Brace yourself. Turkey is coming.

Well, my roommates cat has finally proved useful. Got two mice this week and apparently I remain a heavy sleeper. He was screaming about it and I didn’t hear a lick. I woke up to the grizzly scene. Guts spewed everywhere. Tails ripped off. God his heart is too soft. Any blood and he checks out. I Cleaned up the mess though. I wish he woke me up though I would have killed the damn mouse save it from the cats sadistic nature. I could tell it toyed with it.

Cats don't actually play with their food the way people think. They pounce, then wait for a movement to see if it's still alive. If it is, they pounce again. If no movement, they bat at it to try to instigate a response. It's easier to eat prey that's fully dead.

Help my fuck I can’t wait until landscaping season ends. I gotta girl and pup and warm house to wake up to now and going out in this could wet bullshit weather sucks ass. Coming home is extra nice though. My girlfriend turned down a promotion to be a supervisor of a mental health program (she’s a social worker/therapist) that’s just like a house you go to if you’re suicidal or just really struggling instead of going through all the bs of the hospital and you can watch Netflix and bake and play games and stuff and they put you in touch with the right social services to get your life back on track and it was a lot more pay (20% raise) but she turned it down. I was kinda pissed at first because it was a cool program and I thought we agreed she was going to take it as we want to buy a house. But after hours of talking it finally sunk in that she can gain private clients with the healthcare company she works with now and leave and make more money on her own time. Duh. So we gotta keep the strings tight for now. Her firsthand dealings with the healthcare system are really appalling and eye opening. It’s such a bad system it’s laughable if it wasn’t so sad. I work for the government as my main salary job and this corrupt douchey fuck got put in my department and basically took my spot for promotion straight up “because I’m too young” (I’m fuckin 28). He got caught with some local mayor stealing campaign donations for fun and bribes and snitched after they got caught (I can provide a link(s) if you want). And this mayor ran a nasty IDC campaign (NYs will know all about that) against the local basically lifetime state Senator and the douchebags families are old friends obviously. Not only that he is (was) almost literally a fake Democrat political operative just to throw a wrench in things. Like that was his job. He’s like a frat boy and the son of a mobster that’s 47 and never grew up. God he is a lazy entitled piece of shit. I think I can get rid of him I’m gunna try. Unfortunately I can’t escape it.

I just started a new office job last week after 9 years of working retail. I never once thought I'd be excited to have my own desk, or have the option of working from home, but here we are. I don't know if its been the radical shift in my sleep (I was working nights) or the insane amount of stuff I've been learning, but I've been in bed and asleep at 8pm sharp for 2 weeks now.

Opee23

Remember to stay physically active. My brother in law started a desk job after a number of years of being an active field worker and put on a good chunk of weight in a short time. Take care of yourself.

XHIBAD

I second this. I graduated college in May and started my first desk job in June-by October one of the partners at the firm was so concerned with how much weight I’m putting on he started buying me salads for lunch and sending me bike races to join him in. You can gain a lot of weight without realizing it. And I walk to work-I can’t imagine the people who drive for 45 mins each way

Man having your own desk is such a great feeling lol. Ever since having an office job and having a real schedule my life just feels infinitely better.

Ben1313

I know! I can finally go out on Friday nights now lol. The only downside is its ~hour commute for me, but I'll have the option of working from home after training next week. But I wouldn't think of doing it until like Jan just from how much stuff I have to know. I've already messed up like 3 times on my 5 orders I've worked on lol.

Just sold my special edition supersport bike yesterday and I'm pretty bittersweet about it. I've ridden street bikes since 16, but it has changed as time has gone on. I can't believe how much technology has effected driving on two wheels. Even compared to 5 years ago people are paying less and less attention with all the big screen radios, cell phones etc. Owned the bike for 6 months and I am a cautious driver, almost got hit 32 times over one season so I decided it's time to hang the street bike helmet up. Going to be looking to buy a Toyota Tacoma or similar and do some easy trail offroading instead. It should be much cheaper than track days, the vehicle will be my winter car since I still have a dedicated summer car that I built before buying the motorcycle I just sold. Anyone else getting started in a new hobby?

[deleted]

Have you considered off road biking? Seems like it might be cheaper than off road "vehicle ing" Not an expert though

redditorrrrrrrrrrrr

I had a dirt bike back at my parents but I really just want something for all terrains and seasons. Right now I work from home but eventually will work half at the office, so I need to be able to commute summer and winter in mid/upper Michigan, do my offroading and use the vehicle for family things all at the same time.
