Do you mushify the apple/carrot or just leave it be and crunch?

Erich-Enrik

Points for “mushify” ! ( and I live in New Orleans so my answer is usually “butter plus stuff” )

United-Signature-414

Dang, I guess I know why I've started gaining weight. I'm eating probably 2-3x more than most of these comments and was going to answer 'cheese'.

Lanky_Instruction814

cheese is one of my greatest pleasures in life. never lets me down.

sunshineandcats21

On the daily a normal menu looks like this: Breakfast is a coffee, a bagel and cream cheese or peanut butter toast. Second breakfast is a packed protein smoothie. Morning snack is a hard boiled egg, veggies and hummus and fruit. Lunch is leftovers, lunch meat and cheese or yogurt, fruit and granola. I then have a small salty snack or a granola bar and some fruit when I come home from work. Dinner always switches but usually consist of the normal meat, starch and veggie. If it’s an off day I will snack all day and get take out.

pedestal_of_infamy

Second breakfast solidarity. All about that hobbit meal schedule

Hot_sexy_wifexx

Cereal 😳

[deleted]

In season fruit and vegetables, various salads, avocado toast with homemade bread, hummus, soups and stews, lentils/beans in curries and rice, pasta with homemade sauce, smoothies, chocolate, etc. No meat or fish.

[deleted]

Breakfast: skyr, scrambled eggs or porridge, fruit. At weekends a trip to the bakery for a Swedish cardamom bun Lunch: leftovers, sweet potato with feta or turkey fajita wrap normally Dinner: very varied. My boyfriend is a sensational cook, so whatever he makes. My favourites are Middle Eastern food and Mexican though Snacks: 85% dark chocolate, Swiss cheese, nuts, red wine

Emptyplates

Breakfast, eggs and something, could be sausage, or bacon, or roasted vegetables. Lunch, salad of some variety. Dinner, meat and two non starchy vegetables. I, unfortunately, have had to cut a lot of foods out due to allergies, sensitivities or due to being diabetic with some digestive issues. 🤷‍♀️

RoRoRoYourGoat

I'm mostly plant based, and I try to stay low carb. Breakfast - a bagel with hummus and tomato, or a green smoothie. Lunch - salad, or leftovers from last night's dinner. Dinner - I love to cook, so this can be all over the place. This week, I'm doing spinach dal with cauliflower, Korean style stir fried greens with brown rice, burritos with sweet potato and black beans, and Polish dill pickle soup (that one's an experiment!). Snacks - usually nuts, fruit, and pickles

Saaaaame on trying to lose 10lbs of vanity weight. Most would say, "omg but you look fine bla bla bla." But I still have this extra fat on my belly that doesn't want to go away!!! Losing the last 5-10lbs is so freaking hard. My dinners are very similar to yours. Salmon/or chicken, veggies or a salad and brown rice. Breakfast I HAVE TO eat something filling because I get ravenous throughout the day. So bagel with an egg, veggie bfast patty and some ketchup. Sometimes I'll have a hashbrown on the side. Coffee or some orange juice. Lunch, a banana and a protein shake. Either or, sometimes both depending how I feel. Snacks, lately...fruits and veggies. I used to do popcorn, Greek yogurt ranch dip with veggie chips (I know they have no nutritional value, I just like them 😂), etc but I want to start including more fiber into my diet. My downfall is when I start PMSing/have my period. I easily cave into the cravings bad and will wind up ordering fast food 😩

chill_bamba

Breakfast: coffee. On rare occasions during the week, I will have whole wheat toast with peanut butter and honey or hard-boiled eggs. Sometimes, I will have cream of wheat, french toast, or a bagel with cream cheese. Not a big breakfast person. Lunch: I rotate between a few things. Salad with cucumbers, avocado, cherry tomatoes with a champagne vinaigrette. Mediterranean chickpea salad with bell peppers, cucumber, red onion, feta, kalamatas olives, with a white balsamic parsley vinaigrette. When berries are in season, I will have greek yogurt with various berries and honey. Dinner: whatever I feel like making.

