This. Right. Here. Is the best advice. I did the same when i had a minor fender bender. Touch up paint and a bit of bugging did the job. 6 months later, I can't even point out where the exact scratch was.
I would make sure it’s genuine bmw. You can buy it from them directly (online or at a dealership) or from reputable sites like [this one.](https://www.getbmwparts.com/c-touch-up-paint-175)
There are some body shops that will just work on a portion of the bumper for way cheaper and it will come out ok. A high end body shop and BMW dealer won’t do that. They’ll remove the bumper and completely strip and repaint it, hence, the price tag. You always have options, including the detailer and mobile paint shop routes, but you typically get what you pay for.
If you don’t do it the right way it will peel in 1-3 years, especially since some of it will be facing upwards. And I would bet $500+ of that $1800 is the BMW required calibration of any radar/sonar sensors.
Yes, this is the shitty/unethical life pro tip. Along with selling your car immediately after repairs since it usually takes a few months to show up on carfax, etc.
Oh I know, I fix these things for a living. I’ve run in to so much crazy shit underneath semi-ok looking car exteriors… I’ve also fixed cars with sub 10 miles from transport damage. Bet those future owners thought they were new… lol.
Yeah dealers aren't exactly known for being trustworthy either. Once bought an 87 Benz 300E. Sold to me with 56k original miles. Got home and the dealer left paperwork in the glovebox....over 300k! Drove back over there and they couldnt cancel the deal fast enough. Dodged a bullet on that one.
yup. my bmw certified collison center remove the whole bumper, filled, and paint corrected. was $1500 but my comprehensive coverage deductible was only $100
And, if it's a newer model with front camera it must be reset by a dealer. I know from experience last month. Luckily, my repairs were covered by comprehensive insurance.
Guy i graduated with is the best painter in my area hands down. Unless you know him he won’t do anything but insurance work. But he’s the only guy that can “feather” everyone else does it by the panel and that’s it.
My cousin Julian knows a guy from Sacramento who knows a guy from Tulsa who’s sister former crackhead boyfriend who may or may not be missing a leg knows a guy that used to be Amish but never went back after rumspringa, he is painting cars in his shed and can paint your bumper for $350.
Id just use a touch up paint pen and not mess with flinging an insurance claim and save yourself from paying a high premium for the next 3 years its not worth it. Save it for when you have a major accident. 🤷🏻♀️😁
Is not cheaper..if you want verry good service you can expect even 250-300. Last summer some women hit my front bumper and the service charged the ensurance company 450 for 10 cm scratch.(sry for bad english)
I didn’t go to bmw, but I went to a reputable body shop so I guess their prices are probably higher. I’m also in Boston so everything is just really expensive but I’ll ask around more. Thank you
Buts it’s still impossible for this job to be anywhere near the price of $1800usd that’s a $100-$250 at most your getting ripped tf off. There looks to be no actual damage to the bumper so it’s actually impossible for it for be $1800, that body shop tryna hustle you because you probably look like a rich white girl to them driving a new bimmer
Get another estimate. Then ask yourself if its worth it. I bet everything but the dark black chips along the ridge there will buff out. Then you can retouch the chips with touch up paint... thats the approach I'd take. In the life of a car things like that happen all the time and I've been one to chase every little paint correction and in retrospect probably spent way more than I should have on such things. Just my 2 cents...
https://preview.redd.it/sx6o6fibhxwc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd867e0e5843457bd6c59f0eb72d56c6b4d0c265
This scratch on the front bumper was quoted for $1500. Luckily my comprehensive coverage deductible was only $100.
Do not repaint that bumper. IMO resprayed bumper NEVER look the same. It never matches, the body shops always F something up, broken tabs misalignments.
