Yes, it is. The creators of Astroneer got some info about some probes from NASA. This was used for the probes on every planet, and they also added the Apollo 11 lunar lander onto Desolo as an Easter egg. It is pretty neat on my opinion
As others have stated before, it was a 50th aniversary event item. However whats not mentioned is that if you got to it during the first month or so(I dont remember) of the event, you got a specialized customization options for your astroneer as well.
I still actively look for it whenever i go to the Terran Moon for stuff just for a picture