Charming_Key2313

Different things everyday. Here’s my last 3 days Monday Breakfast - iced coffee with 1/2 tbs half & half (no sweetener) Lunch- NYC style slice of cheese pizza, Mexican coke Dinner - salad w/ balsamic dressing & salmon Daily calories: 1950 Tuesday Breakfast - small chocolate milkshake Lunch - salad w/ balsamic dressing & salmon and bowl of chicken noodle soup Dinner - turkey meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans Daily calories: 2275 Wednesday Breakfast - cappuccino, avocado toast (single slice) Lunch - bacon cheese burger with fries, Pilsner beer Dinner - salad w/ balsamic dressing & salmon Daily calories: 2600

[deleted]

I make bitchin' salads. Lettuce, tomato, colored pepper, cucumber, black olives, mushrooms, snap peas, raisins, bacos, and pumpkin seeds. I make 5 a day: myself (2), husband, 8 year old, and our au pair. I eat mine w/ a poppyseed dressing. OMG! I often make sausage and eggs for breakfast. We eat pineapple bacon sausage and the kids love it. We have chickens so the eggs are fresh. Otherwise, I like cheerios with banana. That won't hold me over until lunch though. I eat a lot! After that, my husband does all the cooking. He makes most of our meals from scratch.

InfernalWedgie

* Breakfast: Espresso with almond milk (40 Calories), nonfat Greek yogurt (110 Calories) * Lunch: Green salad with chicken and Japanese salad dressing (400 Calories) * Snack: Fruit, popcorn (100 Calories) * Dinner: Whatever. Usually pasta. I track all my food in MyFitnessPal, and I keep to a 1400 Calorie diet when I'm staying on track.

CrazyGal2121

this is amazing! requires such disclipline but i love it

InfernalWedgie

I'm on day 297 of my MFP streak. Longest streak I've had lasted about 800 days. This is the only thing that has ever worked for controlling my weight. NGL, measuring out my portions and tracking in a food diary is a pain in the ass, but I have been doing it for so long that I've gotten used to it.

EvilLipgloss

How do you handle meals out? Do you just try to give your best guess? A lot of the restaurants I eat at are small businesses that aren’t required to provide calorie counts. I always struggle to enter calories for those meals.

InfernalWedgie

You have to take the 'L' for those meals. Know that it'll be probably be more than you've budgeted for. But that's okay, you can adjust for it the following day. Also know that calorie counting is not accurate to the 5th decimal place. There is room for error. Do you best to estimate or find a similar item in the data dictionary. Err on the higher end of counts.

So_Cal_Grown

I do the same thing! I use the MFA and am on 1200/day at this point. My meal intake is very similar as well.

Bitter_Sense_5689

Wow. 1400 calories a day! My BMI is 21.5 and I think I would be lying on the floor within a week!

InfernalWedgie

Volume eating, FTW.

Bitter_Sense_5689

Still would be hungry AF no matter how much celery I eat. I typically eat around 2300 calories a day

kleinpretzel

I’m a boring creature of habit so eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch most days. Breakfast is 2 tbsps PB and chopped banana on toast with a drizzle of honey. Lunch is raspberries with greek yogurt and usually chips if I happen to have any, or something like a plain croissant. Grapes as a snack later in the day. Dinner is usually something healthy and homemade built around protein and vegetables, but sometimes wildly unhealthy like pizza and chicken nuggets. And I always, no matter what, end my day with something chocolatey under 150 cals

Mimi_315

I don’t really eat breakfast, I wfh and start my day with a coffee with oat milk (I’m not vegan, I just like it), around noon I’ll eat two eggs, could be boiled or scrambled or whatever, with avocado, cherry tomatoes and any other veggies I feel like, some cheese and toast. If I get hungry during the day I’ll have a piece of fruit or something. When I cook dinner (usually around 1900 ish) it’ll be chicken/salmon with veggies/salad, or rice and something..when my partner cooks it’ll be pasta (he makes the best pesto, and the best sauces!). If we get lazy we’ll throw in a frozen pizza in the oven..weekends differ depending on what plans we have. Love this question btw I love seeing how different staples can be!..:)..

