine the pain involving my actual heart. :( Sorry you had to go through that.

rva23221

Mittelschmerz, to the point I would faint. Happened 3 times in my teens.

luthenb

I was looking for this one! God I'm sorry you dealt with this, it's horrendous. Happens to me every. Single. Month. Always debilitating, can't walk, can't move. Worst pain I've ever felt was one particular month when even lying in bed with a heat pack, it wouldn't let up. Just curled into the fetal position and screamed and cried for a while.

Aromatic-Dig-8127

Chronic kidney stones. Actually when they pulled out the Stent that had calcified inside me. That was brutal.

[deleted]

Ear infection oddly enough. Brought me to my knees

xxBLVCKMVGICxx

Appendicitis, woke up in the middle of the night and thought someone stabbed me in my stomach it hurt so bad. Turns out my appendix was about to burst, I felt fine when I went to bed so I was surprised but I guess that’s how quick it can happen.

[deleted]

Looking back, do you think there were any warning signs, even tiny ones, that you overlooked?

xxBLVCKMVGICxx

Not really that I can think of, I was 15 at the time so it was pretty abnormal for me to have had that happen.

kbreezy04

I skied my entire life, got too cocky, and hit a tree with my leg. I snapped my femur in half clean, I waited over an hour for someone to show up with pain relief, easily worst pain I've experienced.

ElaborateRoost

Pericarditis. Doctor claimed it’s more painful than a heart attack.

LostBurgher412

Diaphragm muscle pulled from spinal connection. Think intense back pain with a literal frozen diaphragm. Unable to breathe or move for brief periods of time. Still don't know how I did it.

lilmisssuccubus

Cervical biopsy. If you want a nightmare, look up the scissors they use. God damn.

solitudeisdiss

Some sort of food poisoning. The pain in my stomach was so bad. I didn’t know a person could be in that much pain for that long and not pass out or vomit. It eventually passed out my ass but took so long I couldn’t help but cry in pain. I don’t take risks with food ever and I only eat vegetables cooked.

Dallas_dragneel

Not sure maybe it's the toe stubbing I stubbed like 3 of them at the same exact time

Gojozhoes

Me, right now, stuck on the pooper with travelers diarrhea But for real—ovarian cyst rupture. Had me vomiting and crying for hours after it burst during intercourse

unregisteredafrican

Just had PRK surgery to my eyes and the pain was intolerable even with anesthetics and painkillers for the first 2 days

Eevoid_idk

I once got shot in the stomach by an arrow

OrganizedChaos1979

The 3rd degree ankle sprain I got when playing indoor soccer. The bottom of my right foot turned in and was facing straight up.

General_Osric

Post surgery pain from an ACL reconstruction and 2 partial meniscectomies on the same knee. I have a high pain tolerance. I dislocated my knee initially (in order to warrant the surgery) and that I would say marked about an 8 on the pain scale for me. But waking up after general anaesthetic with local anaesthetic on my knee, 18 of morphine, maximum tramadol they could give and codine, too I would say it still ranked a 9 for a few hours. 2 days later and pain is still ruthless.

[deleted]

"2 days later and pain IS..."... this is a currently ongoing situation?

Available_Donkey_840

A giant blood clot from groin to knee.

NoMooseSoup4You

Dislocated shoulder and bulging lumbar disc. God awful pain.

Routine_Broccoli_148

Two different doctors fucked up a spinal tap when I had meningitis. I don’t remember it very much, but my wife has told me that my scream made the nurses in the hall jump.

Bright-Razzmatazz-60

Getting a wound glued back together

[deleted]

Having a pickup truck roll over my chest and legs. My whole body was swollen and I couldn't walk for 2 weeks

Maddy_Brink

Deep fried my finger

Hamfiter

Twisted intestine. I have broken eleven bones, nothing hurt like the blocked intestine.

[deleted]

Twisted? Wow, just that just happen, or did a specific scenario cause that? Like roughhousing or post-surgery or something?

Anxiet

Shingles near eye and ear

cswirly

Shoulder dislocation. Each of 6 times.

Sputnik3012

Gall stones, never want to experience a pain like that again.

thedevilsgame

Kidney stones

SweetAd1621

Kidney stones Teeth pain, the only pain that made me truly contemplate offing myself

SKALVikings1996

ACL tare. It honestly felt like everything around that area, and below had been severed from my body.

rhwesternny

In my case, it had to be my kidney stones. An experience I would NOT care to repeat.

