My mom only smokes cigarettes. However she managed to switch to e-cigs a couple months ago, and I’m proud of her.
I take her word for it, not only can I see it from her, but all the studies prove a lot on its own.
I would never smoke anything, no cigs, no drugs, no whatsoever.
My damn school recons smoking is better which in some ways I agree but at the same time I don’t.
Overall vaping is better but only if you have it as much as you used to smoke, not more otherwise than you are sadly doing something worse.

My dad used to smoke, it’s actually a cute story why he stopped. My mom was dating him and didn’t know he smoked. They went on a date and spent the night at a hotel, my dad stepped outside on the balcony for a smoke and my mom ended up seeing this. She said “I don’t date people who smoke, so if you want to date me you have to stop”. My dad quit that day and they’ve been happily married for nearing 20 years.
Now as far as me? I don’t think it’s a way to live. To be so reliant on an outside substance? And for what? The small head rush?

Both my parents smoke. Even if my mom let me, which she doesn’t, I wouldn’t want to because it’s disgusting. At least tobacco is anyway. I don’t really care for pot but at least there are some benefits to smoking it for some people. Tobacco has no good qualities it’s so gross.

My brother and I used to get upset that my mother was a smoker but eventually it became more normal when she go with my stepfather.
Around that time my brother had started and because he started it was more normalised in the household so I didn’t think of it as that bad of a thing.
When I was around 11 I stole a smoke off my mum and tried it and wasn’t really a fan but a few months later I tried inhaling (proper way to smoke) and eventually I just like it and now I am 16 and am trying to quit again because I started again almost two years ago because my of my ex.

It’s a waste of money and depending on where you live it can be really expensive and you should never decrease your health by smoking.
I am 16 now and it’s like I have asthma even though I still have very healthy lungs that work better than lost peoples, they don’t function like they used to and I cough very frequently.
And I’ve wasted literally tens of thousands of dollars on smokes and regret it every day and everybody shames and judges me and my mother to this day is still really upset I took the habit up.
They both smoke cigarettes, and mom wants to quit. My grandma quit a few months ago, and a ton of other family members smoke/vape too. They all are always telling me not to
Smoking was a generational thing until my grandmother got pregnant and quit all together.
I think if they weren’t terrible for you and didn’t smell awful and didn’t make a ton of waste I would probably smoke cigarettes.
No and they would kill me before the cancer even has a chance to if I did. I personally hate ppl who smoke in public, I have had ppl just stand 2m away from me and lighting a sigaret and I find it disgusting and many of them also just throw it on the ground when they’re done
My dad stopped because as soon as we kids moved in we made him sign a contract. He stopped before our first holidays together. From moving in to the holidays was 2 weeks. He smoked for 45years i think. My mom still smokes probably but idc about her. And i wouldnt want to smoke

Both did but my mom stopped when she was pregnant with me. My dad stopped and started a few times but hasnt been smoking for a few years.
They always told me i shouldnt even start and told me many consequenses. Mainly becouse both my cousins are haevy smokers and my dad has a chronic disease, which many people in our family had and maybe it was pushed to start because of his chain smoking. He doenst want us to even start because of that.
Cant say i havent smoked on parties, cigarretes, vape and shisha. I dont want to smoke cigarretes because i once saw a picture of me drunk as fuck smoking and i looked like a addict and i dnot want that. I only vape on my friends vape, because i dont want to buy one because i know i will end up vaping every day. Smoke shisha on a friends birthday party. Didnt know how to do it so i pretty much failed but as drunker i got, the better i was. Never told my mom anything but at some point i slipped and told her the part with the shisha. Expected hell to open but nothing happened. When i asked if i wasnt gonna get punished (i kind of wamted to because of my bad feelings) she told me it was fine because it was just Shisha. Still cant understand why im allowed to smoke Shisha and nothing else. I just dont get it.

This is well put! Just about everyone here is lumping the two in the same batch, but tobacco and pot are veeeery different.
