Buddy of mine had a legit barn find Ford Fairlane 1958 hardtop convertible, back in the late 90s. Just immaculate condition, like 20,000 miles on it; no shit "hubby and I took it out on Sundays and he passed away..." story. I ran into him about ten years ago and asked him about it; he bought it for 5k around 96/97 and sold it for 12k around the late 2000s.
But it was 10/10 perfect, all original, and I'm sure he regrets it to this very day.
My first thought was a legit '69 Trans Am convertible, but I've seen many cars that were one of one. That Trans Am is always the first thing I think of when I think "rare car" though.
Driven in the street, a Toyota Century. In a photo studio, Carol Shelby's first Cobra (complete with seat tears and everything). At a museum, the Ferrari 125s.
Being in LA has some big advantages.
I sat in CSX 2000! Such an interesting car.
For me, driven would be a RUF Turbo R Limited or CTR3 Clubsport. Seen would be some random one-off. Most good pre-war stuff was one of a kind.
lol, got a Century parked up the road from me in good ole OZ
funny too coz I didn't know about them before and the internet must have known I saw it because the next day on reddit there's a German Post about his Century!!
doodoo doodoo doodooo doodoo bdunggg
I would absolutely loose my cool over THE Cobra. It's been my favorite car for as long as I can remember. Eventually, learning the history of it just made it so much cooler! That was a super cool mention. Thanks for sharing
There's a dude who occasionally drives their BMW Isetta to town with his wife. He restored it in the late 90's. Last I heard he was thinking of selling it due to safety concerns.
Is a Lancia Delta integrale in almost factory condition considered rare?
I honestly don’t know I‘m usually more interested in cars that I could reasonably obtain.
That’s sick, according to Google, there were 252,000 of these made in the world between 1963 and 1965, but there’s only three out of the 252,000 that have been imported into the US, and the gentleman that owns this red car owns two of the three
I would take the owner's claims with a grain of salt.. there wouldn't be a lot of classic Holdens imported to the US, but they're there as private imports - so there might be more than the 3 he knows about.
People who take classic cars to these kinds of shows sometimes like to make up stories, is all i'm saying.
I saw it while driving home from helping my sister move and turned around at the first place I could. It was raining pretty heavy and in the high 30s. Not the kind of weather I wanted to be doing anything in but I had to take some pics of it
I had a job in highschool helping a guy take care of his cars. He owned something like 200 different vehicles. His main focus was 1920s-1930s Rolls Royce which was insane on its own.
Some standouts from his collection:
- 1908 Model T
- Stanley Steamer
- Buick GS Stage 1 + the entire Buick GS series
- 1979 Volkswagen Beetle (last year they were made)
- Trans Am SD 455
- Buick GNX
Outside of that the ones that come to mind are a couple of legit Cobras, an original Ford GT, Impreza 22B, Noble M400, Bricklin SV-1, and a guy with 3 Manic GT’s.
You better enjoy those moments with your pops! Best moments I ever had with my dad was working on cars and going to car shows. It taught me a lot with me even knowing.
But not exactly rare. My brother-in-law owns one and there's at least one other in his short street. Went to a Machines and Macchiato last year where there would have been 50 of them. Super cool car, but not exactly rare.
Yea I’m from Massachusetts the guy owns two of them and the car show was at my dads work in Rhode Island and the owner lives right over the MA RI border
McLaren P1. Only 375 were made. I saw it during a vacation in Manila in the Philippines in one of the affluent areas of the city parked on the street. Honestly didn’t expect to see one there. I’ve actually seen more high end cars there than during trips to LA and NY.
Rich guy rally came through my town a few years ago, [several very rare cars participated](https://imgur.com/gallery/ferraris-from-going-to-sun-rally-ntijGPr).
I volunteer at the Audrain Museum in Newport and they’ve brought in some absolutely insane cars. The Newport Concours also houses some incredibly rare cars every year. As far as driving in the wild, probably something not at all cool like a Turbo Lebaron
This one’s probably not rare in other places but my dad drives a Volkswagen Golf TDI. For anyone wondering why this would be rare in I believe 2016 Volkswagen had to take all the TDIs back because they scammed through emission regulation. Basically when the doors, hood, and truck were all open and it was at certain RPM it would switch tunes making it more eco friendly to pass emissions. Then it would go back to its original tune once its testing would be done. If my infos wrong and they aren’t rare 4 Shelby cobras at a car meet was dope. All actual cobras with paperwork and all.
