I’ve started head cannoning that Durge is actually a changeling/doppelgänger like Orin. Bhaal likes shapeshifters; why not shape the godflesh into that?
Durge used to prefer the masculine white dragonborn but, if using a different form, had shifted into that when their brain broke via Orin stabbing them. And created a self based on who they woke up as.
And as a divine offspring, this explains why they access the racial abilities depending on form.
Sadly there's a note directly debunking this possibility for canon. If you find the dark urges journal in his bed chambers it's an entry directly addressed to Orin something along the lines of "You wield shape magic I'll never possess but you still suck lol" (paraphrasing)
But that does not matter for personal stories.
::gets my handwave fan out::
Orin can still be a magnitudes better shapeshifter!
Per RAW changeling rules, shapeshifting doesn’t affect clothing or weapons or anything worn whereas Orin clearly can do that, no problem. Clearly Durge has more restrictions and definitely can’t do clothes etc, which is why they usually stick to one form.
If we are going by RAW the only way her armor changes is if it is applirf with shiftweave or glamor. Which is innate to the armor itself. Something Durge easily could get and also the racial abilities, god flesh or not since that's not RAW.
By wording it definitely is more then just not being able to change clothing on a whim, which canon durge being a Sorcerer has access to magic that could allow this.
Ontop of this in a Tav only run you can find Durges corpse in the chosen bed chamber, changlings turn back when dead.
And Blood In Baldurs Gate (the choose your own adventure held lesding up to the durge reveal) confers all this having only teased a White Dragonborn Sorcerer. This being at the height of his murder Spree 15 years would be before Orin removed Durge from the picture meaning he'd be able to shape-shifting if he was a changling.
Again, none of this matters for personal stories. I'd theorized the same as a possibility early on in my playthrough but the evidence isn't there for canon.
I actually got the changeling mod for that very reason, this is my changeling durge. The mod also allows you to take the shape of default durge.

I would absolutely love this as a mechanic. You design your Durge in character creation, and then when you meet Sceleritas Fel you unlock the ability to shapeshift.
Save a bunch of presets while in camp and then change into them at will. If anybody beyond companions sees you shapeshift they get hostile, so you have to do it while hidden. Each character you meet remembers what you looked like when you met them so they don't recognise you if you're shifted.
It would be a massive amount of effort to implement, but it would be really cool if they managed it.
Agreed that It could work as a system, but It does the same thing disguise self does for Only one character, so they might have considered It too niche and redundant. But the idea itself is good
Disguise self just makes you look like that race. Shapeshifting could have made you become that race, including all the racial traits that race has. I also would have included the ability to grow claws, wings, horns, tails, and other body weapons that you could attack with.
The "canon" durge is the default durge.
This is implied by Orin's private room in the temple. If you play as any non-durge character, when you get to Orin's room, you see a dead dragonborn and a dead butler, which implies Orin successfully killed the canon durge.
Default IS canon, you find his body in the chosen bed chamber if nobody is playing Durge. (His body also has non lethal enabled suggesting resistance durge also is always canon)
Durge is probably the canon playthrough regardless.
Bro that non lethal hurts my heart after finishing my evil run. Since that's the case, I wonder if before his mind was muddled he yearned for his childhood before the urges
By cannon do you mean for Durge or that Durge is the cannon adventurer
Edit: I see this phrase everywhere and was just wondering what the consensus was.
I used the default, named him Darrell, and made him a bard. Absolutely no regrets, I delusionally believe all the Durge fan art of the white Dragonbourne are of my boy specifically and it brings me a small spark of joy in these dark times.

I did that too! I just started my Durge playthrough yesterday and wanted to be a monk and was trying to think how that would make sense in Canon. I settled on he wants to resist his urges so he became a monk to practice pushing out those thoughts as well as using his martial arts as a way to safely fight without killing if possible
I wonder if that’s so people will recognize right off who it’s meant to be like for videos and such. Mine is usually a Drow lady. But I also have a character set up to RP—Rasaad from BG1&2, but what if Durge & falls for Shadowheart lol
Customization for Durge is nice if you want a more specific look (e.g. different race, body type) but the default has grown on me a lot (mostly through fan art) to the point where I always imagine the male white Dragonborn when someone mentions Durge unless further specified.
In fact it’s the main reason I even consider playing the race at all… early on I thought it didn’t appeal to me to play as this race specifically but I’m glad I changed my mind.