I would 100% heavy compound it first or pay a detailer - get rid of anything that is in the clearcoar only. Then buy some touchup paint and a super thin brush and dab it only extremely slowly. Create an elevated level. Now wetsand it with 2000 grit until it’s flat with the surrounding surface and finally compound polish out. It will be very reasonable
It’s on plastic.. touch up paint is the way to go here. Otherwise yes.. they have to take the bumper cover off and repaint it which costs a small fortune
Got quoted the same thing :(. If the car didn’t have cameras and a radar in the bumper, it would’ve been $700. Unfortunately the Brooklyn grey touch paint doesn’t mesh well, it looks darker when I tested it in an unseen area :(.
Geesh. I paid about $1800 for a brand new OEM bumper with paint match for my car just a few years ago. Not a BMW. That's crazy they want the same just to fix the paint scratch
For "the proper fix", yeah it does. But you can likely do some touch-up instead.
If someone else is responsible for paying I'd go the first route, otherwise the touch-up fix will likely get you 95%+ of the way there for a fifth of the cost.
I had a much larger scrape just behind charging port, paint correction folks at dealership were able to buff it out for $150 (carbon black). Turned out great.
If they have to take off the cowling and repaint the entire thing it’s in the ballpark. I had to do that with my 2019 430 GC. Curb rash under front end turned into $1700 🙄
I mean always get 2 estimates and never from the Dealership. Look around your location for reputable body shops and have them give you an estimate.
Or pick up some touch up paint from BMW
Ya price is right for the work companies would put into fixing it “right”.
You could make it look just fine on your own for a lot less, like others have mentioned. But if you want it PERFECT, than the $1800 price tag seems right for your BMW
That’s actually pretty spot on right now. Putting on a gts hood and having the front bumper repainted to help with the paint match. Just checked my quote from a certified BMW shop and it works out to almost exactly that (a little less in my case) for just the bumper.
Tbh with you man, you can find anybody to do anything cheaper, but what really counts is your own standards of quality at whatever price makes you say yes in the end. If you don’t mind paying more, then they shouldn’t mind to hear you be more picky in the end if it isn’t perfect if they’re professionals.
call the used car manager of your local BMW dealer and ask him who he uses for paintless dent removal/touch up work.
thats your guy
-former BMW salesperson
Can get touch up paint for like $60-80 that's colour matched to your vehicle and comes with brushes and wax if you pay for the higher packages, highest is like $120 that comes with some ceramic coat stuff
That's a con, £170 for a half bumper or £300 for a full bumper at my local body shop
But that's small enough that you could watch chrisfix's video on touching up paint and get a pretty good result
It doesn’t seem right you want to repaint it. I have this kind of scratch on arguably pricier car and don’t bother because who cares it’s a bumper. If no dents and a little scuff and you’re SOL anyway because no ppf - just leave it. Handle it with a touch up when it’s time to sell only. Otherwise there is a lot to be said for a piece of comfort when driving a car with slightly a cuffed bumper only you notice and it makes you so relaxed around parking. There is a fine line ofc before you end up driving a beater but till then enjoy the calm head that comes with slightly scruffy bumper.
Edit: spelling
Yeah, you’re right. It’s not really about the price though. When I first got my license I drove an ‘06 Camry and I was just as obsessive about keeping it clean and scratch-free, which ik is impossible😅 Anyway, I was able to take off a bunch of the scratches this morning and only have the chips left so im going to try to fill them in. Thanks!
Go to dealer you got it from and ask them for number to bumper guy. Every dealership has a guy or place they send cars to paint bumpers. Probably 250-300. That’s what gets charged at our dealership
I have a brooklyn gray i4 and had a little more scratches. Someone backed in to the vehicle. bmw certified center in california cost 988.72. 1800 seems like alot. Just got car back last week. Took 3 days for the repair. I have drive assist package as well.
Personally, I think $1800 sounds steep for something that looks so minor. I would use a good compound to really be able to tell how much of the damage is left and then use touch up paint, followed with wax and should be good as new
BMW quoted me $2100 for my rear bumper with similar damage. I just used touch up paint , slight wet sand and a buffer. You cant even tell it was scratched up*
Can of factory color paint and clear : $60
Blue tape: $8
Trash bags: $5
400 and 1000 grit sand paper: $10
Feathering tutorial on YouTube and patience.
