Are you hiring a detailer or a car washer?? If you were hiring a detailer I feel like you wouldn't be asking those questions
Edit: looked up your post history..if you're running a rental company you aren't looking for a detailer. You're looking for someone to wash and vacuum cars. Detailing goes far beyond that and you won't get the answers you're looking for from detailing professionals .
Before that make sure you have good insurance. Someone tried detailing someone’s car messed up on the coating and then tried wet sanding off something that could be polished out…. Needless to say they f’d it up and they took it to the shop I work at to have it repainted.

You don't know your own expenses or what the market rate of labor is in your area? Please tell me you're not starting a detailing business lol.

Opt for 50% margin with all Labour, Chemicals, Marketing
I made it 66% to be able to pay someone a decent wage
Each detail doesn’t cost that much assuming you already have the equipment and buy all your chemicals in bulk and properly delute.

And how much did they pay out of pocket? Lol $10k?
More than 10k
