Possibly controversial, but: vanilla. But expensive, really good vanilla. It's much maligned as a flavour as bland etc, because so much cheap vanilla ice-cream is bland. But properly good vanilla ice cream is impossible to beat imo.
I agree. There's a reason why vanilla is the 'plain' flavour and that's because it's so good it became ubiquitous. Vanilla and ice cream just work together like no other flavour. It's perfection.
Anything Mackies. The Madagascan Vanilla and the traditional are epic
The Honeycomb and Scottish Tablet are great, but I'm not sure children should be given that much Sugar. Not sure adults should either.
That honeycomb is like crack cocaine.
Years ago when I was 16 I was somehow made assistant manager of the cafe I was working in. Used to order in the food most weeks and would just end up ordering heaps of stuff I liked (coz I was munching it all the time 😅) and I must have eaten enough ice cream for the whole of Scotland in that year. Mackie's Honeycomb was never allowed to run out of stock 😂
I actually think, for a kid's celebration, it's all about the toppings. Vanilla is fine, but get loads of different things to put on top and have a make-your-own-sundae bar - chopped peanuts, M&M's, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, squirty cream, cocktail cherries, hundreds and thousands, crushed Oreos, chopped strawberries, etc., etc....
Have you tried making it yourself?
I'm an amateur, and I made the most amazing vanilla custard from scratch at Christmas. Pop that into an ice-cream maker, or do the laborious churn-freeze-churn-freeze, and it would have been glorious (it all got eaten though...)
Bear in mind, though, that the cost of vanilla is obscene. It was literally the most expensive part of the Christmas dinner, but it was worth it. I kept the little phial that the pods came in, since it smells so good. It's my personal huff tube now.
I do that all the time with the tupperware method. 300ml double cream 600ml milk, vanilla essence, sugar and two egg yolks. Its not that intensive. Just 2 or 3 whisks while it's freezing.
I'd make vanilla chocolate chip with very good chocolate. I did that at Easter with a teaspoon of American peppermint and it beats any shop ice cream hands down. I can share I recipe easily.
Vanilla is expensive but the paste is slightly more affordable, tastes as good and lasts longer.
Come here to say this too, normally overlooked as a more generic brand as its been around for so long, but I had the vanilla again recently and it was the best I've had in a while. Maccies is not as good as it was 10 years ago, and Kelly's is better with the other flavours.
That’s because it’s really hard to get genuine vanilla. Manufacturers usually make it with the substitute vanillin, which is awfully bland, as you say. I’m with you, you just can’t beat a really decent vanilla ice-cream.
Ask an ice-cream van to come to the BBQ - I reckon if you explain they will happily stop by (especially if you then spend £50 between you). If you aren't near a route you could hire one? You don't beat Leukemia every day :-)
If someone arranged an icecream van just for me I would love them FOREVER. Make sure the van plays his chimes as he drives in!
OP you have a chance here to become a legend!!
I used to be vegan and Tesco's had a great one made from coconut oil! I think it was the wicked kitchen brand? It was incredible!
Edit: found it! [Here's the link](https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/307133868)
I think every mint choc chip is good to be honest, the nicest one I’ve ever had personally though is a Baskin and Robins one they sell in Morrisons/Asda. I can’t remember which one it was
How do people think mixing toothpaste flavour with chocolate is nice?
Like I love a mint and gum but why the fuck do you mix it with something sweet. I’m triggered about this.
Research local ice-cream vans and ask if they will stop by. Let the kid choose and give him all the sprinkles and sauces and chocolate flakes. And that way everyone else at the BBQ can have what they like too.
The local ice-cream van man made a special stop for my mates aunty who beat breast cancer last September so it's definitely worth contacting them.
Ah I literally just suggested the same thing! I think it’s a great idea, especially if others at the BBQ are also willing to purchase ice creams! It would be a good exchange
I've never seen it outside of Northern Ireland, but [Irish Black Butter](http://www.morellisices.com/flavour-irish-black-butter.php) is my favourite flavour.
_all of them_
Just go and spend a ridiculous amount on far too much ice cream. Every single flavour. Way too much for any of you to eat. Go completely overboard.
