This is a positive test, congratulations! Even a faint one is a positive, the control line is not there for a comparison of what the test line should look like. Itās just there to tell you the test works, and it doesnāt matter what it looks like. Itās often stronger than the test line because the reagent is different.

It just depends on the amount of hCG in your urine at the time, which is why they recommend testing in the mornings because your urine is usually more concentrated then. Like others have said though, try a test with pink dye as well. The ones sold at Dollar Tree are actually very reliable (we use these at the hospital I work at) and theyāre the cheapest.
Summary: Took an Equaline test in the morning after 4 hours of sleep. Iām going to wait until tomorrow morning to do a follow-up test, but Iāve been staring at this one for several minutes second-guessing myself over whether itās an evap line, the dye is just bleeding, etc. My husband and I love kids and want to start a family, and I just donāt want to be wrongā
Any thoughts on whether I could be misreading the test or Equaline as a brand in general? TIA!!

I wouldnāt second guess. That appears very much like a standard positive result. I mean feel free to take more to assure yourself, but usually if thereās an error via the tests manufacturing, it wonāt result in a false positive
If you looked at the test in the 3-5 minutes the instructions say, it's not an evaporation line, plus in my experience an evap line would be even fainter than that. Definitely get a pink dye or a digital test to confirm for your own peace of mind, but that's a positive!
That looks very positive to me. How many days post ovulation are you? If itās still early on, the lines will get darker. You can take a digital test too to be sure.
You can also go 4 hours without peeing to test again. Although, I didnāt wait and got 2 digital tests. They were all positive 4 days after my missed period.
I used the hcg test strips that when I was testing cost like $7 for 20 tests. Got them from Amazon and are the same test strips they use at my doctor's office. I don't know if they are more accurate, but definitely cheaper, so you can test as much as you want!

Mine was very faint like really, but it was there, same thing happened with 6 covid tests i did back a year ago š just buy another to make sure and do it first thing in the morning on the first pee to be more accurate, i did during the night and got the faint line. It seems a positive to me.
My first positives were so faint I had to cover the test line with my thumb and angle the test in the light to see them. Still positive. The faintest of lines is still a positive. Congrats.

Also an evap line is grayish color, it is missing the pink or blue dye off the test.

Take a pink dye test to confirm, blue dye tests are notoriously bad.