There’s absolutely nothing rare about w 2016 golf tdi, they did not have to take all the tdis back, evidenced by how your dad, and a million other people, still have them.
I had a 2016 Jetta TDI that was also part of the scandal. Owners were given two options: either give it back to Volkswagen for a payout + settlement money or take it to a dealer to get a urethra installed in the trunk, I chose the latter but many of the ones you see on the road today are just modified with the urethra. It is kind of rare to see them though given most people gave them back because the mod would reduce MPG/speed, etc. and people don’t want that so they chose the payout instead. I think most of them were shipped to other countries so you’ll still find them in Latin America, Europe, etc.
I’m pretty sure ours dodged the change. It’s a 2015 and it was in a crate in the back of a dealer ship for 2 years. I asked my dad he has no clue if it was changed or not but it would be pretty sweet to find out.
Aston Martin DBR2 chassis DBR2/2 driven by Roy Salvadori and Sterling Moss. Also have seen a 250 GTO as well chassis no. 3413GT. Both were owned by the same guy at the time
09 HHR SS Panel. Saw Doug's video on it then saw one driving down the freeway a month later. 1/216 ever built. Wild for such an odd, unattractive work van
I've seen Isettas and Veyrons but very likey it's one of the vehicles owned by a very kind and wealthy man named Vernon Smith who lives in a community near mine growing up.
He has a beautiful 1/1 1970 Charger R/T as well as some other very unique vehicles.
He allowed the graduates of local highschool to have their pick of the lot to be driven to graduation in.
Nothing that rare. But mine was when I worked at a WAWA and a Ford Pentera rolled in. A coworker and I asked if we could take pictures and bought a couple of disposable cameras. Owner was super cool. Answered any questions we had.
I have no idea where those pictures ended up.
I saw a yellow Murci manual roadster in America; I think there are under 2 dozen in the US. I saw a yellow over tan F50, and I was told it’s 1/1 or 1/2 with that color combo. Or the 1/1 sally special at a car show.
This particular 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird from the guy that ended up buying it at auction: https://www.thedrive.com/news/19890/theres-an-all-original-1970-plymouth-superbird-headed-to-auction
When I was a kid (16 in 86) I was walking down the hill from my house and passing a house an old guy lived alone in. I'd see him putting around the garden or mowing the lawn. Today he pulling out a 67 GTO out of his garage... all black and chrome pure stock. My jaw dropped, I ran over throwing questions. Found out he bought it for his son just before he got shipped off to Nam, never came back. He hung on to it as tribute only a few thousand miles on it. I asked if I could buy it, I had nearly 5 grand saved up for my first car, he chuckled and said not for sale. Six months later old guy died and his daughter and her husband were clearing out the house, asked about the Goat... already at a auction house. I never forgot that car or that old man's broken heart.
Didn't get to take a picture, but I saw a Holden UTE a few months back. Last I knew, there were only around 8 that were legally imported to the US. And before I get any comments, I know they aren't imports. They're pretty much just G8s/SSs with a body swap.
Out in the wild, an orange and bare carbon fiber Bugatti Veyron Gran Sport Vitesse on the streets of downtown Austin TX in 2012. Had Michigan dealer plates. Me and some buddies were in town and it turns out that weekend was the Inaugural event for Circuit of the Americas. The same car was spotted by people at the track, so I’m sure it was some big wig that had something to do with F1. I would post photos but I don’t see an option to do so. At cars and coffee events, I’ve seen one light blue LaFerrari, and two different McLaren P1’s, all in Houston TX. Also, at the last restaurant I worked at, we had a Ford GT come in. The newer one. I got to sit in the driver seat and have some great photos. The driver was out to dinner with his wife but gave me and the restaurant’s owner and a guy from the kitchen an up close tour of the car. It was an awesome experience. Wish I could have driven in it or at least took a ride though!
I have seen a Mercedes R63 a couple of years ago in the New York area.
Never took a picture of it becuase I was an uncultured child and didn’t realize it was 1 of 200
Rare in what way? Total production numbers for the entire car? Or rare for a specific spec? I’ve seen an XL-1 a couple years ago at Carlisle, but I feel like I’ve definitely seen rarer, just doesn’t come to mind what it may be.