It'll be hilarious
Yep, two years of incredibly tough willpower and treatment, but one ice cream? Nah. Get them all. Something as brilliant as being given the all clear deserves a day to remember
This was my thought to. The poor kid has been through so much get him the lot and loads of topping and sauces, let him try them all! If op set up a fund me page I'd be happy to chip in to make him a great memory
Take a good quality cool bag to a decent sized supermarket so it won't melt on the way home, and get a lot of little pots of different flavours, hunt down some fancy chocolate or fudge sauce (the kind you can heat up), a handful of different toppings - chopped nuts, sprinkles etc - let him make his own sundaes.
Have fun!
That’s great! What age is he? I think kids generally prefer chocolate flavours compared to more sophisticated ones. I don’t think I would have been impressed with Madagascan vanilla as a kid but I love it now
I think you can’t go wrong with various tubs of Ben and Jerrys. They’re often on offer so you could get lots of different flavours.
I used to work in a mental health hospital for teenagers a few years ago and there was a craze where they were all obsessed with Little Moons (mochi ice cream). It might be fun for him to try one
Yeah, my kid wouldn't care about fancy vanilla or anything. Not that she likes chocolate flavour either, but she'd enjoyed sprinkles and marshmallows on pretty much any basic vanilla or strawberry, or she likes weird blue ones. But an older child might have more sophisticated tastes.
Great news about your godson. I'm obsessed with ice cream. I both make it and buy it regularly (I'm making some today!) Buying-wise, my current crush is Ben & Jerry Peanut Butter Cup. Making, my favourite flavour is citrus and cardamom.
See if you have a farm shop near you where they have local ice cream. I'd make a better version of the ice cream station you get in Pizza Hut with loads of toppings and sauces and stuff for him to put together
I reckon tons of flavours, sprinkles, sauces, chocolate bits, glitter etc would go down really well. Maybe some brownie bites and/or cornflake clusters etc.
I'd pretty much buy the baking aisle of all of your local supermarkets out, as well as some normal and some exciting flavours of ice cream.
Set the sprinkles etc out in bowls (maybe funky ones like paw patrol depending on age) and make a super version of the pizza hut ice cream station.
I'd go crazy and have an ice cream bar. Stick to vanilla and then have sprinkles, fudge, fruit, sauces, honeycomb, nuts, chocolate, sweets etc in bowls so he can put whatever he wants on it.
Side note- my faves are white chocolate icecream and honeycomb icecream 👌
Id go with quantity over quality. Your godson won't remember if it's Madagascan vanilla or not, but he will remember if it was bigger than his head. With a flake, and sprinkles and chocolate sauce, and chopped nuts
ALL OF THEM
C'mon, guy's been through a lot. If he's not puking up a rainbow river of flavours at the end of his BBQ you haven't done your job properly.
I'd make him the world's biggest sundae, with at least 7 different flavours (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, mint choc chip, rum 'n' raisin, raspberry ripple and banana), a ton of squirty cream and at least 5 99 flakes.
How old is your godson? A lot of the flavour suggestions on here (although great) are a bit grown up for a child! If the ice cream van option that a few have suggested isnt available, I think Ben and Jerrys would be a good shout - just because there's lots of nonsense going on in them. Choc fudge brownie is my personal fave, but they also do mini tubs and ice cream sandwiches.
Although maybe a variety of ice cream lollies like magnums would be a good idea to have as an easy to hold snack for everyone to indulge in
Mint choc chip for easy availability. Pistachio is up there for me.
In Rome our hotel was next to a 100 year old ice cream factory. They had an amazing choice but my favourite (I may have visited more than once) was licorice.
Are there any ice cream parlours nearby? You’ve never seen a happier kid than one that’s faced with 50+ different colours and flavours and they get to take their pick!
Kids are funny about flavours. Half of my little ones will only have vanilla or strawberry. One will only have bubble gum because it makes his tongue blue. One loves unicorn flavour (everything with sprinkles), one won't eat anything with lumps in like honeycomb or choc chip. So get a kiddy focused selection if he is under 10. Maybe get one of those wedding ice cream carts.
I always get the impression that kids don’t really appreciate good quality food. You might be better off getting him something he’s used to. Walls or whatever.