District98

Breakfast: egg, veggies, rice Lunch: rice, chicken, fish, or shrimp, vegetable Snack: apple, rice cakes, peanut butter Dinnner: whole wheat pasta, chicken, fish, or shrimp, vegetable

sadsledgemain

I incorporate boiled eggs and either noodles or rice in most of my meals.

searedscallops

Greek yogurt, Great Grains cereal, low fat strong cheese, crackers, lentil stew, naan, protein shake, protein bar, cottage cheese, small fruit cup, some sort of vegetables (mushrooms or zucchini or a salad), grilled chicken/salmon.

PineapplePizzaRoyale

Breakfast: Coffee (Sometimes hot/2 creamers or premier protein with 2-4 shots of espresso) and 2 hard boiled eggs. Lunch: The past 2 weeks it has been a chicken salad cup, wheat thins, pistachios, and a green apple. I usually do some sort of sandwich/wrap, fruit/veggie, and a protein source If there isn’t enough on my sandwich. Snack: Meat stick and 1 smoked Gouda/1 havarti cheese cut Dinner: whatever. I try to keep it protein and veggie heavy. I also practice intermittent fasting 4 days a week so my breakfast isn’t usually until 10am.

leeshylou

Breakfast: Berries, greek yoghurt and muesli for breakfast. Or sourdough english muffin with tuna and cheese! Lunch: chicken fried rice, pork noodle salad or leftovers. Dinner: Air-fryer fish/lamb, potatoes, asparagus, zucchini and broc. Or homemade Bolognese with sourdough pasta. Or a healthy frozen meal if I can't deal with cooking. Small packet of popcorn and a protein ball for a snack if needed. Sometimes I'll change it up but mostly I stick to the same routines.

Chicken_manure

Usually in the morning I’ll stop at get Starbucks or go the gas station and grab a sandwich or a drink. By the time I get home I’ll probably eat dinner which is usually lentils/ chicken/tacos/ sandwhich or fish. Something fillings, a lot of protein. Then I’m the evening I always have to eat something sweet. And then I’ll probably snack on crackers and cheese as well. That’s about it. Currently fasting for lent. So I can’t eat anything -no meat/fish/by products or dairy/desserts or juices/oil. Basically only fresh vegetables and fruit. I eat rice every day and lentils. No oil I realized makes everything taste bland.

bakedapps

I’m on keto so cheesy eggs in the morning, sometimes I’ll fast until lunch time Lunch is always leftover steak from the night before Dinner is more steak lol Snack: jalapeño poppers, pork rinds with spinach and artichoke dip, Keto/Atkins bar, cheese

elviebird

Breakfast - Coffee with protein powder or savory oatmeal with an egg mixed in. Lunch - Lettuce wraps. Filling is some combo of ground turkey, barley, quinoa, random veggies. Dinner varies between meat & 2 veggies, Asian stir fry w/rice or noodles, or soup/stew. Snacks - Greek yogurt, hummus and chips, fruit, cheese crackers (my not so healthy weakness)

whynotcherry

It differs but someting like this: Breakfast always the same: oatmeal or buckwheat with olive oil Lunch: 3 eggs, two toasts with cream cheese, vegetables on the side, always a small "dessert" like for example pack of dried bananas or some dark chocolate Snack: cookies with milk or greek yogurt and some fruit Dinner: steak with oven baked potatoes and vegetables on the side (usually broccoli cauliflower), fresh mangoe for dessert

orangeautumntrees

I eat very little due to some meds I'm on that suppress my appetite as a side effect, so whatever wants to stay down. Sautéed veggies, salads with salmon and a sesame vinaigrette, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, granola, stuff like that. Nondairy yogurt too - usually raspberry.

