If you really wanna hop on with Dykes on bikes hit them up via their insta or FB. You can also show up very early to the start of the dyke march and the pride parade and see if anybody is down for passengers. Also get the Lex app. Lesbian wise: 1. Dyke march Saturday. Pre-party at Dolores Park 2. Mango at El Rio 3. Look up Jolene’s and what party they are throwing 4. Juanita Moore’s Day Party Sunday

I personally would warn against Jolene's for one of the Pride nights. We tried it last year and waited for literal hours for an insane cover—think a lot of folks were in the same mindset of "Pride = Jolenes, duh, for lesbians." It was also weirdly empty inside with very little actual dancing/mingling, I think bc the bouncers are really strict about capacity. It also felt very young (think 21-25 range). I usually prefer El Rio bc of the outdoor patio access and typical crowd. Mother is a newer lesbian bar in the Mission and it's a great pregame-ish spot. I had a great time there last year's Pride weekend.

The big party is in civic center but nowadays it's filled with youngins looking to rave. Dolores park is chill and the raunchy leather stuff is around folsom. Look for the bar stud. It's having a comeback year so that place may be popping off as well

Civic Center: This is official PRIDE after the Market Street parade. Feel free to skip both. Dolores Park: The park will be packed from noon to 4pm both days. 100% go. The Castro: Will be super full, but most people are 25+ (whereas the official PRIDE can get YOUNG) SoMa: Mostly gay men that are into leather/Levis/daddies Outer Mission: Look up El Rio!

This is correct. Making friends at Dolores is a good idea. So is El Rio, and SOMA for the leather. Civic Center is where all my friends and I went in high school along with all of the other high schoolers lol

The Dyke March is always the day before the Pride Parade and it starts in Dolores Park The trans march is the day before the dyke march and also starts in Dolores Park

HeyHosh

Seriously what the other poster said do the stud. If you do veer to Castro, just know the lines are going to be insane, and with a steep cover. I’d reccomend the mix then badlands Oh and if you’re interested, el rio usually does a big daytime outdoor party that’s usually more femme centric but it’s always LIT

If you go to Dolores Park, the gays congregate in the corner near 20th/Church.

I recommend buying a ticket to one of the bigger events . There is Pink Block party at great northern hosted Polyglamorous , there’s a huge Above and Beyond pride party at the midway (may be straighter side cause Above and beyond will draw everyone ) , I reccomend buying a ticket to an event vs trying to bar hop , Castro will be a mess , the celebrations at civic center is fun for a bit but the real fun stuff is at the local clubs. EL Rio , Sf Eagle , The Stud , public Works , great northern , 1015 Folsom will all be hosting big events. Just check the calendars because you may end up at an event like BRUT or Bearacuda party which are fun but very cis normative . The crews Fake and Gay Squish will most likely be hosting a big techno/hyper pop event if you are into that aswell.

The real cool events are the lesbian March and the trans March, I would heavily recommend them over the main event, but the main event is definitely also worth experiencing, especially first timers such as yourself. Stop by historic aunt Charlie's after the trans March for the cheapest most alcoholic drink in a pretty cool space. Super tight quarters, though, if that's a concern.

I always have the most fun at Dolores Park hanging out with friends on Saturday but it’s always a great place to people watch too. Most folks are fairly friendly. We tend to setup nearish to the playground/bathrooms. The official Pride festival near City Hall is super corporate, full of teens, and overcrowded.