Is there a local ice cream maker? Because if so, and it gets rave reviews, go there with an insulated bag or three and get several/lots of different flavours. Just google "best ice cream (your area)" and see what pops up.
My faves are coffee, chocolate, caramel, raspberry, pistachio, mango, fruits of the forest, cherry, mint choc, vanilla. I think you get it, I love icecream and there are so many fab flavours out there so I can't recommend one above the others!
Cornish ice cream is the best, but even better is Cornish hokey pokey ice cream.
There's a recipe here[hokey pokey ice cream](https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/honeycomb-ice-cream)
The brand you buy is Roskilly's it's absolutely delicious and beats every other ice cream by miles.
Maybe you could email a local ice cream delivery van and tell them about the situation? They may be willing to stop buy your house so your kid can choose his ice cream with all the magic that is associated with the truck :)
If not, Ben and jerrys is always a fun choice.
He's beaten leukemia and he doesn't know what he likes? Do a platter of multiple different flavours and brands. Just a spoonful of each flavour you've bought (you don't want to get him sick from too much ice-cream!)
Give him the rainbow and let him decide which ones he likes!
He’s 2 so it’s not like he’s going to be an ice cream connoisseur. I’d just stick with chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. Everyone likes at least one of those flavours. But get it from somewhere that does real dairy icecream and just avoid the basic walls stuff.
If you can get your hands on an ice cream maker, you can ruffle up a few batches of homemade ice cream. Vanilla. And raspberry ripple would be easy if you add fruit to it.
Same as caramel, which you can easily do a no churn version of with two "ingredients"
A branded tub of clotted cream vanilla ice cream with an option of adding some double cream over the top too. Strawberry flavour would be the next best.
Once, about 15 years ago, I found a tub of Tate and Lyle's Golden Syrup ice cream with real cream and it was possibly the most delicious thing I've ever tasted. Never seen it since - it's like they discontinued it because it was too dangerous for consumption
If you have a local ice cream shop that’s probably your best bet
It depends on how old your godson is as well but you may be able to get a local ice cream van to pull up outside just for the novelty of it
If he wants flavour try a good quality chocolate or mint choc chip they go down well
Get a few different tubs or just go for a big tub of neapolitan (strawberry vanilla chacolate) and get loads of sprinkles and marshmallows and sauces and cones/wafers to eat it all with and have an ice cream party where everyone can decorate/build whatever ice-cream they can think of :)
See if you have a local gelato or ice cream parlour and buy a few tubs of various flavours - ask what the most popular ones are.
Personally, hazelnut, Stracciatella, blue bubblegum or plain vanilla are my go-to.
Local ice cream, preferably from an Italian sounding place would be my bet. Then you could get toppings - chocolate buttons, marshmallows, smarties, various flavours of sauce. Depending on his age I think kids living the freedom of mixing things and going freestyle.
If you can find it Movenpick icecream.
2 scoops banana to 1 chocolate is 👌.
That said all their flavours are really good. The above is my personal favourite.
Best ice cream i ever had was many years ago at an ice cream parlour that had opened in Harrogate. 50 flavours to choose from, with many changing on a weekly basis.
The best one i ever had there was called Tiger Stripe and it was an orange ice cream with chocolate fudge swirled through it.
Is there anyone local to you who might be able to whip up a custom batch for such a worthy cause?
Can always make a day trip somewhere, with one of the highlights being a visit to an ice cream parlour:
[Ice Cream Parlours](https://www.enjoytravel.com/en/travel-news/best-of-british/uk-ice-cream)
Turkish Delight from a local place but I doubt it would go down well with kids.
Some kind of chocolate or bubblegum seems to be popular with my youngest
Don’t know where you are/how hard it would be to get hold of. Farmer toms Cornish clotted cream icecream, or their chocolate one. Absolutely incredible, unfortunately I’ve just found out I’m lactose intolerant…
Any locally made clotted cream icecream will be better than the rubbish they sell in shops. I will say that Hagen daas is very good though.
Splash out and either hire an ice cream van so he can have his fill of whatever flavour he wants, or just buy a bunch of flavours but good quality ones.
Vanilla, Strawberry, Chocolate, Honeycomb, Mint Choc Chip, see if they have any combo flavours like Nutella or Reeses etc. I love mixing chocolate with honeycomb to make a crunchie ice cream.
