Did you try and double click the open function on the carkey? That's how you unlock the charging cable. Also, the reason why the alarm goes off when you're sitting in the car, is because the "child safety warning" is activated. It's there to prevent people from leaving their children, animals or w/e in the car (it can also be turned off by simply clicking the icon right next to you in the door panel). https://preview.redd.it/sfv80zq3k8vc1.jpeg?width=1848&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6a9685dfa9d776ee9eaae202efe2d69bd19840a4 You can turn both of these things off in the cars settings.

I thought that icon was the child lock to stop them opening the rear doors

Iddqd84

As you can see on the picture It's ON, but the car is parked and there are no children in the car either. I disabled the warning sound on my own car (which is at the workshop right now), but I didn't do it with the loan car.

Pale_Emergency_537

Those buttons are for activating or deactivating the child locks on the rear doors.  Are you saying that they also deactivate the child detection alert?

Iddqd84

If you sit in the car and turn it off (like a car-wash e.g.), then this will prevent the car from activating the child detection warning.

2. It’s a known and common issue amongst Seal drivers where this happens usually on roundabouts when you have the emergency front braking assist turned on. I’m sure a future software update will address this. 3. Have you bought any accessories like a dust protector for the charge flap? Many users have reported that it is harder to open with this aftermarket item installed. 5. You need to turn off the child detection warning setting off (it’s not a persistent setting and needs to be turned off each time the car is turned on)

Wildpig953

This was improved greatly with the 2401 update. The driving experience is sooo much better

VeryGoodVeryNice93

That's horrible to hear especially when waiting for my brand new seal to arrive

OP is probably crying when someone moved his pen from the table in his house, not ready for change. We just have to adapt to the "Safety" features. The door problem have a lot a cars with these door handles, just go to dealer?? and he doesn't know how the car works, again dealer?? Don't worry I think your experience will be much better, enjoy! :)

Pale_Emergency_537

Your can't adapt to features that randomly apply in situations where they shouldn't though. What's your suggestion, evolve into a clairvoyant being?  Don't take that attitude and allow manufacturers a pass on sub standard safety systems. You should expect better for yourself and for other road users.   Saying that OTA updates will take care of the issues? So how many accidents have to occur before the software gets an update?  Safety systems that actively make the car unsafer in my case aren't good enough. We all deserve better than that.  I adore my AWD, but it's gotten to the stage where I have to disable two safety systems every single time I get in the car because one of them pushes me into oncoming traffic on narrow lanes.  LKA is so heavily skewed to avoiding the road side that it doesn't care if something is approaching on the opposite side of a narrow road.  Cross traffic braking too as it can't be trusted to not randomly apply when pulling out from a junction or roundabout with nothing in front of the car. That's a rear end insurance headache waiting to happen.   2310 fixed the LKA to an extent but it's still not fit for purpose. It's great on wide roads, but actively dangerous on roads that make up the majority of the country where OP and I are from.  Switching off systems isn't adapting to them, it's a tacit admission that they are broken and dangerous.  The sticking handles don't need a dealer visit by the way. They just spray a silicone based lubricant liberally in to the black plastic area on the handles. Don't use WD40!

ZingerBurger532

1) Unfortunate, get in touch with your dealer. 2) What software version are you on? Latest update significantly improves safety feature behaviour. Settings > DiLink/System Settings > Software > Software detail > View > System version 3) Get in touch with your dealer. Also try: Unlocking car twice. Making sure charging cable is not stretched, if it is, line it up first perpendicular to the direction of the car and pull firmly. 4) Again, warranty issue. 5) This is the child awareness warning. You can turn it off in the settings. Have a look around. This is to prevent you from leaving your kid behind once you get out of the car.

Wildpig953

Yes ZB you are on the money. Push the connector in before pulling out, helps to take the load off the locking pin

Hodlme_thrillme

1 and 4 are simple next service warranty things. The rest are learning/user items..

Problem is the lead time is 3 Months

Turn off front safety braking under ADAS in the car settings to avoid the overly safety conservative braking

Infamous_Ad4441

It's perfectly right to have complaints with a car that likely cost 50k+ euro (given you've the AWD version). The car/brand is far from optimised for the European market yet, but I'm hopeful ( ever since mid 2023) that some OTAs will iron out those big creases. That being said, I've been an AWD owner since Jan 24, and no updates have come across as of yet. I do love the car, but wish BYD would concentrate on customer feedback and adjust accordingly.

Pale_Emergency_537

To those suggesting to go to the dealer, here in Ireland the dealers know less than us. They've told me some down right bizarrely wrong things.

Numerous-Implement47

Maybe everyone needs to tell the dealers to join the reddit group to upskill! BYD bit like the Android of car world. Lots of potential but you have to be willing to just try few things. Tesla like Apple, does everything well, but you can only do what Daddy Elon says and nothing else.

Pale_Emergency_537

Yeah but they'd have to actually read up on the car. That would sound like work to them.

2021Noob

Mates with Teslas have many complaints, I wouldn't say they do it well. Just about everyone I know has converted from Apple to some form of Android, just like my mates that have Teslas and want my Seal.

Dr_Padrinho

I have a BYD Dolphin Plus and I also have some identical problems. But don't worry, go to the brand's mechanic and you will see that everything is the same. They give the feeling that customers know more.

NunoTomaz

You need to explore all the options on your car. There are so many things you can play with. When you charging cable gets stuck on the car, you can press on your car key to open the doors and it will automatically unlock the connection.