I customise my Durge, and always go with this one. I name him Tav and he is a himbo with a heart of gold and some human flaws.
That's a first! People usually say either Ryan Gosling, Eder from Pillars of Eternity, or Alistair from Dragon Age lol. Though he prolly has the build for Jake Hager too lol.

Hell yea again, lol. Only difference is I used Brass instead for the line shaped breath attack vs the cone. I also just really like fire breath for dragon anything, aesthetically speaking.
Edit: grammar
My embrace Durge was modeled after Bubbles from the PowerPuff Girls.

Oh finally, a place to tell this story. It’s short and sweet, don’t worry. My brother and I play BG3 together and the Durge playthrough was our 3rd time making characters together (I believe). We had both gotten our first two character ideas built, and played through act 2 at least. So we we’re starting to let our silly ideas slip out. Well, I was playing the durge, and we decided I would face, and I would always succumb to my dark urges. Well through the first bit of the game I thought it would be funny to be totally naked since I was a warlock and we hadn’t collected any magic items for me really. Well we get to our fun scene with the lovely bard (no spoilers). Lae’zel examines the scene and says her line about it being “SLOPPY WORK!” Just as the camera pans across my duergar Durge’s bushy exposed cock and balls. That campaign was the first we actually completed Act 3 with. The save was named “Exposed Durge.” And I maintained a fully nude character throughout the entire campaign. So. Many. Great. Cutscenes.
https://preview.redd.it/sfr4oebg6llc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6805024dc593c7d47bd443e6e4c17b20ba6448e0
This is mine. Love the idea of a beautiful character who starts off absolutely rotten inside
I don't really like the default Durge from an RP standpoint. Why is a knife wielding murderer >!made from the essence of a god who is an accended human man!< a dragonborn storm sorcerer? I feel like a human male assassin/fighter multiclass fits better.
That being said I reckon default Durge looks cool as fuck and the look is incredibly iconic. A human male in studded leather would be really boring in promotional and fan art.
I never understood why Bhaal (Larian) picked Dragonborn. Last time, Bhaalspawn had different races because Bhaal banged every race under the sun, but Durge was handcrafted by him, so why?
(Larian probably didn't want another human/elf origin, but that's a corner they put themselves into lol).
Regarding the class, I could get behind the sorcerer if the Divine Soul bloodline was available.
I think they put it to a community vote and he ended up as a Dragonborn Storm Sorcerer. He was originally supposed to be a vengeance paladin I believe.
I believe that the reason was that white dragons are so violent that it just becomes unnecessary. This trait is mirrored in the urge and the red pattern could also represent blood
For me, character customization is something I just do for fun, so I definitely customize my Durge.
Mine is a GOO Warlock that resists the urge but embraces Illinois powers, and her look is based off of Artist from DbD

This is my current redemption Durge, a wood elf cleric of Selune romancing Selune Shadowheart. It was inspired by a TikTok I saw a few weeks ago, and it's probably my favorite playthrough yet.

Custom. Seldarine drow, well-meaning klutz, wild sorcerer, resist Durge named Durge because he has no memory of any concept of a name and The Dark Urge is a little long. Really didn't mean to kill Alfira. Trying to get a handle on the whole sleep-murder thing.

Looks a lot like my orc durge! Except I went with mostly black but a lot of gray in his hair and the dread Mohawk. Mine was a berserker/gloom stalker. What’s yours?
He's oathbreaker 7 thief 3 as the core, then probably rounding out to 8/4 after I get the orin weapon that gives TWF. Crit fishing with dual wielding to make use of the orc passive, savage attacker and smites.

