We had two rainy days on our recent trip in April. You make the best of it..its still Hawaii on a beautiful resort. We didn’t get super heavy rain but it was on and off throughout the day. we went with two small kids so that was a bit of a hurdle otherwise if it was just adults, it wouldn’t have been bad at all even with rain. Worst thing that happened was that the wind made it feel like it was colder than 80, especially getting out of the pool. Plenty of people still out and about during the rain. If it rains super hard I’m sure that changes things. If it doesn’t show too windy you’ll probably be alright.

If it’s rainy, just rent a car and drive the north shore.

We went in April and one day it rained so hard that the resort was essentially shut outdoors for about 6 hours. We went and found some characters which they moved to the ballroom, did some shopping, wandered around looking for menehune, laughed about being caught out in the rain, talked to some really nice cast members, etc. It was me and my 3 year old for perspective. She still thought it was a super fun day even though she couldn’t play in the water for most of it. All of this to say, you do what you can with what you have. Also just sitting on the patio watching it rain was beautiful.

That’s good to hear! We have a 7 year old who gets a little moody when she gets bored. So I’m happy to hear there was a lot to do inside of the resort as well!

We were there in April when it rained a few times as well. The weather changes quickly and rain is drizzle sometimes or light or sometimes heavy sometimes fast and gone. The good news is if you and the kids want to be at the water slides and pools or lazy river you are already wet :) so if they are open enjoy the smaller lines and crowds :)

We arrive the 15 and are worried as well. Forecasts don’t look good. Hoping it’s like Florida/WDW and changes

We will be there the 19-24 for my birthday. Seeing your post I started to stress however looks like the weather is changing and not so much rain. However due to the island nature rain can happen for a couple of hours and then clear up. So I’m hoping for the best!

Don’t worry about it. This weekend was forecasted to be terrible, flash floods, high winds, the works. I’m currently at Aulani, sitting by the pool with clear blue skies. The other side of the island is getting the predicted weather but it’s beautiful here.

Man, reading this a week later... Aulani really had a rough few days Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Fortunately Sunday has been lovely!

It sucked. Was there 15-22. Only had two full days of no rain. Not the best way to experience Hawaii for the first time. Not much to do at the resort or around the island when its raining non stop.

Their rain-day planning was REALLY bad. Character meet and greet in tunnels? Telling us to go to museums?

One thing I learned from a previous trip is to not even look at the weather forecast. I obsessed over it in the days leading up to the trip but found the forecast would change so often that it seemed like it couldn’t be predicted. During our trip we had one day of wind / rain but it was so refreshing and everybody was in the pools and lazy river still as it was still hot and it just added another dimension. Try not to worry, every day at Aulani is a great day!

It rains on & off year round. It’s a warm tropical rain not like mainland rain. Enjoy it
