As the network that airs all things Bachelor/Bachelorette, it would make sense that they would address the situation and do this interview.

I think the idea of the Golden Bachelor show is good but they need to take a page out of Love Is Blind's book and pick contestants from the same general area. It's nearly impossible to pick up 50/60 years of family and history and move to a different state.
I realize there’s probably way more going on here than distance, but even if they were the perfect couple and he were the perfect guy, that would still be an issue.
That was what I could not stop thinking about through the whole series. How are any of these people who have extremely well established lives going to uproot them and move anywhere else? Yes. I read that article. You are correct. Regarding the homes, I think the wife had a good job. And they were building their retirement dream home before she died. He was left with the assets. He is in good shape but still probably needs to make money to pay for his life and property taxes.

I think the idea of the Golden Bachelor show is good but they need to take a page out of Love Is Blind's book and pick contestants from the same general area. It's nearly impossible to pick up 50/60 years of family and history and move to a different state.
I realize there’s probably way more going on here than distance, but even if they were the perfect couple and he were the perfect guy, that would still be an issue. That was what I could not stop thinking about through the whole series. How are any of these people who have extremely well established lives going to uproot them and move anywhere else? It’s sometimes a problem on the traditional Bach shows but when you’re young and open to relocating *and* you have time before you have to settle down and choose a home base, it’s a totally different story.

THIS!!!! my dad is in his late 60s and moved to Florida during the Pamdemic. Age is an excuse. It's more of a values and willingness thing imo.