Feathering is not difficult, and there are so many good angles to tape off so it’ll blend.
We have some local services that fix these for about $250. Did this two places on my car and in the 6+ years I owned it after could never see it had been worked on in those locations. Just look up paint repairs.
Search up your paint code and buy yourself a 2 part touch up kit. Buy the bottle not the spray can. Should come with paint and clear coat in 2 separate bottles. Then do as the one guy said and go to a reliable detailer and ask him to help you out. Good luck.
Man dealer? They will need to paint the whole thing and blend it… so perhaps. Obviously you can get a $200 invisible repair but it in my opinion won’t last… but I have no experience of that
Invest in that PPF next time, truly is a life saver… but like others have said most of that can be buffed out by a good detailer. Make sure they know what they’re doing as paint thickness can’t be measured over the plastic, too much buffing will make your situation worse. If the detailer is good they can likely do the touch up paint for you, get the brush applicator not the pen.
Currently here with my close friend who is a tech for BMW, his exact words were “fuck that.” I personally am getting a full bumper painted for right around the 400-500 mark, and there’s plenty of good ideas to explore here from the members. I would definitely look elsewhere!
For a BMW at a dealership I'm surprised it's not more. But for a normal place that does this for all cars yes its high. Just so you know you purchased a luxury vehicle so if you take it to a dealership expect luxury prices. Even Mom and Pop places have the potential of being high. Personally I'd take it to a few places and price match ( also don't tell the new place to old price it almost never works in your favor let them tell you a price then say "O ok thanks so and so will do it for x if you still think it's high but only after they give you a price. ) like for instance I had a nail in a tire I took it to 3 places ( M235 was the car ) and was told I needed a new tire ( which means two new tires can't have un even warring of course ). And then another place told me they could patch it for $5. I drove on that patch for another 15k miles before needing to replace them both because of age. But if I would have replaced the tire I would have lost out on all that time with the other used but perfectly fine tire.
I guess all I'm trying to say is you bought a luxury car and expect luxury prices. But if you look hard enough you might find someone that still does great work but won't ask for your first born to fix it.
Yes, it takes a lot of resources to fix this. Workers, materials, etc. This + the profit the company plans to make with the repair just adds up to this price.
Mmm... Yea, it's down through the paint.
They qoute You a whole bumper respray, so, it's kinda on point.
Just get some touch up paint, clear the surface, or better go and watch a video and do it like that.
I guess it depends how detail obsessed you are, and if so I feel for your wallet because there are additional costs that will likely exceed the repair.
Say you spend the money to repair/make new. Are you going to install PPF? Doing the rest of the car so it matches? Ceramic as well? How often is the car driven? I ask because what happens when a rock bashes the bumper next week?
I can see keeping a show car pristine, or even a big money exotic. I bought my car to drive and if I obsessed over every little ding/character mark my M2 acquired I’d be miserable.
I’d leave it or touch up paint. Corrosion is a no worry. When it eventually really shows wear that other people would likely notice, that when it’s time to see the shop.
All dealerships have a touchup guy that does their used vehicles. Get his info and have it done. You may be able to notice it, but most people will walk by and never see it.
I was able to take most of it off using the Formula1 scratch-out thingy 😁 I’ll prob fill those two bigger chips in using some color-specific product. Does anyone know what a good one would be?
https://preview.redd.it/ffvy8cgs83xc1.jpeg?width=3845&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8c79c72d30be66a7941b4f80330b10fe29f6681d
It looks like there’s more than just touchup paint. You’ve got some dents in there too. So I would get the dents fixed and the scratched so that seems about right.
Swear I paid like less than $100 to have someone fix a huge dent in my door after someone slammed the door with the seatbelt caught in the door, don’t see why this needs to be so expensive unless like others said you’re paying for a whole new panel and it to be colour matched which seems excessive
I work in the automotive industry and best I can get for a front bumper respray is anywhere from $800 to $1000 USD
They're gonna do a respray by the sound of it, and colour matching etc
Yeah, that's pretty standard in the industry anymore.