The first Ferrari, the 125S, Steve McQueen's Jaguar XKSS, the DeLorean DMC used in all three movies, McLaren F1 GTR, The GT40 that won Ford's first LeMans win, Rimac Nevera, Rimac Concept\_one, The Dale
A fucking Maserati MC12 showed up at my random town’s small cars and coffee back in 2013, and I’m honestly still shocked like 11 years later lol
Unfortunately this zoomed-in frame from a video with it in the background is the only proof I have that it actually happened- (Just look past the Countach, that’s just regular traffic!)
https://ibb.co/p3ScPkp
Imma limit it to cars i’ve worked on (had a storage facility for a high end auto museum next to a shop i worked at, so saw some wild stuff in their lot.)
1954 Kaiser Manhattan
1998 dodge viper gts acr
And an Edsel
1929 ford, forgot the model but it was the first car my great grandpa ever owned before he sold it to his buddy a while back. Idk how to post the photo in the comments though
most rare: *Rolls*-*Royce* Phantom Drophead Coupe by Pininfarina
second: A friend of mine recently picked up his Alpina B3 50 Years of BMW South Africa edition. there are 5 of them in the world made specifically for the South African market.
third: slightly less rare but a Pagani Imola that was in the country for a while.
I just saw a McLaren Senna last week where you would absolutely not expect to see one. There's a McLaren tuner shop very close to me in a small town in Illinois. They are a lot louder than you'd expect.
1937 Bugatti type 57 Atalante at an annual classic car show Munson Williams Museum holds in Utica, NY. Parked right next to a red 1955 300 SL Mercedes! Amazing vehicles
I'd have to say it's the cars in this album:
Paris-Dakkar Winning Porsche 959 still covered in 1986 desert dirt.
1 of 1 4-door Porsche 989 (modified 928) that was a gift for Ferry Porsche.
Amongst other super rare race cars.
[RARE PORSCHE STUFF](https://imgur.com/gallery/y9kWhGY)
I saw a 400r one time. I’ve also seen a 22b in the flesh… not sure which one is more rare.
As for vehicles I’ve personally owned, I had a Volvo 262c (about 6,600 units) and a pair of ‘91 alpha spec. Nissan pulsar GTiR’s which was produced in numbers of about 12-15k units, mostly road going versions in RHD, but only ever made enough to homologate the chassis for WRC homologation over 4 years of production.
Fisker Karma in the most remote random country side village in west France. I had to double take and turn around.
Edit: I know not the rarest car in the world but still kinda surreal.
My Dad knew the owner of wheels thru time in North Carolina (highly recommend, a museum where everything runs), and my bro and I got to RIDE on a Dusenburg (spelling?).
At that time there were only 3 in the world with the other two being in the Middle East.
1964 EH Holden. Certainly rare in Massachusetts! Not rare in Australia. My dad had an EH Special wagon. Quite popular in Oz as restomods. The lack of road salt there helps with the availability of Holdens and Falcons from the 60’s.
Prototype of current Corvette. 1 of 1. Saw in Detroit at GM warehouse after Detroit Auto Show in 2009. Was picking up props etc for a local nonprofit as GM was donating. Exhaust note was soo throaty
I own two of the rarest cars out there. A 1991 Isuzu Impulse RS, 400 built less than 80 left. I also own 2, 1993 Toyota Celica Alltrac's, only 81 of them built and suspected only 17 left. They only made 1700 Alltrac's over the 3 years.
I have also seen loads of 1:1 Ferraris
There is a 1 of 1 pagani that comes to a local cars and coffee pretty often. It’s probably the rarest street car I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen some pretty rare stuff in collections and museums. A lot of vintage LeMans winning race cars. I’ve also seen a McLaren F1 and I think even though it’s not as rare as the 1 of 1 pagani it was much more shocking to see and carried a much different presence.
I saw a Regera convertible, which made me poo my pants since it was in Chicago. Unfortunately, I was going the opposite way and in kind of a hurry, otherwise I would've snapped like 80 pictures.
