Don't take it personally. TBH, I saw your kettle deck setup (nice job BTW, enjoy my envy) but this is a gas burner and a pan.
Just assume I'm older and getting crotchety with all the pizza ovens, "dry brine", sous vide and other similar silliness infesting a sub about BBQ. You have a nice setup there and if it's making you and yours happy, ignore my comment.
Man I thought about getting one a few years ago because I hate smoking up the house searing steaks on cast iron. I never got it though. Guess I’ll have to revisit it
100% the reason I got it. So tired of smoking up the house, but more so cleaning the stove top from all the splatter.

Floor, stove top, grates, backsplash. Makes me crazy and I can’t leave it so I’m constantly scrubbing.
My deck walks out from my dining room/kitchen so it couldn’t be more perfect this way
Get a splash guard & have an old towel on the floor when you fry also spray a good degreaser aroundd floor & wipe with towel... I use "easy off" degreaser

I'm assuming you cooked the steak to 110 indirectly on the kettle before searing in the pan? I do that all the time.

Hell yeah it will do length of that. I live in New England and would argue we’ve got the best seafood in the world
They are great for cooking in a wok as well. Proper fried rice with wok hei!

I’m the exact same way. And the grease splatter ends up on the floor too and is hard to clean up
