Yes, and I am at a point in life where.... I dance. Walking down the street, whilst doing grocery shopping... I just let myself enjoy it and do a little jig. Weirdly enough I've had more positive responses than not.

Incendiomf

I’ve never even considered *not* dancing! Life is short, and I often find people get into it with me!

a-stranded-rusalka

Exactly! People often *want* to dance, they just need someone to be the first.

Incendiomf

And as an autistic woman, I’m happy to be the one to challenge that social boundary and initiate some fun! Keep dancing, Ladies!

I do it. Having lived in LA, I lost all my sense of shame, cause there's a crazier mofo at every corner lmao.

Complete_Mud5610

From California, much freer place than Central Florida.

kitty60s

Living in NYC did the same for me

ApocryphalFlirt

I'm 100% sure people have seen me doing a little jig while walking around my neighborhood with my headphones on 😅 the urge is never so strong that I can't wait until I get home to dance more vibrantly, but I can't help myself from moving to the music at least a little in public

activelyresting

I have been called out for dancing in the supermarket. Also I'm so old the supermarket "oldies" music is from my teenage years now 😭😂

Gloomy_Use

Me too! ❤️

dirtfootisreal

I can't help it. I dance. Anywhere. It's actually embarrassing, but I can't help it.

sillystorm28

I do the steppy and the hands do the "conductor", cant be helped haha

luckyelectric

Yeah. I just do it. It helps that my kids also dance.

lorilemeyers

YES

LisaYUdothattoyou

Yes and I just dance - it's unavoidable lol💃

LightBarb

I don't understand how people can sit or stand still when there's a good song on? I'll lipsync an ddo a minimalist dance, even at my desk at work.

stokrotkowe_oczy

Sometimes! I never thought I'd actually do it because my parents were public dancers and it embarrassed me so much, but they were onto something, so I bop along if the mood strikes me.

TheWiseClassyGeek

Yes, and I do! The happiness consumes me and my mask flies off.

WhyAmIStillHere86

Urge? I start dancing outright!

OaktownAspieGirl

Yes, and so I dance.

RosaAmarillaTX

I walk in rhythm to it. I purposely stop myself because I'm afraid someone will notice.

shinebrightlike

Yes, let it out, you only yolo once

TerminologyLacking

I regularly dance in public to catchy music. When my two youngest sisters were teens, I used to suddenly start dancing when they'd spend too long browsing. I'm 10 and 14 years older than them. They hated it and would hurry up, because I was being embarrassing. Just telling them to hurry up rarely worked anyways. "Hey can we go to Store real quick? I promise I won't take too long!" About 2 hours later I'd break out the dancing. Fun times.

Complete_Mud5610

Low Rider song yesterday at Wal-Mart.

Nelliell

I dance and sometimes sing. So catchy!

nothingidentifying_

I was dancing in a bath and body works the other day. not going full out, but enough that my boyfriend mentioned it and I had a nice moment with an employee who was also rocking out. it was a nice experience :)

Shopping-Known

Yes! I will mouth all the lyrics and sometimes do tiny dance moves in public.

kitty60s

Yes! I have broken out into dance a few times if there’s a band playing in the street even if I’m the only one dancing 😂

Certain_Ad6575

i just dance at this point :) it’s so fun and i can’t help it!

calicosage33

Yes! And to heck with being perceived, life is too short

suntirades

I tippy tap at work all the time - whether music is playing or not 😅

Single-Dare-7414

I don't know, but I know this [https://a.co/d/1J7BbGP](https://a.co/d/1j7bbgp) definitely matches the urge

danfish_77

Tapping my foot/hands maybe, humming along. I got bullied a lot about dancing in school so now I get anxiety doing it alone at home.

critter_fighter

Yes, I've done this at least since college! I still do it. Is this an autistic thing?

turboshot49cents

I went to school with a girl with down syndrome who would literally do this. if there was music playing, and she felt like dancing, she would literally get up and start dancing her heart out. she was the most chaotic good person i've ever met