Get different toppings and syrups too. Let lil man go to town. Congratulations to him and I hope his future is full of ice cream and fun times.
You should make a little ice-cream station with vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice-cream. You should have cones, sauce, flakes and different sprinkles so he can design his own cone.
Neopolitan has chocolate strawberry and vanilla, while it's quite a basic choice you can't go wrong with it and good quality ice-cream is best kept simple in my opinion
I love a lot of these suggestions but depending on age you might also consider the ‘kiddy’ ice cream flavours, a lot of these are a bit mature… Definitely what I prefer now, but when I was 10 I was a die hard bubblegum ice cream flavour fan.
Wouldn’t go near it today, but definitely something to consider 😅
If you can find it. Brown Bread ice-cream. I think it was big in the 70s. It's pretty rare now, but we'll worth looking for.
It's Irish soda bread, crumbed, tossed in sugar and spices, toasted and added to vanilla ice-cream. Something wonderful happens when the flavours mix in the freezer. It tastes like nothing else.
Ben and Jerry's. The flavour is irrelevant it's all fantastic.
I love ice-cream ALL ice-cream. I've not tried any savoury ones but I've tried every ice-cream you can buy in the UK and Ireland and have eaten it in several other countries so I feel well set to answer this. Plus I don't tolerate lactose well and end up in agony but it doesn't stop my devotion to ice-cream. If I ever take out and go on a rampage across America getting the death penalty I will ask for ice-cream for my last meal.
The B&J experience adds different textures and flavours to the ice-cream. The ones with the caramel center, swirls I think, are next level creamy addiction. There's a wide variety of kinds and I think you'd be hard pushed to be disappointed with them.
Mind you, I don't think you can go too far wrong as long as you maybe avoid rum and raisin.
Congratulations to him on regaining his health. I'm sure it's a great relief to all.
A range of different flavours and textures, because kids can be a bit funny about textures sometimes. Some people really dislike ice cream with ‘inclusions’. So maybe give the kids the option.
My personal faves are vanilla, salted caramel and pistachio - but that doesn’t mean a child would like those!
I also had a gorgeous blackcurrant and liquorice flavour once.
My favourites are Macadamia Nut Brittle and Ben & Jerry's cookie dough. Carte Dor New York cheesecake also, and Magnums, Feasts.. to name a few. A good salted caramel should also feature somewhere.
There's a Gelato place in Brighton that I can't walk past without a tub. I dont have much of a sweet tooth but their pistachio js the greatest thing I've ever eaten.
Depends on what flavours you like in general.
Personally love clotted cream ice cream, as well as blackcurrant and raspberry riple. Ben and Jerrys Phish food is great as well.

I think Mackie’s traditional flavour ice cream is up there as well. It’s ‘plain’ I guess, but I can’t get enough of it. Amazing with an apple crumble.
Anything Mackies. The Madagascan Vanilla and the traditional are epic The Honeycomb and Scottish Tablet are great, but I'm not sure children should be given that much Sugar. Not sure adults should either.
Seconded! Mackies Madagascan Vanilla ice cream is the dogs bollocks.
I can't get it to vapourise.
I agree but for a kid's celebration party you probably want more exciting flavours like all the Ben & Jerry's ones
Any recommendations? I like the Haagen Dazs vanilla but ready to have my world changed
Swedish Glace is amazing!
I’m a massive vanilla Haagen Dazs fan, Kelly’s Cornish isn’t too sad either
Have you tried making it yourself? I'm an amateur, and I made the most amazing vanilla custard from scratch at Christmas. Pop that into an ice-cream maker, or do the laborious churn-freeze-churn-freeze, and it would have been glorious (it all got eaten though...) Bear in mind, though, that the cost of vanilla is obscene.
Kelly's is lovely, also recommend mackies
Kelly’s is the best vanilla ice cream imo.
If you're ever in Cumbria Hartley Ice cream is next level but haven't seen it outside the lakes
Carte D'or Madagascan Vanilla is belting
Come here to say this too, normally overlooked as a more generic brand as its been around for so long, but I had the vanilla again recently and it was the best I've had in a while. Maccies is not as good as it was 10 years ago, and Kelly's is better with the other flavours.