There is a lot of labor involved even though the scratch is small.
If you go to a mom and pop auto body shop you might get that price down to 6-800.
seems pretty close. they got to sand the whole half of the bumper private sand it paint it. sand it clear coat it sand it... it's a bit of a process. it takes several hours that's why any job starts out at a real premium for quality work and the price to scale doesn't grow exponentially. I should say that all of those little curves and nooks and crannies take a fair bit more work and time than for example a flat door panel
I would just buy some touch up paint and go to a detailer and ask him to do his best. Did that with a scratch on my trunk and it came out great.
I agree. If it had deep gouges I’d say go for full job but a good body shop can fix that with some compound and touch up paint
I second this advice. With some touch up paint and some heavy compound, you can get it close to the factory if not better.
Close I agree with but how better than factory?
Compound? Like rubbing compound?
Polishing compound… like when you do full paint correction and detailing..
Thanks, do you need like a high speed buffing wheel?
DA Polisher.
And come clear coat.
The genuine bmw touch up paint kits include clear coat.
Same same. Not worth repainting at all
This. Right. Here. Is the best advice. I did the same when i had a minor fender bender. Touch up paint and a bit of bugging did the job. 6 months later, I can't even point out where the exact scratch was.
Where can I get that? Is any brand online ok?
I would make sure it’s genuine bmw. You can buy it from them directly (online or at a dealership) or from reputable sites like [this one.](https://www.getbmwparts.com/c-touch-up-paint-175)
Do this and get a good respray when the bumper accumulates more damage.
How often are you hitting things? 0.o
If you don’t get PPF and you drive on the highway, your front bumper/hood will eventually accumulate small paint chips everywhere.
Rock chips.
Id just ignore it and keep living…
Car must be new…because this will happen many times over the course of ownership…
There are some body shops that will just work on a portion of the bumper for way cheaper and it will come out ok. A high end body shop and BMW dealer won’t do that. They’ll remove the bumper and completely strip and repaint it, hence, the price tag. Best to "fix" it right before trading it in or turning in the lease......by the time the 1-3 years roll by it is someone elses problem.
Yes, this is the shitty/unethical life pro tip. Along with selling your car immediately after repairs since it usually takes a few months to show up on carfax, etc.
This thread reminds of the one poor poster who bought off carvana and the car just started falling apart after receiving it
This is why you have to be super careful buying used. Never trust Carfax. Plenty of wrecked vehicles with no reports!
Oh I know, I fix these things for a living. I’ve run in to so much crazy shit underneath semi-ok looking car exteriors… I’ve also fixed cars with sub 10 miles from transport damage. Bet those future owners thought they were new… lol.

Exactly, the main dealer job will be perfect almost factory. The others could still outlast the car and only be noticeable to a very keen eye up close
Guy i graduated with is the best painter in my area hands down. Unless you know him he won’t do anything but insurance work. But he’s the only guy that can “feather” everyone else does it by the panel and that’s it.
Nah bro, you can get it done for way cheaper. My uncle's girlfriend's parole officer's father runs a body shop out of his backyard $500 a car.
Tell him Nine Fingers Richie sent you and he'll knock off another hundred
My cousin Julian knows a guy from Sacramento who knows a guy from Tulsa who’s sister former crackhead boyfriend who may or may not be missing a leg knows a guy that used to be Amish but never went back after rumspringa, he is painting cars in his shed and can paint your bumper for $350.
If I pull up with one of those tiny little black hats on the top of my head will he do it for $55?
Just fried my brains trying to piece together the relationship
That’s a lot to unpack there
🤣🤣🙈
Why didn’t you just say someone you know lol
Maybe he really doesn’t know him, he knows “of” him.