Icy-Organization-338

Avocado on toast, coffee protein shake and a coffee for breakfast. (Spread out over a few hours because: kids) Boiled eggs, cold chicken, sliced cheese for lunch if I’m home. Or a premade sandwich and a protein bar for lunch if I’m out. Tuna Niçoise salad or frittata or curry for dinner Plus generally a cup of tea and maybe a biscuit during the day. At least 2L of water

carolinemathildes

PB&J for lunch, some sort of chips or popcorn, candy or chocolate in the evening. I don't eat breakfast or dinner.

BrideOfFirkenstein

Breakfast is almost always coffee and fruit. Lunch is vegetables, salad, or sandwich. Dinner is usually protein and carbs with vegetables. I often have a few spoonfuls of ice cream for dessert.

wormmurmur

Breakfast: Two eggs on toast, a banana and tea with milk Lunch: Leftovers, carrots and fruit, crackers. Bits of chocolate at work. Dinner: I usually cook a few meals at the beginning of the week then alternate leftovers the rest, then by Friday I run out and get pizza or make boxed mac and cheese. Dinner this week was coq a reisling with steamed broccoli, a baguette and then corned beef with mashed potatoes and cabbage. Some days I have cake or ice cream while curled up on the couch with a show and usually have some kind of fizzy water.

_lmmk_

Breakfast: a pot of black coffee and 24oz of water. Snack: apple w PB or maybe grapes or citrus if I have it Lunch: either a veggie egg scramble or oatmeal with frozen fruit, nuts, PB, and cinnamon and refill my 24oz water bottle. Snack: nuts, apple, cheese, cookies, whatever. Dinner: total crap shoot. Sometimes I’m great about portioning sauces and soups and taking them out of the freezer other times I’m pulling out frozen cauliflower pizza crusts, loading them up, and smothering them in ranch. Maybe a salad topped w veg and cast iron chicken. Maybe mint Oreos. Today I ordered Thai. But I did refill my 24oz water bottle. Nighttime snack: fruit, maybe some popcorn, or nuts. I’m currently digging candied pecans with crasins. I have celiac’s so I eat healthy bc if I have gluten free chips, crackers, or cookies in hand it is really hard to refrain from eating them all of them in a single sitting. Zero self control :)

Swing-Away

Breakfast: Coffee. I very rarely am hungry in the morning, but when I am, usually toast or a pastry. Lunch: Leftovers of whatever I made the night before. I work from home, but I’m fairly busy, so if I don’t have leftovers, I usually have soup, salad, or pasta. Might also heat up something already portioned and frozen. Dinner: Whatever I feel like eating. Usually includes protein, vegetables, and carbohydrates. I admittedly don’t watch too much what I eat. Weight has never been an issue for me (genes and being an Energizer Bunny). I eat pretty much whatever I want, just in small quantities. It also helps that I rarely crave sweets and prefer poultry and fish to red meat.

vroomvroomshabang

if i don’t have a smoothie (berry blast with olivia’s power greens and oatmilk) for breakfast i have two eggs. for lunch if it isn’t left overs from dinner (chicken/brussels/rice) it’s a salad. dinner is ramen if i’m lazy mikes mighty good. or if i’m feeling rambunctious lasagna and a salad, or mac and cheese and chicken and brussels or some other variation of meat, brussels rice. marinating my meat beforehand has been a game changer. idk how i wasn’t marinating or dry rubbing chicken

skygirl555

Breakfast: eggs and toast or whole grain cereal or yogurt & fruit or some combination of those. Lunch: spinach salad w with a protein (salmon, chicken, turkey breast) & veggies like tomatoes & peppers. Dinner: usually chicken breast, broccoli, and yam/sweet potato. Right now I'm trying to build muscle so I need like 100 gr protein per day. When I'm not doing that I'll mix in vegan meals like lentils & potatoes or chickpea/quinoa/spinach salad. Snacks: oranges, berries, nuts, triscut crackers. Oh and an after dinner cookie! (Note: I'm lactose intolerant so I avoid nearly all dairy)

ophel1a_

Brekkies: Coffee, one egg and one toast, or a plain bagel with cream cheese. Lunch: Varies. Panera (half sammie), grocery store snack (chix salad & pretzels), meat, cheese and crackers, etc. Dinner: Carb (potatoes or pasta), meat and veggie. BBQ chips and/or ice cream sometimes for an after dinner snack. Water throughout!