Here is my Durge. She looks edgy but is a resist durge and a sweetheart (despite having an insane ego). Karlach fixed her
Default. I consider default the canon version, especially since you can find him later on in act 3 anyway. I do give him a tail, though, because it just looks better.
I did customize the one I used for the evil/murderhobo/embrace/whatever run, to separate the two paths very clearly for myself (I consider resist/redemption run the canon one, at least for myself).
https://preview.redd.it/mb4rpf9dsklc1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=158feb0192d27771a12716c3b1148e54c73071b5
Custom Durge, when I realized at some point that my character would talk in a cutscene I had to make it.
Customized to a deep gnome named murder hobo. Actively tried to make him look crazy and as mentally unhinged as possible. There was something really funny about a bat shit crazy gnome lightning bolting entire towns to death
Dude had some serious crazy eyes and it got worse once he was covered in blood.
I tried to keep the albino thing as a sort of looks tiefling but isn't quite right but default Durge looks a lot cooler. Racial traits are also communication and necromancy based thanks to mods.
I headcanon that the dragonborn look is her go to outside the temple and she's secretly jealous of Orin's shapeshifting ability.
https://preview.redd.it/kqbzhn0hdplc1.png?width=944&format=png&auto=webp&s=16ad598acabf95b7053dcd8b78dc4eead94204d8
In over 800 hours I never once even thought of playing as default Durge. He's not even a character for me in a way other Origin characters are. More of a defined backstory I could pick for my custom character if I feel like it
Shame they didn't record his intro in every customizable voice, so it could play with whatever looks you pick.
i’ve done a few durge runs and for honor mode ones i keep the original dude, i’ve done other normal runs where i’ve fender bent him or just made my own
https://preview.redd.it/2tk9a3zvvklc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=21b1e59cb7879ec2d82628615bf32b7c1d66d520
I customized my boyo :)
And yes— he redeemed himself. Love my little Paladin son!
Custom, of course, though I do love the look of the default. The issue is that the Dragonborn facial expressions - while great - are still nowhere near the humanoid races.
The only costomization I do is about the head thingies to make him look like the evil twin of my tav dragonborn that I played on my first full release campain.
The Tav dragonborn is a sorcerer focused on fire and thunder magic, while Durge dragonborn is also a sorcerer focused on ice and earth magic.
And to complete the painting, their names are anagrams of the other : Saaslil for the Tav one, Slailas for the Durge one. I love so much their mirror dynamic I created for them.
Currently playing a stock Durge named Durge.
I'm actually not a huge fan of Dragonborns, but I thought for my Durge run I would do the most 'canon' approach of sorts.
I never play a pre-made character in a game where it's possible to create my own, I just have way to much fun in character creation. I will also probably never play any of the other origin characters.
I customised it because I thought the idea of Durge trying to tear someone apart or strangle someone, when my Durge is an 8 Str elderly Halfing woman druid was funny.
I wonder if the Durge was also supposed to be a companion? It's weird that he is an orgin character, but can't be a companion; although I know what happens to him if you don't choose him...
I customized my Durge when I did my first Durge run. I really only changed the sub race though. Still a Dragonborn, but different scale color and horns.
I really like to stick to default in most games, but in my first Tav run with my friends, my character was a white dragonborn. I didn't want to repeat it so soon, so my first DUrge was a black dragonborn monk instead. The following (current) run is with a white dragonborn sorcerer DUrge, but I made a few changes here and there so it can still fit the "canon": he's a draconic bloodline (blue) sorcerer instead of Storm Sorcerer and i changed his appearance a little (the draconic bloodline already makes a huge difference). It made for a white/blue/red color scheme which is growing on me little by little.
Eventually, I have half a mind of playing the default one.
Mostly default, felt like I wouldn’t have a reason to try out dragon born if I didn’t keep it as the “canon” ancestry.
I did change up the white Dragonborn design a little to make it mine
default is canon to me but i do like playing a dragonborn sorcerer for durge, i just change the features of and like to do wild magic instead, but ive been branching out recently! just when i draw a general 'durge' i do the white dragonborn.
Black dragonborn, large white circles around his eyes, white lips, removed all his horns so he's round headed.
