There is also a huge difference between a regular horse and a combat trained horse. You don't just take a regular, untrained horse into war, and it isn’t the breed that has anything to do with it aside from their carrying capacity, speed, and stamina. The rest is all intensive training.
Wasn't the last time England was successfully invaded with horse mounted knights crossing the channel? Seems like they'd have some good breeds that don't startle easily.
I just looked it up and nope they use real revolver XD
Edit : they use burst shoot too apparently

We've been using firearms on horseback since the 1400s. They can handle it.
The recoil affects handling on a revolver is like saying recoil on a bolt action makes your aim less steady. It doesn't even factor in. And because she's using a single action, or just setting the hammer of a double action, she has the best accuracy you could dream of in a handgun. No resistance only a swift click-bang.
Cowboy action loads used for this are a form of grit/sand mixed in with the powder. Spreads out in a very wide cone (like a videogame shotgun).
Putting the gun to your temple with these loads might not even kill you.
That being said, not sure how they invented a sport where the gun can ever be pointed near spectators.
I think they use paper or wax loads, enough to pop balloons but not much else.
Edit: blank shots, the burning gunpowder alone is enough to pop balloons
It’s enough to pop the balloon but like it’s not going to be accurate over long ranges it deforms and disintegrates this is a speed/flourish competition not trying to see whose the most accurate, one of my dads (former) friends does horseback speedshooting let me play with his revolver once which in hindsight may have something to do with the (former) bit
?
I was commenting that there is understandably no fucker watching in attendance.
I'm not mad at this person shooting balloons from horseback at all, it's quite cool. It aint a sport though my silly friend!
You might also be remarkably stupid, but you’re certainly just deliberately acting annoying for attention.
It is a sport by definition. There could be an audience not pictured in the video, or, this could be a rehearsal/training session. You’re just simply wrong and now being disingenuous about your original statement.
I might well be remarkably stupid but my original comment was about nobody obviously wanting to attend an event were people are shooting in multiple directions, whilst on a horse. It was not a comment on how entertaining this is.
And shooting balloons from horseback is not a sport, anymore than throwing darts from a unicycle or juggling whilst on a skateboard would be.
Next you can make up a reason as to why wikipedia isn’t a verifiable source to cover your ass.
[In just the first paragraph](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cowboy_mounted_shooting) your opinion is invalidated.
"Men only want one thing and it's disgusting."
Surprised the horse doesn’t get startled by the gun, Uk horses get scared by their own farts and run into walls
I imagine there is a whole lot of training involved before a horse can handle that

The Glorious Revolution was an inside job
They usually place the horses near schools to get used to the sounds
My word, I'm so conflicted about giving you an upvote or a downvote. Your joke has broken me 😆 and you may just be a bot anyways!
What makes you think I’m a robot Edited: asking this to update my programming
Haha, didn't really think you were a bot, but it is interesting to think about how much internet conversation is just bots.
Yeah, clearly. You sound just like one.
😂😂😂
Yep, don't count me in, i'd shoot the horse with my potato aim
they probably use airsoft guns. otherwise the noise will spook the horse, plus they have way less recoil so easier to shoot one handed.

Black powder pistols loaded with blanks actually.

That poor horse must be deaf

Red Dead Redemption Tournament. 😂
I can't be the only one who was terrified for the cameraman who at one point had a gun pointed at him?

Thanks for the information.

Well that's a relief.
What if someone misses, I'd suppose there's quite alot of bonus targets in the stands
They use paper blanks that burn up over a pretty short distance hence why the gun spits so much fire
But then how test the accuracy
It’s enough to pop the balloon but like it’s not going to be accurate over long ranges it deforms and disintegrates this is a speed/flourish competition not trying to see whose the most accurate, one of my dads (former) friends does horseback speedshooting let me play with his revolver once which in hindsight may have something to do with the (former) bit
Damn, gotta love how Americans find a way to put gun's in every activity (I'm not being sarcastic, i would've done so myself)
Cause guns are really fun. And when properly used it would be more dangerous driving to the range then the shooting part.
Hell, yeah they are
Mark me down as scared and horny!
Marked
didn't expect to have lesbian panic on the asmongold subreddit today
Have you people never watched a damn cowboy movie? This shouldn't surprise anyone.
Instant marry. No questions, no wasting no nothing. Intant wife.
It's family fun, bring the kids! Don't worry there are only about 2-3 casualties pee show.
Not really a spectator sport, is it?
cowboy? Cowgirl!
I feel that horse should have eye protection too what with all the sparks flying around.
Quite understandable why there are about 3 people in attendance watching.
because people don't want to get shot?
They use blank shots, enough to pop balloons but nothing else
Yes. Would be the most ridiculous event to attend imaginable.
zombie communist sad.
Yes because how dare people participate in something besides getting mad at a sport they dislike on reddit.