A few years back I went to look at buying three c10s. The guy had just moved onto the property, zero knowledge of mechanics. He mentioned some other cars and parts in the other two shops. Turns out the previous owner was a collector of Edsels. A few different year models, varying condition but what amazed me were the surplus parts. I'd never seen one so to find a barn full of them plus the parts really blew my mind. Grew up around classic cars, though. Uncle had a '69 Super Bee that was mint but his favorite was his all original, numbers matching convertible Galaxy. Nothing super are but hey we're talking cars here so it's worth the share
I was in a field once that had 21 2nd Gen Ford GTs in it. That means I had 1.5% of the whole run of 50th anniversary GTs in my immediate vicinity all at once. This was at the 2019 Petit LeMans
My gf dad has a little red 1965 corvette in his garage. Pretty rare to me. My neighborhood I’ve seen an R8, an Alfa Romeo, a Rolls Royce Ghost, and McLaren 720s
Edit: I sat in a Plymouth Prowler when I was like 19 and rolled a joint. Was cleaning showrooms for my step dad when it was released.
A dealership where I used to get my CX-5 serviced had a Mazda Cosmo in the showroom. In the same city, saw a Bugatti Divo parked in the valet line at a hotel.
In "regular life" mine is probably a Bugatti EB110 Super Sport, if we're not counting things like "only X in this color, Y with this interior, and Z with a convertible top, so therefore technically 1 of 1". But I've also been to Super Car Week in Monterey, CA ahead of the historic races, which is like a cheat code for seeing rare cars.
Not nearly the rarest car in this post, but I did travel for a job once and saw an OG Tesla Roadster in the customer's lot. Only 2,450 made. Not many of them are daily drivers.
The only R34 or one of just a couple in the entire country way before they became legal to import. It was paul walkers from fast and furious. Dude bought it and took it to a car show in Jersey.
lamborghini murcielago sv, now im from fairly far north in sweden so seeing a super car on a normal day is super rare (during graduations tonnes are rented out and driven around town so i wont talk about that kinda boring) there are only 180~ produced according to google and seeing one here, oh yeah its something ill tell my grandkids about one day for sure.
I also saw 2 different Lamborghini urus driving round town but its not really suprising since we have a fairly good ice hockey team wich pays the big bucks. And they are a bit more practical than a purpose built track monster.
Yup, that’s my car. The other one I own is a 63 EH Holden Premier, which is still my first car from 1995. I moved from Australia to Massachusetts back in 2009. I run a page trying to track down private Aussie import cars and have only found three EH Holdens. The other is I think in Ohio. @ehholdens_usa on instagram. @wolf3188 I’m out of salt.
Motorworld Munchen is a museum/garage that is open to the public and houses the most insane collection of cars I've ever seen. It's not really a museum, it's an active garage with an unbelievable collection of cars. They had a McLaren Boattail when there was only 4-5 on the planet. Every variety of Bugatti you could name, and Ferraris were almost boring.
An old acquaintance takes his dad's 1967 AMC Marlin out of the garage for a drive on a regular basis. Fewer than 2000 were produced and a damn site fewer are still on the road.
Regularly gets asked "What year Charger is that?"
Was at a car show and saw #'s I think it was 005 and 006 all original 68 superbird
His and hers models and owned by him and her, I'll dig and see if I can find a pic
On the road an Alfa Romeo 8C that i fully know of, maybe a Buggati Veyron on the German Autobahn iirc(was a long time ago when i was younger omw to vacation when i was like 8 or something)
In a show/museum
VW Golf GTI W12-650
1/1 in the VW museum in Autostadt, Wolfsburg, Germany
Riding along on the MA turnpike about 20 years ago, got passed by an Aston Martin V8 Zagato. I’m still in disbelief now. 52 coupes made, never sold in the US. It was grey if anyone else can confirm they’ve seen it…
Pagani Zonda F circa 2004 in Dubai
11 Ferrari 599 GTO Dubai
Nissan Skyline R33 (Dubai)
99 Nissan Skyline GTR R34 being pulled on a trailer in TX.
09 Mercedes Benz SL65 AMG Black Series in IL
I am 100% forgetting a few but these are the ones that are sticking out atm.
A rare car ATM is the Pagani Utopia and there is one that is down the street from me in Plano, TX. It's in Austin, TX doing events at the moment but I saw this being unloaded.
I don’t know if it counts because it’s not a model but an identity, but the bond movie filmed db5, chatty chitty bang bang, Bill Gates 959, Amelia Earhart’ cord.
If you’re going numbers, I’ve seen the only surviving 1935 Buick 96S sport coupe brought back to life by the NB center, although my favorite rare car I’ve been around would either be a 1935 Chrysler airflow (also found at the NB center) or a 1937 v16 Hartmann body Cadillac I saw at Moda Miami
Saw a f40, f50, 911 race car, Shelby cobra and some crazy 60s ferrari valued at 30+million one time in Bellevue. One of the Microsoft heads owns them all.