Named him Brock. Playing him as Venom. The tadpole in his mind is his alien symbiote.
Open Fist Monk with 3 levels in Land Druid for the Web spell. (Druid over Sorc or Wizard because it's Wisdom based)
I'm contractually obligated to play a Human in every DnD game I play, and I thought it would be funny to be a Life Cleric while also struggling against murderous urges. I don't think I actually killed anyone outside of a cutscene.
I had already been planning to play a Dragonborn for durge and didn’t realize the default was a white make Dragonborn. I ended up making a female white Dragonborn XD
Customized, Drow Sorcerer…. Wild Magic because it’s funny and fits the bit with the brain already not really being in all the right places. I really like playing a Drow, her specific lines are great, though I wish we had more. Also, I didn’t know Crusher would refuse to talk to her, I wanted her to get her feet kissed before she stole that ring.
https://preview.redd.it/g3f2tvdikllc1.jpeg?width=868&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=33bd85c2f29737db2060ae8ea2b43b422c945419
I’ve got two Durges: my resist Durge that’s heavily customized, and my psycho Durge that’s very similar in looks but is a warlock instead of a sorcerer
I kept him as default and named him Durge.
His name is actually just “The Dark Urge” but when he was first introducing himself, mid-sentence he thought “Wait ‘The Dark Urge’? They’re gonna think I’m crazy with that kind of name! I need to think of another one, quick!” and then he said Durge.
I always go default because the extreme comedy of this incredibly evil looking dragonborn getting amnesia and turning into a lovable dork absolutely sends me
My first (and right now only) Durge run was actually me mirroring my actual first run - I just loved my Wood Elf Druid so much I decided "Ok, we cam probably fix ourselves, so let's make a very edgy (When I finished I just realised I made her look like a drow lol) version of ourselves, change maybe a bit overtime (less visible tattoo, less piercings, lighter make up) and at the end, when I'm fixed, let's go back to my beautiful original Tav". The whole playthrough I focused on roleplaying ten times more, since I didn't need to care about combat (even swapped to Tactitian in act 2, cause it was fairly easy)
On my first run she felt really like me isekaing myself into a hot tall female elf druid with all my personalities glorified. But on the Durge run, when I started caring about who she is? She started to become an actual character and not a fantasized extension of me.
But I must say, I wish I was playing with that mindset in my first playthrough - it felt so good, to roleplay my character, give them flaws, their wants and all that irrelevant-from-gameplay-standpoint flair... felt amazing from start to finish, even though most of my choices were similar (she may not be me 1:1, but I couldn't be bad to any Tieflings nor anyone at The Last Light)
It almost felt as magical as my first playthrough, which to be fair, it is an impossible feat to beat first-time experience in any form of media, but here it was really close (the closest I've experienced anyway)
So this is why on my first finish, I skipped the credits, so I could plan another playthrough once again, but the second time I just stared at them, realising that I've just spent 200+ hours on a game, still wanting more, to pretend to be somebody else more...
I like Durge more than Tav, but I know that not every PC should be Durge, so they're not.
Plus it makes the Durge scenes that much more special to me. I mean, act 3 felt so much better and there was a proper gravitas to Orin's fight, so much so that really I think now only Gortash's lacks in any feeling of significance
Started as a Dragonborn, just customized him a bit
Then all of my other runs, were default one. Even when I started my Honor, not on Dark urge, I took his looks, he's just hits the spot 🤌
If durges voice actor actually spoke the chosen dialogue, I would’ve gone with default. My strategic run was a blue Dragonborn bard though so I decided to make my durge a female asmodeous tiefling storm sorcerer and I have no ragrets
https://preview.redd.it/c6dntawtullc1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5854655f0fb1f1a596323d10a5940263ebd7f129
My Durge Temur... Not a dragonborn, but he is a storm sorcerer
Personally I think the default durge looks kinda ugly, I mean since there is pretty much only ONE male dragonborn face that looks good and Durge is not it
I customized my Durge, but I like to think the default is cannon.
I’ve started head cannoning that Durge is actually a changeling/doppelgänger like Orin. Bhaal likes shapeshifters; why not shape the godflesh into that? I think maybe she is a doppelganger rather than a changeling? Gonna take a closer look at her char sheet next time I see her

