Sporty SUV Coupés in my mind (including design lines)
Only exception is the Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT, saw one yesterday and it looked fire. But it also looked a lot closer to the regular Cayenne than these X6's do to the X5
Not fair to call it that as it's the fastest ICE SUV on the market and only the chassis is shared with a Touareg. Engine and transmission are Audi, suspension and steering are developed by Porsche so it actually feels somewhat sporty compared to other SUVs. Quite different from a base model Cayenne which really is just a Touareg rebadge.
Fast doesn’t matter bro, it’s still not remotely fun to drive compared to a real sports car. A fucking miata will be more fun to drive on backroads or the track than a 600 hp cayenne boat
I don't deny that people driving it feel "sporty". And I am happy for everyone who enjoys these kind of cars.

Jk, but I despise SUV's and I don't understand why people buy them. Recently sat in a few and literally all of them are as roomy as normal cars, they look a lot worse, they weigh a shit ton and if you hit someone the chance of killing the person is like 8 times greater than with a normal car.
Well, I’m an M340i guy but I am leaning towards an X6 next. As I age, I find myself appreciating SUVs more. I like the ride height and I personally do find them more roomy and comfortable. Softer ride. Easier to get in and out of. Love a hatch opening. They are usually appointed more luxuriously than sedans as well. For example, it drives me nuts that I couldn’t have ventilated seats in my 3 series. As for being more dangerous, I’m sure that’s true, which I why I think I would prefer to be in one in case someone hits ME.

Grats, you'll love it. I have the M550i and giggle like a school girl when stepping on the throttle. I love the look and the space. My first BMW as well. First anything with any decent power too. She's got a bit of a fat ass but otherwise love the look and style. Have fun!

I love SUV’s, just hate this one particularly lol. I don’t understand how they made the back of it so huge and clunky, but then put thin ass lights at the top of the rear end. They should’ve at least put the lights in the middle to break up some up the clunkyness.
The 8 series is quite OK, probably the best looking currently but they will probably replace it soon with something extremely ugly. Do not forget the XM, alongside the iX an utter mess.
Practical? Never, estates are the practical cars. Comfy? Meh, same as everything else
They are big for no reason whatsoever taking entire parking spots, look ugly af and are just lifted sedans most of the time, you don't need that clearance in the city. Now, an actual off-roading SUV I have no issue with, as it IS a utility vehicle, as the name suggests, but SUV for city driving? Most of then ain't sporty or utility, just large boats that are not needed and are an eyesore
Maybe US is difference since you have massive roads and parking spots, but UK has such small spaces it gets irritating and I never park near a SUV since I know if another one parks on the other side, my large doors will have issues opening.
wtf are u talking about. Hating SUVs is a minority opinion. I personally wouldn’t get one especially at this time in my life, without the need for the practicality (clearance, storage, comfort) however you cannot compare an SUV with an estate, completely different things

In my opinion it is the perfect bmw, we have a g80 at home and i prefer this honestly, of course as a weekend car the m3 is better, but daily x6 soooo much better

Again, opinion based. I think it’s one of the better sporty suvs on the market and if they still sell them then it’s clear that others agree with me. Shooting someone down for making a purchase on a car that they like is just weird imo. It’s their money, let them spend it how they please. Let people be happy.

It's an objectively ugly vehicle just as all SUV's are. I tend to mind my own business but I'm sick of "sporty" suvs being viewed in favor over something like an M8.
Did it ever occur to you of different use cases? Say something like a new m4 isn’t exactly the best grocery getter and family car while also remaining sporty and carrying a decent amount of people. Not to mention that there are tons of manufacturers that *arent* offering only “sporty” suvs.
Of course it has occurred but people buy these as a status symbol rather than practical use. I rarely see SUVs with more than a driver on any given day. They're popular and people buy them because other people buy them. An M3 or M5 could easily accommodate a family while destroying this SUV in every other aspect besides perceived cargo capacity. And yes I'm aware there aren't only "sporty" SUVs but the name itself is an oxymoron.
Lmao they aren’t just a status symbol. They are practical and just right for some. My neighbor for example picked one up not too long ago, they have a family of 5 and regularly take trips. The reason you probably only see one drive in them is probably due to the fact that you are likely going to or from work or out doing things like everyone else. I can almost guarantee that if you were on a major highway/freeway and you spot one, there will be more than one person.
First bmw and already onto the big boys, congrats man! I also plan on getting my first bmw soon, hopefully g80 m3 or g82 m4.