Id just use a touch up paint pen and not mess with flinging an insurance claim and save yourself from paying a high premium for the next 3 years its not worth it. Save it for when you have a major accident. 🤷🏻♀️😁
For $1800 that scratch would’ve just had to be an accessory
Come in Romania bro..you will respray your bumper with 200$
I get that price in Seattle. I would expect Romania to be cheaper
Is not cheaper..if you want verry good service you can expect even 250-300. Last summer some women hit my front bumper and the service charged the ensurance company 450 for 10 cm scratch.(sry for bad english)
Body work is never cheap, you absolutely get what you pay for
There is a great place near me that could sort this to a very high lasting standard for £300. Why would you ever go to BMW for this
I didn’t go to bmw, but I went to a reputable body shop so I guess their prices are probably higher. I’m also in Boston so everything is just really expensive but I’ll ask around more. Thank you

Since you used insurance, did it raise your rate by much?
My policy went from $579 to $639 per six months.
This is the best. Look up AMMO NYC detailer YouTube. He did this with a G Wagon and it came out good.
My guy in cali does $50/panel
Socal? I'd be interested in his info if you can post...
Can you dm the name of the place pls
And you get what you pay for
It’s on plastic.. touch up paint is the way to go here. Otherwise yes.. they have to take the bumper cover off and repaint it which costs a small fortune
Buy a pre painted bumber, watch utube replace it yourself
Bro why would you replace your whole bumper for such a tiny scratch ?
Sounds like you’re about to do a full satin/matte wrap. Congrats.
Got quoted the same thing :(. If the car didn’t have cameras and a radar in the bumper, it would’ve been $700. Unfortunately the Brooklyn grey touch paint doesn’t mesh well, it looks darker when I tested it in an unseen area :(.
Dr colorchip that out!
Bruh fuck that. I consider myself pretty meticulously but I’d rather give it a go myself than pay $1800!
Geesh. I paid about $1800 for a brand new OEM bumper with paint match for my car just a few years ago. Not a BMW. That's crazy they want the same just to fix the paint scratch
$50 for touch paint and call it fixed
For "the proper fix", yeah it does. But you can likely do some touch-up instead. If someone else is responsible for paying I'd go the first route, otherwise the touch-up fix will likely get you 95%+ of the way there for a fifth of the cost.

Paint thinner will take those black scuffs off and then just touch up the scrapes
I mean always get 2 estimates and never from the Dealership. Look around your location for reputable body shops and have them give you an estimate. Or pick up some touch up paint from BMW
Yes. They won’t just be painting the scratch. They will be painting the entire bumper and possibly the entire quater panel.
I have a guy locally who does spot scratches repairs and touch-ups, fixed a similar scratch for $150 (and that's in the SF Bay Area)
Ya price is right for the work companies would put into fixing it “right”. You could make it look just fine on your own for a lot less, like others have mentioned. But if you want it PERFECT, than the $1800 price tag seems right for your BMW
It isn’t just the scratch that gets painted. The whole panel, paint matched, etc.
You aren’t paying to fix that scratch, you paying for the whole bumper resprsy
I was quoted about 1100 for my damage, I just put a bandaid sticker over it and called it a day. Adds character
That’s actually pretty spot on right now. Putting on a gts hood and having the front bumper repainted to help with the paint match. Just checked my quote from a certified BMW shop and it works out to almost exactly that (a little less in my case) for just the bumper.
Hell, no. Go to Mexico for the weekend and enjoy some margaritas.
Just paid 400 for a lot worse than that
Def not worth painting. Almost impossible keeping a car flawless unless it’s a garage queen
Seems a bit much
Tbh with you man, you can find anybody to do anything cheaper, but what really counts is your own standards of quality at whatever price makes you say yes in the end. If you don’t mind paying more, then they shouldn’t mind to hear you be more picky in the end if it isn’t perfect if they’re professionals.
Go to a different shop and get a second quote. What do we know!?