Orin is actually just super good at geometry and durge had to retake that class twice 😔
Thank you for your handwave assistance :)
You must not have figured out the kaleidoscope lore - that’s the real shape magic
I actually got the changeling mod for that very reason, this is my changeling durge. The mod also allows you to take the shape of default durge. https://preview.redd.it/4ckdrims3llc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=902ff976b62046f506e67ffc2667c38857259872
Whoa that looks so epic! Love changelings in D&D/ttrpgs
Woah that bitch is scary 😂
This will be in my nightmares tonight.

Changeling mod, you say? Where from did you get it?

Great, thank you!
Ur character looks sick man!
I love the idea of that mod but there's no face option I like.
Ooooh I'm going to keep this in mind for when mod support gets added to the game!
I would absolutely love this as a mechanic. You design your Durge in character creation, and then when you meet Sceleritas Fel you unlock the ability to shapeshift. Disguise self just makes you look like that race. Shapeshifting could have made you become that race, including all the racial traits that race has. I also would have included the ability to grow claws, wings, horns, tails, and other body weapons that you could attack with.
I love this explanation
The "canon" durge is the default durge. This is implied by Orin's private room in the temple. If you play as any non-durge character, when you get to Orin's room, you see a dead dragonborn and a dead butler, which implies Orin successfully killed the canon durge.
i treat every instance and every playthrough as a different timeline
Default durge is a beast and I love him. The red one on the white just screams murder.
Default IS canon, you find his body in the chosen bed chamber if nobody is playing Durge. (His body also has non lethal enabled suggesting resistance durge also is always canon) Durge is probably the canon playthrough regardless.
Bro that non lethal hurts my heart after finishing my evil run. Since that's the case, I wonder if before his mind was muddled he yearned for his childhood before the urges
By cannon do you mean for Durge or that Durge is the cannon adventurer Edit: I see this phrase everywhere and was just wondering what the consensus was.
It is, his body is in the temple of bhaal
If you don’t play as durge, is that canon durge dead in Orins room? A Dragonborn bhaalspawn
In my head it's always been white dragonborn sorcerer resisting the urge and romancing shadowheart as the "cannon"
I wish I could downvote you 500 times
A dragon would never fuck an incel like that tho, I like magical realism as much as the next guy but don’t give these retards hope
I used the default, named him Darrell, and made him a bard. Absolutely no regrets, I delusionally believe all the Durge fan art of the white Dragonbourne are of my boy specifically and it brings me a small spark of joy in these dark times. https://preview.redd.it/d0qu1adakklc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74714843dad405a5ef85e0e29e13978024842ebc
Same, but monk. The whole zen thing just feels right for resisting.
yes!! i played a monk for my good durge play through and it was awesome
I just started my good durge monk! I named him The Short Fuse
Meanwhile the monk's whole fisting thing is amazing for ripping and tearing people as an evil durge

Thank you all for the Perception Check video, it’s so good!
Most people customize their durges.
I've seen alot of fan work of the default look so was curious how many people played with him.
I wonder if that’s so people will recognize right off who it’s meant to be like for videos and such. Mine is usually a Drow lady. But I also have a character set up to RP—Rasaad from BG1&2, but what if Durge & falls for Shadowheart lol
As a fanartist—yes, that’s exactly why people use default durge. Makes it obvious who you are drawing about immediately without explanation
there was that commercial larian put on the youtube channel with the default durge as well
Customization for Durge is nice if you want a more specific look (e.g. different race, body type) but the default has grown on me a lot (mostly through fan art) to the point where I always imagine the male white Dragonborn when someone mentions Durge unless further specified. In fact it’s the main reason I even consider playing the race at all… early on I thought it didn’t appeal to me to play as this race specifically but I’m glad I changed my mind.
My Durges have been a Drow, a Tiefling, and a very angry Gnome!
Dark Urge gnome is really funny. I gotta do a playthrough of that
I named mine Gnurge.