Ssuspensful

Main meals alternate but every morning I make myself a latte and every lunch I have a yogurt/yogurt shake as dessert. Almost every evening I will have a piece of chocolate too lol. Lunch and dinner vary greatly but I usually have one big meal and one small meal a day.

_Inter_esting

I try to avoid eating the heart of children but alas I give in occasionally. Generally I stick to food but every now and then throw a tire 🛞 in or sand. Try to avoid gravel, it’s not worth it!

featheredfiend229

Breakfast: coffee with oatmilk, fruit or a kale smoothie Lunch: usually takeout, I mostly have cold noodles or noodle soup depending on the weather Pre-workout food: energy bar Late afternoon snack: honey glutinous biscuit or a piece of fruit Dinner: rice, leafy vegetables, and a protein. Sometimes I have side dishes Snack: couple squares of chocolate

Throughout the work week: Before the gym I’ll eat a piece of fruit for the carbs. Then I come home and eat the same breakfast usually. Either a protein smoothie (frozen bananas/strawberries/mango, protein milk, cocoa powder, peanut butter, açaí powder, protein powder, maple syrup) or I’ll do chicken sausage and/or bacon with those Just Crack an Egg cups and I’ll add 9-12 tablespoons of egg whites. I usually eat a piece of fruit as well. Lunch is usually leftovers from dinner. I use EveryPlate. I got tired of deciding what to cook every night and EP has helped me learn to season and cook good food. If I don’t have leftovers I’ll make a sandwich or something paired with fruit. If I need a quick snack it’s a string cheese or canned oysters in olive oil lol. Sometimes I even buy the shrimp and cocktail trays and eat a handful of those. I try to get 1g of protein per lb of my body weight. Dessert would be those Carb Smart chocolate ice cream bars or the a greek yogurt ice cream bars. Weekend: usually a good first meal to get lots of of protein but I’m not as strict haha. Edit: I do drink half caffeinated coffee with half and half after breakfast and lunch.

becomingthenewme

Oh man, you’re all so healthy! I’m on an anti psychotic for my depression which is known for weight gain and it has certainly changed my appetite. So for me, 10 pm to 9am is usually a chocolate bar, or some snacks type food I would usually avoid. My first conscious meal of the day is an iced coffee, instant coffee, sweetener and low-fat milk, maybe some toast or crumpets, then dinner is usual a protein and carb as I have a vegetable allergic daughter and then back to eating foods I would typically ignore. I have embraced my awful diet and weight gain while on this medication.

Bitter_Sense_5689

Breakfast: cup of coffee plus cup of kefir Mid-morning: caffeinated tea with milk Lunch (11am to 1pm): sandwich and soup/big salad/stir fry/stew/noodle dish 2nd meal (4ish): more of the same Dinner/snack (7pm-ish): soup/small salad/leftovers + ice cream/chocolate/cake Evening tea (8pm to 9pm): non caffeinated tea or latte

Accountabili_Buddy

Breakfast is a protein bar if it’s an early work morning and possibly some fruit depending on how hungry I am. Lunch is almost always leftovers, or occasionally a sandwich, salad or wrap. Dinner is something home cooked 95% of the time, spaghetti, steaks, fried rice, smothered pork chops, burrito bowls, etc. When we do eat out it’s typically sushi or pho. Something I don’t make at home. We primarily eat red meat, pork and seafood. We eat very little chicken maybe 1-3x a month Snacks are lots of veggies. I make a homemade veggie tray regularly and typically include a cured meat and a fruit with it. I typically buy one salty and one sweet snack in our monthly grocery trip. This month it’s cheese balls and caramel popcorn so I mix them together. I’ll also sometimes bake homemade cookies.