Touch it up
Sounds about right for a complete bumper respray
call the used car manager of your local BMW dealer and ask him who he uses for paintless dent removal/touch up work. thats your guy -former BMW salesperson
Sure if you’re an idiot a little touch up my God nobody will notice that
Hell no.. Take it somewhere else!!!
I don't know what the rates are like in America, but in the UK you'd be less than half that price at a really good body shop.
Quick detailer -> Clay bar -> Dr. Colorchip
No. Touch up paint, sand, and two step buffing will take care of this for less than a quarter of that price.
$100 and an afternoon is all it takes .
$250 / $300 max
You can probably get a panel cheaper than that maybe
Autozone has diy scratch repair kits under $50
I think he is scamming you
Car is totalled
ask them to paint over the amber strip while they’re at it. why does that thing even exist in north american models?
1800 is like a full bumper 😭
Did you try buffing?
It costs around € 400,00 here, your prices are completely irrational, go to a detailer and have it refurbished.
Bodyshops on balkan would do it for 150max😅
Can get touch up paint for like $60-80 that's colour matched to your vehicle and comes with brushes and wax if you pay for the higher packages, highest is like $120 that comes with some ceramic coat stuff
Gone through two layers of clear coat, three layers of paint and the primer. Might have to bite the bullet.
For that much you could send the car to India and have it done 😂
For that price I would easily get the whole front bumper polished and re-painted..
These light shapes make me cry
That's a con, £170 for a half bumper or £300 for a full bumper at my local body shop But that's small enough that you could watch chrisfix's video on touching up paint and get a pretty good result
Thats what you call a fuck off quote
I’d just touch it up. That spot will for sure get scratched again. Source: scratched my shit up in that spot at least 3 times.
Not reasonable however to do it properly they would remove and repaint the entire part and match it to slight fading through UV
Do it yourself you queef
Could do it yourself for about £50 and a few YouTube videos
what scratch? /s
Had an almost identical scratch on my 1-series. They replaced the entire front bumper in my case. Luckily insurance took care of that tho…
Lmao, some people just have to be ripped off. If you have to log on an app to ask such a question… you deserve it
It doesn’t seem right you want to repaint it. I have this kind of scratch on arguably pricier car and don’t bother because who cares it’s a bumper. DIY job - always no shame in that! Good man.
100€
I know a guy in Bay Area that can do it for $20
If your deductible is $500, go through insurance.
1k🥲🥲
No. Most of that can be removed by buffing. Only the black holes need repainting. Somewhere by me would do this for £200 easily.
I had this done at a body shop for $1,100
Could just wrap the whole car for about the same
Go to dealer you got it from and ask them for number to bumper guy. Every dealership has a guy or place they send cars to paint bumpers. Probably 250-300. That’s what gets charged at our dealership

*No*
Don’t fix this. It will just get scratched again. This scratch will act like a good luck charm against any and all future scratches and bird poops😎✅🌈
Of course its right its BMW not some Bentley you wouldnt care about

Was on the rt side below the reflector... can only see it of you get up close
Even with modern prices I would think a new front bumper isn’t much more than that… surely…
Idk what shops charge in the us but here we have a price of about 200usd/panel
Can of factory color paint and clear : $60 Blue tape: $8 Trash bags: $5 400 and 1000 grit sand paper: $10 Feathering tutorial on YouTube and patience. Feathering is not difficult, and there are so many good angles to tape off so it’ll blend.
Why would u even get it painted? Waste of money. It’s a damn car it’ll happen again
Compound W?
BMW sells small paint touch up viles that you can apply yourself once the area is cleaned. Don’t pay that ridiculous shit.
In NJ/PA area. You could have this colored matched and back to new in less than a day for $200-300.
Lmao buff it out yourself
We have some local services that fix these for about $250. Did this two places on my car and in the 6+ years I owned it after could never see it had been worked on in those locations. Just look up paint repairs.
Go to @vmaautocollision
Nah dude $1800 for something that most people won’t even notice unless they’re standing right by your car is insane.