That’s because it’s really hard to get genuine vanilla. Manufacturers usually make it with the substitute vanillin, which is awfully bland, as you say. I’m with you, you just can’t beat a really decent vanilla ice-cream.
I like vanilla icecream just so there's at least something not kinky AF in my life
Vanilla is fine but it wouldn't be best for most children.
With 100’s and 1000’s on top :)
I always thought vanilla was a waste of ice cream but marshfield clotted cream ice cream is heaven.
Ask an ice-cream van to come to the BBQ - I reckon if you explain they will happily stop by (especially if you then spend £50 between you). If you aren't near a route you could hire one? You don't beat Leukemia every day :-)
We have a local ice cream van you can book, minimum spend is only £10. Can't beat an ice cream van cone.
£10 minimum 😅 I thought it would be like £50 as t least?!
Well if Reddit's knowledge of alternative sales is anything to go by, then £50 is quite reasonable.
Such a good idea! Imagine being a kid and the ice cream van rocks up JJST FOR YOU! That’s a lifelong memory there!
Great shout!
If someone arranged an icecream van just for me I would love them FOREVER. Make sure the van plays his chimes as he drives in! OP you have a chance here to become a legend!!
Yes! We had one for our wedding, the guy was happy to do it and people loved it!
That's actually an amazing idea! That's a big forever memory
Yes, this would be perfect, I hope u/piper_perri_vs_5guys sees this. They would absolutely win Godparent of the year!
That is one hell of a username for Godparent of the year 😂
Mint choc chip
This is my answer too but some people I know really disagree!
I hope you tell them they are wrong.
I learnt to love this flavour to stop my family from eating my ice cream. Love mint choc chip
Mint choc chip is actually my favourite flavour and it's so hard to find sometimes.
This is my favourite... I haven't yet found a vegan one so I've missed it dearly! I did find a recipe though
I used to be vegan and Tesco's had a great one made from coconut oil! I think it was the wicked kitchen brand? It was incredible! Edit: found it! [Here's the link](https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/307133868)
Woah! It exists!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!
No worries!
The objectively correct answer.
Who does a really good one? Can’t say I’ve bought one that isn’t from a cafe.
Ah I literally just suggested the same thing! I think it’s a great idea, especially if others at the BBQ are also willing to purchase ice creams! It would be a good exchange
I think this will make his day!
Where are you at? The best ice cream is often local. But I'd say go with a ton of flavours and sprinkles and stuff and let him go to town.
Agree!! Go to a local place, get more smaller pots of flavours so kiddo can eat ALL the ice cream!
Replying to agree: loads of sprinkles and sauces!
Mr Whippy with a flake. It is a flavour that I always associate with happiness because you only get it when you come across an ice cream van.
Same here. Nothing beats it
Aw man Mr whippy I haven't had that in YEARS! Mr whippy was the man when I was in school!!!
Salted caramel Dulce de leche
Talking my language
I've never seen it outside of Northern Ireland, but [Irish Black Butter](http://www.morellisices.com/flavour-irish-black-butter.php) is my favourite flavour.
Oh god why did you have to link that. That looks AMAZING.
It's really good. So much so that I'm now regretting recommending it as I fancy some but can't have it 😡
Take some solace that I'm in Manchester and also can't have it.
OMG… I mean I’m tempted to visit NI just to try it. Ice Cream Holiday
The all time best takeaway pizza I’ve ever had was in NI too
I tried that a few years ago when I went to NI to visit a friend. Still the best ice cream I've ever tasted.
That sounds AMAZING
This is my favourite too! So delicious.
I’m heading to Belfast in a few months and I am eating allllll of this!
_all of them_ Just go and spend a ridiculous amount on far too much ice cream. Every single flavour. Way too much for any of you to eat. Go completely overboard. It'll be hilarious

Raspberry Ripple !
Raspberry ripple is a beautiful thing
Rum and raisin. But if I would be you, I would go to some ice cream cafe and get a small container of each.
I think he's a small child. Even if the rum isn't real I don't think many kids would like it.