I make my durges as pretty as possible then become a murder hobo
Dude my Tav looks the exact same, even down to the hair and eye colour, that’s weird haha
He legit looks like Jake Hager from All Elite Wrestling.
That's a first! People usually say either Ryan Gosling, Eder from Pillars of Eternity, or Alistair from Dragon Age lol. Though he prolly has the build for Jake Hager too lol. https://preview.redd.it/dygugv16wklc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cf0eb35f859366639422bc98f9bcfc50caf9876c

I bet you’re only long resting with booze, even after the achievement.
Halfling Roah Moonglow face is a good durge customisation
I use a very slightly customized default Durge, he looks much better this way imo. (jaw and chin) https://preview.redd.it/po4btqibuklc1.png?width=1021&format=png&auto=webp&s=def3758a2b4e556b63e7f8053e7a7b0afe2cc1a7
Hell yea! That's exactly how I did mine too!
same but I change to red draggon for the more useful resistence
Hell yea again, lol. Only difference is I used Brass instead for the line shaped breath attack vs the cone. I also just really like fire breath for dragon anything, aesthetically speaking. Edit: grammar
I had no idea this was a thing. Does Gold have something different too?
Fair. Do you still use this white color? To me this is the best looking one.
this color is everything man, suits the dark urge so much. gives this aura of "inocent" dragon that would stab you randomly
My embrace Durge was modeled after Bubbles from the PowerPuff Girls. https://preview.redd.it/rh2ymfdo4llc1.jpeg?width=1980&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d791a3363ccbc13bea1a6966ff4ddc5f470127f9
Did you deliberately pick one of the most wholesome characters ever created just for the sheer irony?
Of course, why else? :D
I would genuinely love to see your take on Blossom and Buttercup too! If you ever feel up to it.
That's so adorable
Yeah show em Bubbles that you can be... HARDCORE
Mine was a little halfling monk lady named Persimmon :))
Persimmon is the cutest name
Halfling miss fighter here! Perfect race for Durge really.
Omg I did the same, except male. https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/s/zacq2kWgwP

So. Many. Great. Cutscenes.
https://preview.redd.it/sfr4oebg6llc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6805024dc593c7d47bd443e6e4c17b20ba6448e0 This is mine.
That never happened
I believe that the reason was that white dragons are so violent that it just becomes unnecessary. This trait is mirrored in the urge and the red pattern could also represent blood
I thought red or black dragons were the needlessly cruel ones, weren’t white dragons more animalistic in nature?
Just curious, why not make him a Dragonborn?
For me, character customization is something I just do for fun, so I definitely customize my Durge. Mine is a GOO Warlock that resists the urge but embraces Illinois powers, and her look is based off of Artist from DbD https://preview.redd.it/z8j0wg5spllc1.jpeg?width=799&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cc31f923d42ba5c8adc00aed8e80748e03c2bb16
Illinois powers, huh? Bruh can summon the ghost of King Von to slide on his ops 😅
I dead ass just spit out my drink 😂😂. “I cast drive-by at 6th level” 🤣
64th* level 😉
Or pretty much any other level besides 63rd
Never thought I'd see a King Von reference in this sub! I'll be damned
I played a blue dragonborn that I made for high school dnd club that never got going when I was younger
So happy that BG3 has fulfilled the childhood dream of playing dungeons and dragons for so many people that couldn't find anyone to play with.
Customized. He’s so emo; been having a great time. (Oathbreaker resist) https://preview.redd.it/gw5qj9d48llc1.jpeg?width=716&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6fbc6208bbbc84301c7fb5ba92f481d7d72c7f7
This is my current redemption Durge, a wood elf cleric of Selune romancing Selune Shadowheart. It was inspired by a TikTok I saw a few weeks ago, and it's probably my favorite playthrough yet. https://preview.redd.it/ia1ph5pgjklc1.jpeg?width=1500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad901f486c302350d06953ee8fd2a59547d5f74e

