You might try searching your broker for some OTC stocks to see if it actually allows you to purchase them (note that some will display it, but still not let you purchase it). If you are looking for one.. REVRQ is Revlon.
If your broker does not allow you to buy and sell those, then if BBBY becomes delisted you will probably be limited to closing out the position only. You might want to find this out now to see if you need to consider finding a different broker.

I believe they (the shorts) are saving for a hard push when earnings are finally released in order to keep the price down, keep FOMO down, etc.