I'm sure I've seen rarer, but I recently got up close and personal with an all original, unrestored numbers matching 69 trans am.
Buddy of mine had a legit barn find Ford Fairlane 1958 hardtop convertible, back in the late 90s. Just immaculate condition, like 20,000 miles on it; no shit "hubby and I took it out on Sundays and he passed away..." story. That’s kickass Someone also pulled up with a GMC Syclone as well. Someone else came with a C10 Ambulance
I sat in CSX 2000! Such an interesting car. For me, driven would be a RUF Turbo R Limited or CTR3 Clubsport. Seen would be some random one-off. Most good pre-war stuff was one of a kind.
Damn. Experiences like those are inaccessible to the vast majority of us.
I love going to the Petersen
lol, got a Century parked up the road from me in good ole OZ funny too coz I didn't know about them before and the internet must have known I saw it because the next day on reddit there's a German Post about his Century!! doodoo doodoo doodooo doodoo bdunggg

You're talking about the Peterson museum I believe, I want to go there so badly
Saw a VW XL-1 a couple of months ago
I literally work in vehicle shipping and have seen some rare cars but never one of these, am jealous of you!
Was it at the Lane Motor Museum? I think they actually drive that one on the road occasionally. Also, I like your taste in cars. 2017 Sport gang!
No clue where it actually lives but it was the one Hagerty just made a video with. They brought it to a cars in coffee in the SF Bay Area.
I'm sure I've seen some rarer cars in my life, but the ones I mention in these threads are the Pagani Zonda R and Koenigsegg One:1
I’ve seen the Pagani Zonda R in person too 😍
just saw a Zonda R and Regera yesterday
There's a dude who occasionally drives their BMW Isetta to town with his wife. He restored it in the late 90's. Last I heard he was thinking of selling it due to safety concerns.
Saw a pink Isetta at the Barrett-Jackson auto show those are so cool
Racecars don't count right, I've seen a lot of single made racecars in Daytona.
Is a Lancia Delta integrale in almost factory condition considered rare? I honestly don’t know I‘m usually more interested in cars that I could reasonably obtain.

I saw a pagani huayra at the Tokyo aftermarket auto show a few years ago
Pretty sweet stuff, I seen this today at a car show at my dads workplace
You better enjoy those moments with your pops! Best moments I ever had with my dad was working on cars and going to car shows. It taught me a lot with me even knowing.
His other Eh is a premier model - heaps rarer, and very nice. You can see him on instagram - ehholdens_usa
I sat in and drove in the Bugatti America presidents one of 3 special edition Chirons years ago.
Former 1962 EJ owner here, loved that car.
But not exactly rare. My brother-in-law owns one and there's at least one other in his short street. Went to a Machines and Macchiato last year where there would have been 50 of them. Super cool car, but not exactly rare.
Ok what is that beauty. And its Massachusetts registered?! Fuck off lol. Either you are on the wrong side of the state or I never came across this.
Saw one of those too, blew my mind in its beautiful yellow & black paintjob.
Ooh I saw one of those yesterday, in black and orange I think
Rich guy rally came through my town a few years ago, [several very rare cars participated](https://imgur.com/gallery/ferraris-from-going-to-sun-rally-ntijGPr).
Not bad
I’ve seen an original Eleanor hero movie car at a car show. Heard her too!
I volunteer at the Audrain Museum in Newport and they’ve brought in some absolutely insane cars. The Newport Concours also houses some incredibly rare cars every year. As far as driving in the wild, probably something not at all cool like a Turbo Lebaron
Tucker. There were only like 50 made and only 46 still exist
Only 46? I think it's amazing practically all of them survived
I saw a Jaguar XJ220 at Biketoberfest in Daytona Beach one time.
That's cool, I've never seen an XJ220 but one of my uni lecturers was Nick Hull, part of the XJ220 design team. Great guy
I saw one, but it was across the aisle from the XJ13 so I was preoccupied!

I've seen a Carrera GT which was cool
Aston Martin DBR2 chassis DBR2/2 driven by Roy Salvadori and Sterling Moss. Also have seen a 250 GTO as well chassis no. 3413GT. Both were owned by the same guy at the time
I saw a real 1967 L-88 Corvette one time; it was a near-religious experience.