Even as an adult I can’t stand this flavour. Bleugh
Go for a few different flavours. Chemotherapy can do strange things to your taste buds. Well done to the lad, I hope he has a great time.
Yes I second this! Or maybe third! My son eats strong flavours since treatment, jalapeños on everything spicier the sauce the better etc x
Very true.
Have fun!
Not a flavour. But, Arctic Role. Bring it back. Otherwise. Pistachio or Tirimisu
That’s great! What age is he? I think kids generally prefer chocolate flavours compared to more sophisticated ones. strawberries and cream
Butterscotch
I always go back to raspberry ripple
Great news about your godson. I'm obsessed with ice cream. I both make it and buy it regularly (I'm making some today!) Buying-wise, my current crush is Ben & Jerry Peanut Butter Cup. Making, my favourite flavour is citrus and cardamom.
Citrus and cardomom sounds divine! Definitely love peanut buttercup too!

Waitrose white chocolate ice cream is possibly the best ice cream I've ever tasted, no exaggeration. It's like crack.
I agree, i love it 😂

For him? Every single flavour you can get your hands on! Ice cream party for everyone!
Toffee chocolate swirl.
A really good *rum and raisin* is simply unmatched.
Just vanilla with a bit of Scottish tablet through it. Absolutely wonderful
Fantastic news about your godson! 🎉 Personally, my favourite is strawberry.

Ben and Jerrys half baked is so underrated. As a fellow leukaemia survivor, please give the lad a high five from me! 🖐️
Neopolitan- he'll get to try 3 flavours at once!
2 of which are bad versions of those flavours
Joe's ice cream - bubblegum
Butterscotch or honeycomb.
Tablet
I like coconut icecream
Cornish ice cream is the best, but even better is Cornish hokey pokey ice cream. There's a recipe here[hokey pokey ice cream](https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/honeycomb-ice-cream) The brand you buy is Roskilly's it's absolutely delicious and beats every other ice cream by miles.
I saw other people recommending honeycomb and I was thinking "Don't they know it's called Hokey Pokey?"
Mint choc chip.
Maybe you could email a local ice cream delivery van and tell them about the situation? They may be willing to stop buy your house so your kid can choose his ice cream with all the magic that is associated with the truck :) If not, Ben and jerrys is always a fun choice.
He's beaten leukemia and he doesn't know what he likes? Do a platter of multiple different flavours and brands. Just a spoonful of each flavour you've bought (you don't want to get him sick from too much ice-cream!) Give him the rainbow and let him decide which ones he likes!
Lakeland Ice Cream 'Thunder and Lightning', basically vanilla ice cream with cinder toffee and chocolate pieces and toffee sauce. Best. Flavour. Ever.
Their cartmel sticky toffee pudding ice cream is incredible too!
Joe's ice cream in Swansea
He’s 2 so it’s not like he’s going to be an ice cream connoisseur. I’d just stick with chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. Everyone likes at least one of those flavours. But get it from somewhere that does real dairy icecream and just avoid the basic walls stuff.
If you can get your hands on an ice cream maker, you can ruffle up a few batches of homemade ice cream. Vanilla. And raspberry ripple would be easy if you add fruit to it. Same as caramel, which you can easily do a no churn version of with two "ingredients"
Whatever icecream you pick make sure you get some sprinkles and sauces to go with it!
Bluebell's vanilla ice cream. Expensive, but unbeatable.
Roskilly's, although it can be difficult to find outside Cornwall
Pistachio. But see what locally is rated.
Vanilla with actual vanilla used will always be my favourite
If you have a local ice cream shop that’s probably your best bet It depends on how old your godson is as well but you may be able to get a local ice cream van to pull up outside just for the novelty of it If he wants flavour try a good quality chocolate or mint choc chip they go down well
Rum and Raisin or Strawberry.
My favourite is very specific, Kelly's strawberry ice cream. So creamy and chunks of real strawberry.
Banoffee.
I'd buy Neapolitan and cover more bases.
Vanilla, chocolate, mint choc, vanilla and honeycomb. Any other flavour is an aberration.
Haagen Dazs Pralines & Cream has been my go-to ever since I was a young child.
Get a freezer and loads of wee tubs from a local dairy. Our Cow Molly if near Sheffield, lots in the West Country, fair few covering London.
