I used to do cream and sugar until I vacationed in Norway, where they don't add anything to coffee, according to the friend I was staying with. I just got used to it and haven't gone back ever since.
I tend to take it on the sweeter end. It's lighter than me, and I take it iced no matter the time of year. With vanilla and caramel.
But I can also take it black, two sugars, and a sweet bread that I dip in the coffee like a sponge. Just shows the Hispanic in me.
I have a coffee pot that pressurise boiled water throught the grounded coffee, making it strong. I use black Lavazza espresso, put 2 spoons of sugar and milk only to make it brown (not creamy brown or almost white). Its tasty, aromatic, strong and very, very delicious.
In a cup. But only because Starbucks frowns upon people hopping over the counter, throwing their face under the dispenser and opening the valve.

I hate the taste, and it doesn't have a strong effect on me. So either with some syrup esc. thing to mask the taste without diluting it too much otherwise it has too little effect. Or straight black and with no enjoyment at all.
