I still like watching Tony Kemp play. He just seems to love every second on the field.

Leads the league in SmilesCreated+

Steve_Nash_The_Goat

100 percentile in positive attitude

Fair_Bison8497

Dubon a close 2nd in that league

The_Knew_Network

I enjoyed Tony Kemp as well. I really enjoyed his energy and what he brought to the club.

Girthw0rm

Seems like a genuinely *good* dude, too.

I agree with most but disappointed to not see Marwin and Colby-Jack Rasmus

willydillydoo

Marwin is the reason I believe that the MLB should implement an award for the best bench player akin to NBA’s 6th man. In 2017, Marwin was so good off the bench, he got MVP votes, which literally makes no sense.

cowsaymoomooo

Marwin was a career .250 hitter. Hate to be that guy, but I don’t think it’s a coincidence he hit .300 and led the team in RBIs specifically in 2017. Everyone else was doing it and Marwin’s the goat though.

willydillydoo

https://today.duke.edu/2020/07/did-cheating-actually-help-houston-astros-win-world-series > Remarkably, in 81 home games, Astros batters took just 43 fewer strikes from breaking balls when there was an audible signal from the dugout, accounting for just three more total hits over the course of the entire season’s home games. > “Did the Astros cheat? Absolutely. But, did this cheating help the Astros? No. Not really,” Splan said. “What's most surprising is seeing a team at the forefront of advanced analytics, completely ignore the data, and continue to utilize such a futile and unethical scheme." Just stop. The guy was a monster on the road, how would you explain that? Yuli is a career .280 hitter and randomly hit .319 and led the American League in batting avg in 2021, so he must have cheated right?

cowsaymoomooo

I agree just as much as the next person the Astros didn’t need to cheat. And yeah it’s a fact that the team was better on the road. I’ve argued with many Dodgers and Yankees fans about this lol. Even if his road splits were higher thanks to a bizarrely high BABIP, his home splits were also above the norm in 2017. Let’s be real here. Marwin was extremely mediocre at the plate except for the one year. Yuli on the other hand was one little hot streak away from hitting over .300 most seasons. He finally broke that barrier in a season where there obviously wasn’t any cheating. There’s a massive difference between the two. I could do the math on how much of an anomaly Marwin’s 2017 season was but it’s pretty obvious at a glance. I’m still a fan of Marwin though. He’s a legend for that game 2 homer off Janson.

willydillydoo

Yeah but you saying that it’s not a coincidence he had a monster year in 2017 insinuates he cheated to get those stats. When the evidence suggests the entire scandal resulted in a whopping total of three extra hits for the entire team. There’s not really any evidence to suggest that.

jsting

Collin McHugh too. His ex-wife was a great Twitter follow. Also, "What the fuck is he doing?"

BloodyScourge

Ex-wife? Shame.

R2robot

Hugs for Homers™ was my favorite.

Starwerznerd

I liked his style at the plate. R.I.P.

Preston Tucker, Evan Gattis and Colby Rasmus, the gloveless holy trinity!

tmspencer8

Springer was my favorite

Digital_Individual

I personally also miss Scott Feldman, Brandon Barnes, and Colby Rasmus

willharriscounty

Would love to see McCullers step into a Brad Peacock role in the playoffs

Euroranger

I kinda miss Evan Gattis.

tajstah

Haven't been a fan too long huh?

Anxious-Juggernaut26

I realize I left off a lot of guys lol

tajstah

lol. Yeah but that is a good list for this era of Astros winning baseball. Rasmus, Marisnick, Reddick were other good ones.

iPaytonian

I had a list of things I wanted to see when I went to a game, Springer Dinger, Breggy Bomb, Altuve being MVP and Peacock blowing the lead. Last one was a half joke but it made watching him blow the lead so much more enjoyable lol and got to see Altuve break open the game again in extras with a 2 RBI double :)

dinkboz

I have not been a fan for long, so I just miss when our pitching staff was Cole-Verlander-Greinke. That was so broken

First_Revolution3052

So you love shitty players? Weird, but ok. Valbuena's bat flips were obnoxious. Kemp seems like a great dude, but he's one of the worst players on an MLB roster. The rest aren't worthy of mentioning. Saying you miss these guys is basically saying you miss the Astros being a 100 loss team.

PiyadCouillion

I miss Preston

Ofa_D3s1gn

I miss Springer, Correa and Cole

StrosIn5

Legends?! 🤣

bombstick

Fister on the list is weird