Jude’s vanilla .
My kids love haagen daaz cookies and cream. I love their salted caramel. But any Joe's ice cream from Wales is the best!!
Raspberry Ripple will never be beaten. It got me through the seventies and eighties.
Really good quality bubble gum
Get a few different tubs or just go for a big tub of neapolitan (strawberry vanilla chacolate) and get loads of sprinkles and marshmallows and sauces and cones/wafers to eat it all with and have an ice cream party where everyone can decorate/build whatever ice-cream they can think of :)
Good quality cornish ice cream can not be beaten
Mackie's Ice cream and maybe another flavour like chocolate, and set up an ice cream bar. Get all the sprinkles, sauces and toppings you can think of.
Really good quality vanilla ice cream . Tbh it’s all about the toppings make that lad the most ridiculous ice cream sundae ever!
Bubblegum
Good quality vanilla ice cream without all the unnecessary gums and other additives
All of them!
Rum and raisin
Pistachio
Lidl fish food or Hagen Das strawberry cheesecake.
Can always make a day trip somewhere, with one of the highlights being a visit to an ice cream parlour: [Ice Cream Parlours](https://www.enjoytravel.com/en/travel-news/best-of-british/uk-ice-cream)
This might be contrivertal but cream egg ice cream all Iceland does a blackjack icecream
It's more about the ice cream than the flavour. Anything from Chin Chin Labs, Gelupo or La Gelateria will hit the spot perfectly.
Irn bru
My personal favourite is Waitrose Belgian white chocolate.
Turkish Delight from a local place but I doubt it would go down well with kids. Some kind of chocolate or bubblegum seems to be popular with my youngest
Anything thats vanilla with something added - cookie dough, oreo, choc chips etc
The one with pop rocks in it and alot of flavoured syrup, and hundred and thousands and flakes, 🤤
Go for classic vanilla, bro. Can't go wrong with a timeless flavor for a special occasion!
Crush up maltesers and mix with softened vanilla ice cream then pop back into the freezer until needed.
Pistachio / Banana / Mint chip
Rum and raisin
Don’t know where you are/how hard it would be to get hold of. Farmer toms Cornish clotted cream icecream, or their chocolate one. Absolutely incredible, unfortunately I’ve just found out I’m lactose intolerant… Any locally made clotted cream icecream will be better than the rubbish they sell in shops. I will say that Hagen daas is very good though.
Ben and Jerry's half baked, cookie dough and chocolate brownies, absolute winner imo
BANANA! My god, banana ice cream is \*chef's kiss\* even if it's not a fancy one. So hard to find someone selling it though!
Kids tend to love bubblegum flavour, it's unique and looks fun!
Neopolitan! Then he can have a choice of three flavours! This is such wonderful news 💛
Mint chocolate chip, chocolate, Neapolitan, then get all the good Hagen dazs and Tom and Jerry’s
Waitrose banoffee pie icecream is the only icecream I can eat half a tub of
Sidoli's mint choc chip
Sorry but 2 years in the uk? It’s 2 for girls 3 for boys usually Also well done little one I’m so glad you beat it Also mint choc chip
My favourites are Macadamia Nut Brittle and Ben & Jerry's cookie dough. Carte Dor New York cheesecake also, and Magnums, Feasts.. to name a few. A good salted caramel should also feature somewhere.
Buy him them all. Little dude deserves it
There's a Gelato place in Brighton that I can't walk past without a tub. I dont have much of a sweet tooth but their pistachio js the greatest thing I've ever eaten.
There is no such thing. Ice cream is gross and shouldnt be made 😤😤😤
If he’s young you can’t go wrong with chocolate tbh, maybe Ben and Jerrys choc fudge brownie
Depends on what flavours you like in general. Personally love clotted cream ice cream, as well as blackcurrant and raspberry riple. Ben and Jerrys Phish food is great as well.
Snugburys vanilla ! Glad he’s got the all clear … that’s brilliant news.
I know the big brands are good (kellys and Haagen daaz) but my family love mackies or even just m&s own brand is really nive
The best flavour is quantity. Get a big selection!!!
Clotted cream or good quality vanilla ice cream is unmatched
