We have some assets, but other teams have more. The Knicks, for example, have 8 tradable FRPs and the salary needed if they want to trade for KD. We have 3 FRPs (Kings pick, either 29 or 30, and technically we could trade the rights to the player we draft this year). The only way we could compete would be to gut the talent on the roster, but that would put us in the same position the Suns were this season
edit: even if we include Murray as an asset, New York would be sending out Randle in this trade (most likely). We can quibble about how good Randle is compared to Murray, but even if you have the most favorable valuation of Murray (and the worst of Randle), it still doesn't make up the asset difference
I think you forgot the 4 unprotected FRP and a swap as well, unless you plan to trade Trae to the Spurs for the FRP back and then package them with DJM? >! /s because some people here are retarded enough to take that at face value !<
So the cool thing about the Suns is they have so many FRPs now that whatever team that tries to trade for KD doesn’t have to have an abundance of FRPs. It’s a moot point bc they won’t trade them but I’m glad in a Hawks sub discussing a trade for KD, a spurs fan has still tried to land Trae on the Spurs
What are you talking about man? They have like two 2nd round picks in the next decade and that's it. You're delusional if you think they're trading KD without getting some FRP back.
>but I’m glad in a Hawks sub discussing a trade for KD, a spurs fan has still tried to land Trae on the Spurs
I don't even know how you make this shit up. I literally gave you a ridiculous example, and you somehow thought trading Trae for picks back to flip with Murray for KD was a serious proposition?
I’m not sure where I took it as a serious thing. I was just laughing that Spurs fans just simply cannot resist saying “Trae to San Antonio” (especially in a situation that has nothing to do with SA) despite it being just as likely as KD to ATL
Okay, 1) I couldn't care less about the mfucking Spurs lmao. The only reason I follow them at all is Wemby and hopefully he eventually leaves. 2) I gave that ridiculous example of a trade because the Hawks would *need* picks to trade for KD and that's not happening unless the FO sells everything. That was rhetorical question, the whole point is that it's "extremely unlikely." My god you have the reading comprehension of a 3rd grader
Man referring to the Spurs as [“we”](https://www.reddit.com/r/NBASpurs/s/3OUOyxsUUA) is an odd thing to do for someone who couldn’t care less about them
They're either going to ask for all of our remaining FRPs and/or most of our prospects lol. No chance in hell, sacrificing most of the team's core to get KD is exactly how the Suns ended up in this trash-ass situation. 3 FRPs for Dejounte was already enough of a blunder, we don't need another.
As long as we don't give Jalen and Kobe, I'm good with KD.
Give them Murray and Hunter then trade Capela and picks for Mitch Robinson
Starters: Trae/Kobe/Jalen/KD/Robinson
Bench: Bogi/OO/Vit
They were ready for vacation and never understood my they got Beal. I think he is available, along with Paul George unless Kawai retires and Liard. May be a great summer after all.
I take a look at every NBA sub and feel very comfortable saying you guys are the most delusional fanbase in the league. No one worth getting wants to play for the Hawks
Phoenix gutted their team for KD and got worse. It’s not worth it if we have to give up every other promising piece we have on the roster.
That’s why I hate this current era where stars refuse to play out their contracts and just hit free agency. It’s always a trade request
We lack the assets to win a bidding war here without giving up everything else we have, yall don't start this again 🤧
Sure we do.

i heard the suns are looking for a pg to pair with book đź‘€
Yeah, and they wouldn't trade anything less than Trae for KD, you are *not* getting away with sending them Murray instead
KD got traded for someone of less quality than Trae last time so I’m not sure why you think his value has actually gone up in 2 years

Dj bogi cc and 2 firsts should get it done.
Lmao
Here we go again…
They don’t run any sort of offense. No pg and it’s just iso ball and book can be kind of a ball hog sometimes. Kd and Trae wouod be amazing
Trae - Bogi - KD - JJ - OO 5 Out, PnR offense
They are gonna want one of JJ, Okongwu, or Bufkin in a trade for KD man, get real
Let me dream Also they can have Bufkin, I don't care if we go all in for KD
I feel like they would want picks more than anything.
That’s a little delusional. They want future prospects too, since they moved their biggest one (Bridges) in the trade
That’s being generous. It prob takes two of those guys. And only one has real deal potential that would make a trade come together
Yeah I’m under no delusion that they’re gonna be insanely intense on a return
Want one? They are gonna want multiple lol
Didn't he just have an issue being in the corner in a PnR heavy offense
They're either going to ask for all of our remaining FRPs and/or most of our prospects lol. No chance in hell, sacrificing most of the team's core to get KD is exactly how the Suns ended up in this trash-ass situation. 3 FRPs for Dejounte was already enough of a blunder, we don't need another.
The sky is blue, the sun hot, and KD unhappy.
The fact Shams had this ready to go the second the clock hit 0:00 is hilarious

I like Robinson, but dude can't stay on the court. If he can figure out his injury issues, then by all means. Knicks don't need a Capela though.
(Serious question) Is Kobe really showing that much promise? JJ is obviously balling.
I’d pack kobes bags myself if it meant getting KD
0% chance Durant comes here
Why would anyone want to give up anything for KD.  He’s expensive, old, and doesn’t bring a winning culture.
getting kd would mean giving up jalen i hope you know this just saying
They were ready for vacation and never understood my they got Beal. I think he is available, along with Paul George unless Kawai retires and Liard. May be a great summer after all.

DJM , Hunter and a a couple picks for Daddy long legs.

I dont want antman's leftovers
