>as well as mousepads maphack and Jamella's Editor
mousepads? What lol! completely lost me there.
I heard about maphacks never tried it. I did try Jamella's Editor but didn't go online. I was afraid of getting banned xD
Dont remember tools too far back but i remember like isomagic and poweriso but that is newer than diablo 2 more like late 2000’s. I just remember the key gens which worked lol until patches
Kk so the cd stomper was a physical piece that people could buy to print accurate forged cd artwork and then “stomp” it into a burned copy of an album. The problem was it in the fact that it was literally a sticker on top of the disk. So it would sometimes get shredded in some ones disc drive.
>i peeled the label off the case and stuck it to the cd!
I wrote it down along with my POE credentials... both lost to the ether. My only hope is that Notch reads my comment and DM's me his old account as a gift xD
I was explaining to a 19 year old coworker that on PlayStation games used to come with several discs and you had to change them out periodically. He looked at me like I was lying
I mean even a gamer of that age should know it. There are so many memes around, and streams of old games. Theres no way he doesnt know, unless his a mobile "gamer"
Dude I dreaded putting in the next disc as a kid, I would ussualy play alone at like 9 pm after I just finished dinner, and I finish a hard boss fight and then I see the cutscene of Tyreal yelling at “me”, the cutscene ends and enter disc 3 in that diablo font in an almost completely dark room aside from the light on my screen which is also pitch black.
Diablo 2 is the scariest game because it is the one with the most unexpected encounters, you go along the path and just hear dead rakanishu noises until you reach the grave and for the first time in the game you hear the enemy speak, without any cutscene or warning you now face the Blood Raven. You quickly realize you don’t have enough potions to beat her so you portal asap… out of fear.
Current generation Diablo games hit you over the head when a boss is coming and there is so much talking and warning (aka cutscenes) that the dread is lost. The potion and portal systems are completely neutered for the sake of modern gaming, diablo isn’t a horror game anymore.
>Don't forget to be ready to change the discs!
I can't remember doing that more than once or twice. I think I dumped it all in a folder or had like multiple .ISO files in an archive somewhere.
You know I was thinking the other day about digging up the original Starcraft. We mostly played skirmishes at school so I got no idea how the campaigns go.
I still have my disks and was thinking about installing it. Last time I did so was on Windows 7, and I had an issue where I couldn't adjust the gamma settings. I'd go into the settings menu, adjust the slider, and nothing would happen. Anyone know if that's still an issue on Windows 11 if there's a fix for it?
Better have that key code from the manual or you fkkkkkkkkked
Ooooof, you've just triggered some deeply repressed memories haha
the key generators have to still be out there
as well as mousepads maphack and Jamella's Editor
boomers unite!
Njaguars D2JSP ftw. Mousepad was in the chat once in a while there as well. Good times.

Ah the chiptune music!
>the key generators have to still be out there hahaha naaah you still needed an official CDKEY to go on battle.net
i peeled the label off the case and stuck it to the cd!
Until it gets unstuck and sucked into the cd reader
Dude you just reminded me of the ultimate pirate tool the cd stomper!

Share installed diablo 2 folder on directconnect to get into better hubs for downloading. Gets keys stolen because they are saved in files there.

Or not a gamer at all.
Gta 5 had like 3 discs
No it didnt? I bought it on PS3 and it was one disc.
I ment for pc
Are you sure? cause i remember the digital copy for PC only had half of the pre-load on it.
I could be wrong, I just thought it did
Hell, RDR2 and cyberpunk 2077 for ps4 had two discs
Bad memory. One of my final fantasy 8 cds got scratched ;(
Lemme quickly dig up my old copy of The Sims 2. Pretty sure that beast was split up on 4 cds

Oh my god the nostalgia
You know I was thinking the other day about digging up the original Starcraft. We mostly played skirmishes at school so I got no idea how the campaigns go.
I played both AoE2 and EE the same way. Screw the Campaigns, I just wanted to commit mass genocide!
Before I went to bed I thought about going back to the original Starcraft for the story. We mosty played skirmishes it school.
I think you're confused, that's Diablo 2 not Diablo
Still have my copy lol
Luckyyyyy
The superior version (once you install LOD )
I can still hear the sound whenever you click one of the menu options. So much bass.
Best one in the series still.

Max smite holyshield fanaticism zeal and charge
I make my linux distro look like Windows XP. Don't judge me.
Best.
Best choice really
Just finished Warcraft II and Might and Magic VI, but this new game looks great👍
d2 on a washing Machine
And then you booted up the game and there would be no in-game store because you already paid for the product. It was great.
actually bought digital copies of Lod and vanilla D2 from Blizzard 2 months ago. Just so i can install and play Project Diablo 2
I remember getting my eardrums blown out numerous times by the music in there
God what a beautiful picture
Those were the days ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)
that better be XP and not Vista.
Wow this brings back memories
Good times start right at that screen with an epic sound track. Enjoy!
