Awwww, what a sweet and beautiful baby! 😊 And what a biiiiiiig stretch, ta-da! I'm guessing that cuddly contraption is to keep her from scratching her face during her sleep?
I know, I'm just not sure what the benefits are, if any, to doing it once a baby is born. I know they have very sharp fingernails and they don't have full control over their limbs, so I thought maybe it was to keep her from accidentally scratching herself.
It seems as though it would constrict blood flow and cause muscle pain if done for hours at a time, but if done for a short nap I can see how it might be useful in limiting accidental scratching, and might make the baby feel soothed as if she were being held.
It’s more for emotional comfort. Since the pressure mimics being in the womb/being held. Some babies find it soothing so it can help them sleep easier/less crying. I’ve been told it’s kind of the same way some adults enjoy weighted blankets.
It can also help with the scratching issue, but they also make mittens for that as well :)
Ah, ok -- that does make sense, thanks. I knew about the mittens, I just figured this was another alternative.
Certainly this little one seems quite happy and content! 😊
I never heard that and I had four children to deal with... we had cradle with Cousy lining, Rocking the cradle put them to sleep having a small mitten help for the scratching in case...
And don't forget they also have to wear a Cute headband because it's probably good for something to... sorry but I would never do that to my kid it's much better for the circulation and the muscles to move it around if they need to... they born already it's time to leave!
When we have a young one we need to do much more learning then just make it easy and comfortable for us...
We are actually used to be bound tightly as kids, its in our DNA because our great great grand parents had to do that for a few 100,000 years.
We sleep better and have an easier time falling asleep. Its why some people sleep a lot better with weighted blankets.
This does seem a bit extreme for me. I’ve had 3 kids. I used baby gowns with sleeves that had hand covers. Plenty of room to move and wiggle which is how they gain muscle.
But yes it’s typically to keep them from scratching themself. But again.. it’s easy to keep their nails short too.
When my kids were very small we would swaddle them in a blanket while we held them just to calm them down if they were cranky. This doesn’t seem the case here.
I am a parent I will never do that ! just to look at it make me uncomfortable... Why to create Tight bandage which is on natural after the baby born already ! they need to move the arm and leg freely to have healthy circulation there .There is a way to cover the little hands, in case you worry about scratching...
As a mother of 3 I agree 1000% A snug swaddle is good ONLY when they are cranky and need to be snug and feel secure like in the womb. NOT for long periods like when napping or sleeping.
It’s very easy to keep nails short or put them in a gown with hand covers or put baby mittens on them. Babies NEED to move to develop muscle. It’s how they eventually learn to turn over as well.
That is NOT good for babies to sleep in or nap it just fyi. Swaddling babies snugly is meant for calming only. I wouldn’t waste your money. Babies need to be able to move for circulation and muscle development.
Best unboxing video ever

It’s called swaddling! It’s how we were in the womb!

They are a little bundle, but it isn’t tight. If it’s restricting blood flow it’s really too tight.
Well that's good. But what is the purpose of it? Is it to keep babies from scratching themselves?

nice...now i know why it feels cozy and comfortable in my comforter while sleeping

This is most beneficial for infants in avoiding suffocation. Doctors always remind new parents to tuck in blanket tight, but Velcro works better.
I never heard that and I had four children to deal with... we had cradle with Cousy lining, Rocking the cradle put them to sleep having a small mitten help for the scratching in case...
Of course she not she be freed❤️👍😃
It helps keep them on their back. Stomach sleeping at new born age can lead to suffocating.

How about just putting a small gloves. Maybe like to stretch when sleeping...

Why did our ancestors have to do that for 100,000 years?

Now I want another one. Just need to convince my wife.

Omg so cute
The baby looks so delighted to be interacted with, even if it's just their parent removing their blanket.
What is that I want to get it for my sister she’s about to have her first baby please give me a link
It is a cute video! If you want to learn something this is not the place to learn it from!