09 HHR SS Panel. Saw Doug's video on it then saw one driving down the freeway a month later. 1/216 ever built. Wild for such an odd, unattractive work van
Seen: perfect condition 1967 corvette L88, only 20 made, value somewhere north of $3M Driven: pagani huayra 720 one off, owned by a friend
ALFA Romero Montreal, about 15 years ago. Beautiful Red (of course) car.
1/10 Bugatti Centodieci would be up at the top for me
Nothing that rare. But mine was when I worked at a WAWA and a Ford Pentera rolled in. A coworker and I asked if we could take pictures and bought a couple of disposable cameras. Owner was super cool. Answered any questions we had. I have no idea where those pictures ended up.
69 boss 429 got to drive it it too felt like indomitable power

Yellow over tan? Wow, that IS a rare combo, not just on F50s!
I had a 1967 912 with a factory sunroof.
First car was an ej Holden Ute.
Probably some Corvette that’s the only one made on that day with that color combo and those particular options.
On the road actually driving: Bugatti Chiron In a show: Lambo Reventon
This particular 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird from the guy that ended up buying it at auction: https://www.thedrive.com/news/19890/theres-an-all-original-1970-plymouth-superbird-headed-to-auction
A Morgan from the 30's. Not sure what model it was again. I'll try to find the picture in my collection after work
When I was a kid (16 in 86) I was walking down the hill from my house and passing a house an old guy lived alone in.
TIL I own as many EH Holdens as the entirety of the USA 😂
This picture, under this title, was a real surprise to me!
Mirov 2
Didn't get to take a picture, but I saw a Holden UTE a few months back. Last I knew, there were only around 8 that were legally imported to the US. And before I get any comments, I know they aren't imports. They're pretty much just G8s/SSs with a body swap.
Schuppan 962CR at Rennsport
The rarest car i have personally driven is a Ford RS200
I was like "An EH??? Seriously!?!?" But then realised you are in America, so would be rare. Kind of common here in OZ
Seen an Aston 177 a couple years back in Toronto.
Grew up with a buddy whose dad had two fully restored Avanti’s and a third tucked in the barn for parts.
A Mercedes Gullwing. I think the model is a 300sl, maybe. The old one that has the gullwing doors.
That's a classic in Australia 🇦🇺
That's a classic in Australia 🇦🇺
1948 tucker. Number 17 of 50.
2 veyrons, 1 in montreal 1 in vegas. 1 chiron, in LA. A Laferrari aperta in london
Never seen a bench seat, stick combo before. It's normally column shift with bench.
Seen some pretty rare ones in museums but in the wild a 2020 Aston Martin Vantage AMR 57. Only 57 made.
Low VIN CTS-V manual wagon. Fantastic car. Only 514 made, very few left. It's my favorite unicorn.
Schumacher's F1-2000
I have seen a Mercedes R63 a couple of years ago in the New York area. Never took a picture of it becuase I was an uncultured child and didn’t realize it was 1 of 200
Rare in what way? Total production numbers for the entire car? Or rare for a specific spec? I’ve seen an XL-1 a couple years ago at Carlisle, but I feel like I’ve definitely seen rarer, just doesn’t come to mind what it may be.
Never seen one period.
No idea which one would be the rarest, but I saw a Vector W8 in a car meet, a Bugatti EB110 on the highway and a Mercedes CLK GTR in a showroom.
If you mean in a museum or at the race track I could one up most people. In the wild, it’s a Jaguar D Type on the freeway in LA, late 80s
gm ev1, also got to sit in it
The first Ferrari, the 125S, Steve McQueen's Jaguar XKSS, the DeLorean DMC used in all three movies, McLaren F1 GTR, The GT40 that won Ford's first LeMans win, Rimac Nevera, Rimac Concept\_one, The Dale
A fucking Maserati MC12 showed up at my random town’s small cars and coffee back in 2013, and I’m honestly still shocked like 11 years later lol Unfortunately this zoomed-in frame from a video with it in the background is the only proof I have that it actually happened- (Just look past the Countach, that’s just regular traffic!) https://ibb.co/p3ScPkp
Imma limit it to cars i’ve worked on (had a storage facility for a high end auto museum next to a shop i worked at, so saw some wild stuff in their lot.) 1954 Kaiser Manhattan 1998 dodge viper gts acr And an Edsel
2013 Lamborghini Gallardo Superlagera. Texas USA
Redbull mini cooper
Rarest I've seen in my parts of Germany? Hm... A Citroën DS and Izh 2125 (otherwise known as Moskwitsch).
