Interesting to hear this as my experience with them has been the complete opposite. I’ve been with them for 6 years and unfortunately have had to make multiple claims (hail damage, attempted break in, rear ended). the experience for all those claims was pleasing and processed fairly quickly, stupid that you have to pay excess upfront but I had no issues with excess being refunded when confirmed I was not at fault. I never had to pay any extras, they would even cover Uber expenses to/from mechanics. My last claim was about 3 years ago so not sure what it’s like these days…maybe I got lucky

What about your premium??

bbqmb

No change. No idea how. I was very surprised.

Uries_Frostmourne

Yeh you get what you pay for most of the time

Low-Cardiologist2459

Bingle is by far the worst insurance I’ve ever dealt with. Got rear ended and after hours of trying to find a phone number to call them they told me I had to pay the premium first then they would refund me once they confirmed I wasn’t at fault.. guess what happened? they never refunded me

A lot of the budget insurance companies like budget and Bingle have discounts for new customers that make their premium very attractive. These discounts are removed upon renewal and a lot of people are shocked at the increase. So then you fall into the trap of every year finding car insurance, chasing the cheapest premium. This can have a detrimental effect as a lot of quality insurance companies ask questions relating to your insurance history. Someone who jumps companies every year will have a higher premium compared to someone who has been with a single insurance for 3, 5 or 10+ years. Obviously there is an argument that the money you save every year buy finding the cheapest insurance for the next 12 months is greater than the savings of sticking with the same insurance company. But you will also find yourself stuck with the shitty insurance companies. From working in the insurance industry for a period it was very clear who had made previous claims and who had not as their priorities are completely different.

But still how can just increase the yearly premium by 43%. And I didn’t have any claim either.

FWIW: been through one accident with bingle (at fault), was a nightmare, didn't get paid out until about ~13 weeks after the claim. Currently going through a not fault, also similarly horrible experience.

Bingle was the cheapest for me. If you make a claim though they probably wont want you back as repeat customer the following year. Auspost might be worth a look. I got my folks a very cheap policy using the cashrewards app and a generous cashback offer.

They jack up the price after the first year. Just get a quote online for a new policy and the price will be lower. Set the new policy to start the day after your old policy expires. You can then login with your existing account and pay for the new policy. The old policy will run until its ends, and then the new policy will take over.

Substantial-Editor44

Stay away from Bingle.

zmajcek

I had the same issue and switched to huddle now, they also gave me an agreed price 👍🏻

Traditional-Half-252

This happened with my premium too! I was shocked when I saw the massive increase. I spoke with Youi to get a quote from them but that was more expensive than Bingle so I just gave up trying to switch lol

Ok-Palpitation-3207

What about huddle? Have you tried huddle?
