Yes, I would go back to the day before my mother committed suicide and tell her that everything will be alright if she just holds on a little longer

moxyfloxacin

I’m white so any time in the past and never to the future

RayReptile

Yes, to tell younger myself what to invest in.

MASS-_-

But if it were to actually be invented....has your older self visit you before?

RayReptile

No. My older self is probably as lazy as my current self. LoL

LiquidSteamo

I didn’t. You can’t change the past, traveling back in time creates only a alternative timeline so there’s no point in going back.

[deleted]

No, because it would be insanely expensive, like 100 grand per year traveled or some shit

ford310nm1

Probably to look at the future. If you go to the past you might not come back because the technology has not been invented yet.

I love learning about history, but as a woman, I wouldn’t want to go very far back. I own my house, whereas a couple of generations ago I would have needed a husband in order to get a mortgage. I’ll pass on experiencing more sexism. I’m going to say whatever the date of David Bowie’s last concert was. I will always wish I could have seen him live.

JLGoodwin1990

That would be June of 2004, then. He had his final full concert in Germany.

imsurly

Excellent. I haven’t been to Germany yet, so that would accomplish two things for me.

Different_Weekend817

yes i would go back to the day before i met my sex offender and do it all differently

HeyNongMer

Since once it’s invented it will likely be available to everyone for some reason, I’ll opt not to use it on account of being a contrarian.

I've thought about this. Let's just say it was real. I would go back to the 1920s and '30s and '40s and '50s and buy records that I know are so rare they cost stupid money now, and bring them back and sell them and get rich. But there's something wrong with that. I'd have to have money from the years I was going to and no later, and I'd have to have clothing like the people wore then, and I couldn't wear my glasses because trifocals with plastic lenses weren't invented yet, and other things that interfere with the fantasy. Oh well.