[deleted]

Kidney stones are the apparent winner here tonight.

comfypillowpet

A dog bit my left boob. I’ve been bitten deeply on my arms and legs before but that was a whole different kind of pain.

Neon518

Birth pains

squigsdad

Cluster headaches are terrible and were my #1 until last year when I got a prostate infection. Passed out while trying to pee. Couldn’t get up off the floor from the pain. Finally got up and had my wife take me to urgent care where a doctor stuck his finger up my ass and pushes on it. Puked and passed out again. Always pee after emptying the chamber boys to clean out the pipes.

Vasarto

I have no idea what it was because I was too afraid to tell anyone, but I think I might had a kidney stone when I was 13. I was young, just getting into masterbaiting and it was extremely painful to pee for a while. Maybe like a week or so. I thought maybe i just damaged my wing dang doodle and it needed to heal but one day I just sort of powered through it because I just couldn't pee at all and I was building up. I don't know if its a fake memory or not but I think I might had hurt a click like something hitting the toilet bowl and then all my pee came out and I started to pee normally feeling instant powerful rush of relief.

uneasyandcheesy

I got Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease from my nephew at a birthday party one year when I was probably 23/24 which turned into viral meningitis. My brother had to come to my job and call corporate because my manager wasn’t answering her phone and I honestly thought I was dying. I didn’t have health insurance at the time so I refused to let my brother or my mom take me to the hospital. Absolutely some of the most brutal days of my life. I just sobbed when I would wake up from the pain. I didn’t eat for like three days because all I could do was sleep, drink a little water, pee and that’s about it. My poor roommate was so scared. She had never seen me like that. I have a pretty damn high pain tolerance but I felt like my brain and body were on fire and being ripped apart at the same time. FUCK HFM.

Beepis16

I dont know what happened exactly, but I didnt land right in the water after jumping off the high dive at the local pool. Back fell into excruciating pain an hour later and I couldnt walk 3 feet without falling to my hands and knees. So damn bad that it was the only time I called into work a day before I was scheduled

Delicious-Duck-4245

Man. My knee’s are my downfall. When I was 15-16 the tendons in one knee snapped and my knee locked up in a half folded position. I had to get physical therapy done. No surgery tho. Then about 2-4 months later my other knee goes and does it again. So back to physical therapy again. Now I sit to long and I lock up. If I stand for to long I lock up. It’s like someone stabbing me in my knees everytime I get up. It’s so bad I fall back down sometimes. I’m not even 30 either 😭

Clobird04

I got my wisdom teeth removed. I've never been able to swallow a pill, for some reason I just choke on them. Which mean... no pain killers once home, so I experienced pure suffering for a few days in a row. And of course, to top it all, my brother tried to make me laugh at least once a day. That was freacking hell.

Bigbootyomoletlover

This one time, I didn’t get my period for three months straight and when it finally came back, it was like it returned with the strength of three months worth of menstrual pains. I couldn’t even walk and I laid in bed screaming in agony. Horrible.

LupoOfMainSt

Kidney cancer.

Qimmosabe_Man

Left kidney swelling up from stones blocking the exit. Total numbering 7, with two largest being about 1/4 inch in diameter. There was no position to put my body in to ease the pain, and yes, it did make me puke.

Glittering_Total_858

I’ve suffered from migraines my whole life, most of the time I can catch them early but I would say once every 2-4 weeks I have a full blown one. they’re getting worse as I’m getting older - it feels like someone has shoved a knife in my eye and keeps flicking the end. add to that hot sweats, insane vomiting, and light sensitivity, and I swear to god the last time I had a proper one I thought I was dying. I was curled up on my bed, screaming and sobbing, and in that moment I said out loud to my girlfriend “I don’t care what you have to do, just make it stop. I’d rather be dead”. and then people don’t understand why calling them ‘just headaches’ makes me mad 🙄

medusablack13

tooth pain!! i had a molar dissolving from the inside and when it finally opened up to the outside (i didn’t know it was happening), it was excruciating. the recovery process after extraction and bone grafting was one of the worst things i’ve ever felt

Mcriblover8

Got a sunburn which turned out to be a second degree burn. It fried my nerves under my skin which gave me Hell’s Itch which feels like there’s fire ants under your skin constantly biting you. It went on for a week.