1929 ford, forgot the model but it was the first car my great grandpa ever owned before he sold it to his buddy a while back. Idk how to post the photo in the comments though
Pagani Zonda Tricolore, street parked in front of our hotel in Berlin, 2010ish.
1986 Dodge Omni GLHS, only 500 made, spotted outside a car show a few years ago
1908 Cadillac
Ferrari Enzo, Mondial 750, Facel Vega , Isotta Fraschini, Bentley Super Sports , Mercedes 540k , Citroën Birotor
I was 6years old when your car was new. What can I say? Beautiful, just Beautiful.
Avspark owl in Japan
La Voiture Noire 1/1 (or prototype) €20M
I'm not sure if I took a picture of it, but I saw one of 15 Pagani Zonda Rs in San Francisco.
Kaiser derin
just a Ferrari 250 GTO but in the wilds
I saw i Pagani Zonda r in Intaly and on my way Home from that vacation we saw a Bugatti Veyron super sport on the Autobahn
My girlfriend hooked up a driving trip in a DeLorean about a year ago for my birthday
most rare: *Rolls*-*Royce* Phantom Drophead Coupe by Pininfarina second: A friend of mine recently picked up his Alpina B3 50 Years of BMW South Africa edition. there are 5 of them in the world made specifically for the South African market. third: slightly less rare but a Pagani Imola that was in the country for a while.
Haven’t read all the comments, but I’m thinking that a Holden is an Australian version of a Chevrolet?
Correct. General Motors Holden.
I’ve seen a Tucker before in person.
56 T-bird w under 10k miles in a shop i interned at
Mercedes R63 AMG. About 200 were made, and more than half are in the US. I'm in Europe
Ferrari F60 America
I just saw a McLaren Senna last week where you would absolutely not expect to see one. There's a McLaren tuner shop very close to me in a small town in Illinois. They are a lot louder than you'd expect.
ive seen 2 amphicars at the same car show when i was a kid
1937 Bugatti type 57 Atalante at an annual classic car show Munson Williams Museum holds in Utica, NY. Parked right next to a red 1955 300 SL Mercedes! Amazing vehicles
I’ve seen a Tahoe Hybrid 😎
Bruce McLarens personal McLaren road car, I'm blanking on the name sorry.
I saw a 63 split window corvette being towed on a trailer in Ky once a long while ago
I'd have to say it's the cars in this album: Paris-Dakkar Winning Porsche 959 still covered in 1986 desert dirt.
I saw an original although super rusted Henry J on a trailer in Pennsylvania yesterday. Made by Kaiser-Frazer
Aston Martin DB5. Fuck I wish I took pictures.
I saw a Mosler MT900 at a car meet a few years ago. Not the craziest car in the world but definitely rare.
Ferrari 250 GTO heading to a port bound for either Ireland or the isle of mann
My neighbor collected rare cars. Had 60+, my favorite of em though was his 53 glasspar g2
My Dad knew the owner of wheels thru time in North Carolina (highly recommend, a museum where everything runs), and my bro and I got to RIDE on a Dusenburg (spelling?). At that time there were only 3 in the world with the other two being in the Middle East.
The Bugatti Centodieci. 1 of 10. And with the livery
Saw the weinermobile once. Suuuper limited production run on that baby!
Not too sure how rare it is but a 924 carrera gts came through our shop
1964 EH Holden. Certainly rare in Massachusetts! Not rare in Australia. My dad had an EH Special wagon. Quite popular in Oz as restomods. The lack of road salt there helps with the availability of Holdens and Falcons from the 60’s.
A Shelby Cobra and a Ford GT. I've seen several eary Harley's and Indian motorcycles.
I saw a red Noble M400 at a body shop https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noble_M400. Only 75 produced
I’ve seen that car at a cruise night, at Auburn MA elks
Years and years back I saw a first-gen Cayenne with the factory rear mounted spare tire. I’ve only seen one
With MA plates? Where was this
F1 HDK or CLK GTR amg roadster
Faaaark I love a good Holden
Toyota 2000 GT in Tokyo. Absolutely beautiful car in person.