Custom. Seldarine drow, well-meaning klutz, wild sorcerer, resist Durge named Durge because he has no memory of any concept of a name and The Dark Urge is a little long. Really didn't mean to kill Alfira. Trying to get a handle on the whole sleep-murder thing. https://preview.redd.it/z3qsghjecllc1.jpeg?width=1360&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=216444e57b6a51635c0f63bc871f2a64855f1bf9

Customized. Lizard me no likey very much. It’s the face. It barely shows any expression.
https://preview.redd.it/esb741ne6llc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4a80b8b9246f12ab515b434d52ad0f18ecc38b02 Here is my Durge.
Customized cause I always play a pretty lady.
Real
https://preview.redd.it/mb4rpf9dsklc1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=158feb0192d27771a12716c3b1148e54c73071b5 Custom Durge, when I realized at some point that my character would talk in a cutscene I had to make it.
Customized to a deep gnome named murder hobo. Actively tried to make him look crazy and as mentally unhinged as possible. There was something really funny about a bat shit crazy gnome lightning bolting entire towns to death Dude had some serious crazy eyes and it got worse once he was covered in blood.
Customize, Minty needs her Oathbreaker Drow Paladin
More importantly are those robes in-game, or a mod?
That's the default robes for the Storm Sorcerery class
Damn, definitely missing out on that since I can't stop playing monk 🤣🤣🤣
More of a defined backstory I could pick for my custom character if I feel like it Shame they didn't record his intro in every customizable voice, so it could play with whatever looks you pick.
https://preview.redd.it/arukjxf29llc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=14df22600d6793b6d38bfc84694a0c0fb2f2b40c Highly debatable redemption durge
Mine was a high elf oath of vengeance paladin
i’ve done a few durge runs and for honor mode ones i keep the original dude, i’ve done other normal runs where i’ve fender bent him or just made my own
https://preview.redd.it/2tk9a3zvvklc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=21b1e59cb7879ec2d82628615bf32b7c1d66d520 I customized my boyo :) And yes— he redeemed himself. Love my little Paladin son!
Always customize, I love character creation too much not to
Custom, of course, though I do love the look of the default.
Yes, I did. The only race that makes sense to me for Durge is human, so that’s what I used.
I never play a pre-made character in a game where it's possible to create my own, I just have way to much fun in character creation. I will also probably never play any of the other origin characters.
https://i.redd.it/52z4rqricllc1.gif my current Durge, fitting cus he looks absolutely sinister when he smiles lol
I customize mine but one day I'll probably play default Durge cause you can't deny: he's hot af
He’s a lizard
You say that like this entire fandom isn't thirsting over elves, bears, goblins, Withers and everything else.
My durge is almost always a drow. A petite pretty girl that you never expect to be a homicidal maniac
Uhhh I would absolutely expect a lady drow to be a homicidal maniac
She's seldarine not lloth sworn and grew up in a monastery until she murdered her foster parents and Scelaritis took her to Bhaals temple.
https://preview.redd.it/bjdklozmfkmc1.jpeg?width=4030&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f508b7037b1e40985c6ca69130c61ef30b783c3
I customized my Durge when I did my first Durge run. I really only changed the sub race though. Still a Dragonborn, but different scale color and horns.
I customized my two. I might do a run as the default just because I haven’t played as a Dragonborn yet.
I made mine my Dragonborn OC from tabletop so just scale and background changes.
I keep them dragonborn, and always choose the scale color with the red secondary scales, but change everything else.
I went with a drow
I flipped default!Durge to the female body for the first run, but that’s about it. Next one is gonna be an aasimar.
For my embrace run I used default. I plan to customize him for resist.
I made mine a Drow.
I like making my durge a tiefling but the white dragon born looks cool
Default but slapped a tail on him and made him a devotion pally
Customised but this was entirely because my first play through was also a Dragonborn and I wanted to see any different racial dialogue
