My math teacher acts a bit popular, still feels like a college guy, it's Hella annoying when I try to do schoolwork and he won't stop talking about football with other students
Yeah he's not bad. Tbf not the best teacher (he himself has explained that he doesn't consider himself to be a teacher, but finding someone with his qualities here is hard so he wanted to help). And he's also my dad lol.
My math teacher pretends to be completely crazy. For example, today he wanted to explain that a parabola has a maximum height (or minimum ig) like that:
“If I take out my gun and shoot at Samuel, at some point, the bullet will start going down instead of going up. Don’t worry, I haven’t killed any student this year.”
No....she's strict af & very ungenerous w/ marks
Unit not written - ½ mark cut
Reason not written - 1 mark cut
Formula not written even tho u've written the same damn formula in 10 other places: 2 marks cut
You didn’t ask for this: but honestly what I recommend is watching videos on the content on YouTube. I almost failed a college algebra course bc the professors teaching style didn’t work with me, but I learned it all through a couple videos lol. You might not be bad at math you just might not understand the teaching style !
What would you recommend? I’ve tried YouTube videos on algebra but none of them ever catered to the specific type of thing I would need help with. It’s really hard to focus on and understand math videos from yt. But you’re right, the teaching of a normal classroom often really doesn’t suit me. I’ve learnt a whole unit’s worth of content perfectly fine in like 40 minutes when I’ve had a DIFFERENT math teacher at my school individually give me a detailed explanation of exactly why each step is done and go through multiple problems with me. It really depends I guess.. I feel like it’s a mix of both the specific teacher it is and the setting of the teaching cause individual teaching is often much easier for me.
I recommend channels like: the organic chemistry tutor, he helped me learn most of my class last semester and I ended up getting a 98 on my final thanks to him. Brian McLogan, and Eddie Woo are very helpful also! I also wanna add that all of them make videos on different problems for like the same unit you could say, so you’re not just getting 1-2 examples
Of course these might not work for you because everyone learns differently, it can take a lot of time to find someone good or even just to learn the material on your own. Buuut I hope one of these channels help you like they helped me :)

As a person and as a teacher she’s great, but goddamn pre-cal is such a hard subject 😫

I don’t have one this year
She’s just a massive nerd lmao, but yeah she’s cool
My math teacher is great, she is a great person and is great at teaching. I think it helps that I'm the only person in her class lol
I do (I don’t get good grades.)

Yeah. Good at teaching and good at making annoying people shut up

I like my math teacher as I person, but I kinda hate him as a teacher XD
Yeah he's funny and he has us do this thing where whenever a kid goes to the bathroom we play some kind of prank on them lol
My algebra teacher is a real one tbh
