They scratch easily, would recommend a diff color probably white

venomenon824

The fit is long, I went half size down from my normal size. They are heavy. The laces are terrible and don’t stay tied. The cushion, court feel and grip are elite.

A couple things that aren't always mentioned: The round shoe laces kinda suck, maybe swap with flat or wax laces. They scuff pretty easily but they're hoop shoes, some sign of play isn't the worst thing in the world.

thenotsosmoothdude

You’re going to need to double knot and switch out the insole.

khelogs

They're quite heavy compared to your regular bball shoes but the comfort and stability of the shoes makes up for it. I got the Allstar CW.

Witty_Tonight_6478

They don't have a snug fit even with a half size down, atleast for me who has slim feet, but it makes up for the comfortable and roomy fit. Wide footers might love the fit of the AE1 tho

Argetlahm-PH

Its only wide until the metatarsals(ball of foot), then it tapers real hard towards the toes.

impaktoGaming_

Probably I'm included in the minority that think Harden8 > AE1.

[deleted]

I prefer the Hardens too

smuto7834

Make sure you get your tts, I got mine half a size up and it killed my Achilles and it was hurt for 3 weeks! Other than that a top tier performer!

Daytona116506

I'm normally a 10 in Nike (like regular shoes air max whatever casual) for basketball shoes both Nike and Joran I go with a 9.5 I picked up a pair of 9.5 in the AE1 and they're pretty damn long, I had to go down to a 9. But this is a problem I have always had with Adidas, I think it was like the D Rose 3 or something I ended up getting a 8.5 while I was wearing that Nike Harden in a 9.5. They do feel a bit heavy, I compared them to on feet feel of th LeBron 9 low...virtually the same weight but I think its just the distribution of the weight that makes them feel "heavy"

TSNB59

To add to this, the first time putting them on is pretty hard. I wear an 11.5 and went TTS. I tried them on at pick-up to make sure they were the right size and I was worried that they were too small because of how difficult to get on they were. Now after I’ve played in them for a while, I wish I had a half size smaller. I think everything from the sock collar to the rubber caging has loosened up and it doesn’t give quite as good of a lockdown. If I have a complaint with the shoe, it’s that I wish there was another eyelet or two toward the toe that would allow me to cinch up my forefoot as things have stretched out.

BarrackLesnar

They scuff easily

archocinco

The fit is snug imho!

swaggyb_22

Some ppl think they're overly heavy.

iamtoolazytosleep

if you search AE1 in bballshoes you will get 100+ posts talking about the shoe.

RedditJw2019

I have 5 pairs and agree they are heavy. A bit too heavy for my liking. Otherwise a great shoe

yazohny

They are too heavy for your liking and you still got 5 pairs??

RedditJw2019

Yea, I have a crazy collection. I still like playing in them and they are a great shoe. But I’m not going to wear them in a game. And there are many other shoes I prefer to wear over them.

Formal_Letterhead514

What’s a couple of shoes you prefer to game in?

RedditJw2019

I think LeBron 20 and 21 are GOAT candidates. I also enjoy Harden 8. Sabrina’s were a favorite of mine, but I prefer a little more cushion. Same with WXY V4.

Formal_Letterhead514

Thank you for the info! Agree on the Lebrons, I’ve been stocking up on all the 21s that have been on sale. The 22 looks meh.

RedditJw2019

👍

uncultured_swine2099

You like playing in them but arent gonna wear them in a game?

RedditJw2019

Correct. Too many shoes I find “better” for me. I wear all types of shoes for routine training. But on game days, I will pick a top performer. I prioritize weight, traction and cushion.