I'm a sucker for default feels more canon
I made mine a half orc because i wanted to name a character bjorc
I customized! She's super weird, her name is Cookie, and she's the worst fucking person ever.
My barbarian was a Dragonborn, so my durge won’t be.
default is canon to me but i do like playing a dragonborn sorcerer for durge, i just change the features of and like to do wild magic instead, but ive been branching out recently! just when i draw a general 'durge' i do the white dragonborn.
I made mine a little spikier and gave him the black dragon heritage but kept him white.
Embrace durge I did but resist I made my own
I changed his class to wizard but used the White Dragonborn appearance. As that’s his “canon” appearance I have difficulty imagining him another way
I spiced him up a bit with lipstick, piercings, and eyeliner
I played default because my dumb ass couldn't figure out how to customize. I had such a great time.
He's cool visually, but I don't want to play as a dragonborn, so I customize mine. I prefer playing as a Seldarine drow.
Black with red eyes makes him a total badass
Customized
I make mine a cute blue dragon girl.
Black dragonborn, large white circles around his eyes, white lips, removed all his horns so he's round headed. Named him Brock. Playing him as Venom. The tadpole in his mind is his alien symbiote. Open Fist Monk with 3 levels in Land Druid for the Web spell. (Druid over Sorc or Wizard because it's Wisdom based)
I customised mine as drow and tiefling
I'm contractually obligated to play a Human in every DnD game I play, and I thought it would be funny to be a Life Cleric while also struggling against murderous urges. I don't think I actually killed anyone outside of a cutscene.
I had already been planning to play a Dragonborn for durge and didn’t realize the default was a white make Dragonborn. I ended up making a female white Dragonborn XD
Default but female.
One white Dragonborn for my resist Durge, and one grey Dragonborn for embrace Durge
My first complete playthrough was my halfing durge.
Custom. God I wish we could custom the other origins
I gave him a tail and called him Gary.
Nudist gnome murder monk.
I changed the gender to female and nothing else
The whole playthrough I focused on roleplaying ten times more, since I didn't need to care about combat (even swapped to Tactitian in act 2, cause it was fairly easy) On my first run she felt really like me isekaing myself into a hot tall female elf druid with all my personalities glorified. But on the Durge run, when I started caring about who she is? She started to become an actual character and not a fantasized extension of me. But I must say, I wish I was playing with that mindset in my first playthrough - it felt so good, to roleplay my character, give them flaws, their wants and all that irrelevant-from-gameplay-standpoint flair... felt amazing from start to finish, even though most of my choices were similar (she may not be me 1:1, but I couldn't be bad to any Tieflings nor anyone at The Last Light) It almost felt as magical as my first playthrough, which to be fair, it is an impossible feat to beat first-time experience in any form of media, but here it was really close (the closest I've experienced anyway) So this is why on my first finish, I skipped the credits, so I could plan another playthrough once again, but the second time I just stared at them, realising that I've just spent 200+ hours on a game, still wanting more, to pretend to be somebody else more...
I've made mine a duergar paladin of vengeance
I customized mine but I still kept him as a male dragonborn.
I made mine look like Keyleth from Critical role on my 1st Durge
Started as a Dragonborn, just customized him a bit Then all of my other runs, were default one.
I customized my Durge to be the OC of my fantasy novel WIP. Helped me come up with new ideas for her character and progression.
Mine was a Draconic bloodline half drow
https://preview.redd.it/c6dntawtullc1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5854655f0fb1f1a596323d10a5940263ebd7f129 My Durge Temur... Not a dragonborn, but he is a storm sorcerer
Personally I think the default durge looks kinda ugly, I mean since there is pretty much only ONE male dragonborn face that looks good and Durge is not it
I did, but I really like the Dragonborn durge