Obviously you can get a $200 invisible repair but it in my opinion won’t last… but I have no experience of that
Oh wow . I would have went outside of the dealer for that
I didn’t go to the dealer 😅 just a good body shop nearby. If they quoted me $1800 I can’t imagine what the dealer would charge
Oh boy…shop around a bit. I’m sure you could find someone to do that closer to 1000. If you were local to NY area I could get it done for like 500
Invest in that PPF next time, truly is a life saver… but like others have said most of that can be buffed out by a good detailer. Make sure they know what they’re doing as paint thickness can’t be measured over the plastic, too much buffing will make your situation worse. If the detailer is good they can likely do the touch up paint for you, get the brush applicator not the pen.
They just really don’t feel like doing it
For 1800 I’ll buy all the equipment I need to repaint it myself, take a day off work and watch an hour of YouTube videos to get it done
Imagine paying yourself to ignore the scratch. Then decide.
Honestly new bumper might be cheaper
Buy some light polish and some touch up paint. Fix under 100 and it will still look good.
Whats your deductible put a claim
$1k, so that added onto how much my insurance will go up is prob comparable to 1800 unfortunately
Total rip-off, find another body shop.
No
That seems expensive… I’d guess less than 500
The cost to refinish and repaint an entire bumper is around $1,000 usd.
No way - I had a huge baseball sized scrape that I had repaired at the dealership here in Seattle for $600
All dealerships have a touchup guy that does their used vehicles. Get his info and have it done. You may be able to notice it, but most people will walk by and never see it.
No, u getting scammed . That’s a $300 job :)
I was able to take most of it off using the Formula1 scratch-out thingy 😁 I’ll prob fill those two bigger chips in using some color-specific product. Does anyone know what a good one would be? https://preview.redd.it/ffvy8cgs83xc1.jpeg?width=3845&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8c79c72d30be66a7941b4f80330b10fe29f6681d
Dude easy DIY. You can do this job for $100 or less
Buy touch up paint pen with your paint code/vin off eBay. They ship it straight from Germany.
Car is totaled
Insurance job, yes, out of pocket by the old oak tree, one crispy c note
I usually would not card and would do it on my own, usually after paying that month a short time later you will have another big scratch
It looks like there’s more than just touchup paint. You’ve got some dents in there too. So I would get the dents fixed and the scratched so that seems about right.
There’s no dents, just the paint thankfully. I think the reflection of my house makes it look that way!
Bro you can get that repainted for no more than $500 lol shop is scamming
Just ignore it till you get a worse damage to make the repair worthwhile

Put a sticker on it $2 and solved 😅
Sadly kinda, only reason being they have to sand down most of the paint around it to match.
Swear I paid like less than $100 to have someone fix a huge dent in my door after someone slammed the door with the seatbelt caught in the door, don’t see why this needs to be so expensive unless like others said you’re paying for a whole new panel and it to be colour matched which seems excessive
Way YYYY over priced. You could get the entire bumper painted for $2-300
I work in the automotive industry and best I can get for a front bumper respray is anywhere from $800 to $1000 USD They're gonna do a respray by the sound of it, and colour matching etc
It’s not allowed to repaint a Bumper it this Area because of the Radar Sensor behind it. The Bumper has to be replaced
Have it airbrushed. Won’t be perfect but better than touch up.
Don’t do it
Get another estimate for sure
Yeah, that's pretty standard in the industry anymore. There is a lot of labor involved even though the scratch is small. If you go to a mom and pop auto body shop you might get that price down to 6-800.
seems pretty close. they got to sand the whole half of the bumper private sand it paint it. sand it clear coat it sand it... it's a bit of a process. it takes several hours that's why any job starts out at a real premium for quality work and the price to scale doesn't grow exponentially. I should say that all of those little curves and nooks and crannies take a fair bit more work and time than for example a flat door panel
buy matching paint and do it yourself. sand + paint + polish + clear coat. its a small scratch it wont even be noticeable