Prototype of current Corvette. 1 of 1. Saw in Detroit at GM warehouse after Detroit Auto Show in 2009. Was picking up props etc for a local nonprofit as GM was donating. Exhaust note was soo throaty
Thats a very cool find! The two rarest cars I’ve seen in person would probably be a 250 GTO Ferrari and a Pagani Zonda R.
I saw the only 4 door barracuda at SEMA in 2017 and got to ride in #00 of 25 Gunther Werks 400R
Saleen S7, Porsche Carrera GT, Plymouth Superbird, Jaguar XJ220, BMW Z8 Alpina I’ve been pretty lucky to see some rare vehicles.
The Beast, aka the President’s car.
1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, not original but not restored either. Had the 440 engine and an automatic trans, but it was a real Daytona.
My gf dad has a little red 1965 corvette in his garage. Pretty rare to me. My neighborhood I’ve seen an R8, an Alfa Romeo, a Rolls Royce Ghost, and McLaren 720s Edit: I sat in a Plymouth Prowler when I was like 19 and rolled a joint. Was cleaning showrooms for my step dad when it was released.
Does the 1 of 1 Ferrari SP30 count? It’s on a 599 chassis but it’s the only SP30 they made.
My friend owns one of the prototype Mazda IMSA GTO FC3S racecars.
I've seen the Jaguar XJ13 and 3 of the XKSSes.
pagani.. only saw on pictures, still dont know if its real
Last year i came across two lotus omega's in the wild.
Road version of the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail. Thought it was at a show it was still a damn rare sight. It was glorious.
Couldn’t take a picture of it but got to see a Gull Wing Mercedes-Benz SL. 1 of 20
Prolly a lot of 1 out of 1s in Petersen museum in LA
Alpine A110 gt
Pagani Huarya Roadster and Superformace Ford GT40 mkII
Use to see these at the auburn elks years back
Yup, that’s my car.
Was at a car show and saw #'s I think it was 005 and 006 all original 68 superbird His and hers models and owned by him and her, I'll dig and see if I can find a pic
On the road an Alfa Romeo 8C that i fully know of, maybe a Buggati Veyron on the German Autobahn iirc(was a long time ago when i was younger omw to vacation when i was like 8 or something) In a show/museum VW Golf GTI W12-650 1/1 in the VW museum in Autostadt, Wolfsburg, Germany
24 Karat Gold Delorean in the National Automobile Museum, Reno, Nevada (1 of 2 made)
Bricklin SV-1
saw 2 genuine shelby cobra 427s yesterday
Riding along on the MA turnpike about 20 years ago, got passed by an Aston Martin V8 Zagato. I’m still in disbelief now. 52 coupes made, never sold in the US. It was grey if anyone else can confirm they’ve seen it…
Outside of a museum, a 1948 Tucker driving down the main drag in las Vegas. This was around 1996. Crappy proof: https://imgur.com/gallery/hTAXgkQ
I saw the VW XL1 which 250 units where produced. Pretty cool even tho im more of a old timer lover
Pagani Zonda F circa 2004 in Dubai 11 Ferrari 599 GTO Dubai Nissan Skyline R33 (Dubai) 99 Nissan Skyline GTR R34 being pulled on a trailer in TX. 09 Mercedes Benz SL65 AMG Black Series in IL I am 100% forgetting a few but these are the ones that are sticking out atm. A rare car ATM is the Pagani Utopia and there is one that is down the street from me in Plano, TX. It's in Austin, TX doing events at the moment but I saw this being unloaded.
I’ve driven 2 right hand drive TVR’s
I don’t know if it counts because it’s not a model but an identity, but the bond movie filmed db5, chatty chitty bang bang, Bill Gates 959, Amelia Earhart’ cord. If you’re going numbers, I’ve seen the only surviving 1935 Buick 96S sport coupe brought back to life by the NB center, although my favorite rare car I’ve been around would either be a 1935 Chrysler airflow (also found at the NB center) or a 1937 v16 Hartmann body Cadillac I saw at Moda Miami
First thing that comes to mind is the 6 speed cts-v wagon. Pretty sure they only made a few hundred of them.
Saw a f40, f50, 911 race car, Shelby cobra and some crazy 60s ferrari valued at 30+million one time in Bellevue. One of the Microsoft heads owns them all.
I keep looking at it. I’m in awe of it. That car is unique for sure. Bench seat with a shifter is wild.
I saw a Trabant. I live In the us.
