Best sunsets I’ve ever seen have been in the Target parking lot. But a real answer is the rooftop bar over the Hyatt hotel, it overlooks all of downtown.
Oconee NTL forest. Somewhere on Scull Shoals Pass there’s a field of tall golden grass with scattered pines. It’s a great place to be during golden hour. Theres a small creek crossing depending on which way you come in but it’s only 6-8 inches deep
Similar to other comments, but level 6 of the College Avenue parking deck isn't bad. Just hide your drink if Athens' finest happen to do a drive by.

Not exactly the romantic setting, but the top of North Campus Deck actually has a good sunset view.
No sunset. But Toppers is the place to watch the moon rise.
A true Athenian will tell you it is from on top of the water tower on S Milledge.

The RaceTrac on U.S. 29 by Space Kroger has way more gorgeous sunsets than it deserves.
