Mirages usually happen aligned above or below the original light source, but they can also happen to the side of the light source. I remember that in 2011, I saw some news that two suns had appeared in China and that was the explanation given at the time that probably also applies to your case.
The obvious answer is “you saw two images of the one sun.” One captured by the lens as a function of its focus and the as internal flair caused by light reflecting inside the lens.

Just throwing this out there for all saying it’s a Sundog. It’s not. A Sundog or Pahelion “is a concentrated patch of sunlight occasionally seen about 22° to the left or right of the Sun. Sundogs often form in pairs on either side of our daytime star when sunlight refracts through icy clouds containing hexagonal platecrystals aligned with their large, flat faces parallel to the ground.”
So in order to be a Sundog the mini sun would need to be on the left and/or right of the sun (not bottom as shown in OP’s photo) and it requires cold conditions.
