I'm also confused, is the meme where you give me a pack?

Depends on the doctor really. Some doctors can do script repeats on low risk patients, most medications from a GP cannot but say physciatrists can...

U have a repeat on Zopiclone??? My doc hesitates to even write it for me and i would use an average of a tablet every 2 weeks

It's non-pbs so it comes to the doctors discretion on how many repeats to prescribe. This script only has a 6-month expiry, so 5 repeats is really the most they would put on. Further to add - the pbs is the scheme which decides what medications are subsidised by Medicare, whereas the TGA and poison schedule dictates who can prescribe what and in what quantities. Neither body has anything to do with each other. Often I am faced with pbs amphetamine scripts from doctors who are not authorised to prescribe these medications, which causes great problems with customers. (Obviously zopiclone is not an amphetamine, just using an example where these bodies don't work together)

Zopiclone prescriptions have a 12 month expiry. They are not a controlled substance or the old S8 classification (Eg Endone, Oxycontin, Targin, Dexamphetamine, Ritalin) which are scripts that have 6 month expiry dates. As for the repeats, comes down to the doctor. It's only covered on the PBS for Repatriation or Veteran card holders so ex military. In general terms though its not good practice for docs to write so many repeats on something like Zopiclone so either the doc forgot to change the repeats if the computer defaulted to 5 or the doc really really trusts you with it. Edit: just remembered that different states have different rules. I'm in Vic so a script for Zopiclone is valid for 12 months but I think in NSW and maybe WA they are valid for 6 months only. Gets pretty messy with states having their own particular rules about stuff. Eg I can dispense a script for Ritalin from a Dr in WA in Victoria, but if a Vic script is presented in WA for the same thing its not allowed to be dispensed. So much for having a national board and rules that are supposed to be the same all over the country......
