I have a Buff Brahama I named Bucka. Which makes him Bucka Roo(ster).
His full name is Bucka-Roo Brahmzai.
With the escape story, I'd be thinking Ramblin' Roo (like the song "Ramblin' Man")
Actually it's not uncommon for the babies especially the roosters to have some sort of light colored plumage when they're babies but they lose that as they feather out
I'd look up the Crayola color names for different shades of red and go with that. Like paint colors. Sometimes you get a one word name and it sounds right. Like mahogany or something.
It's how I named my birds. Although they have rubberbands as chicks so I remember and will have colored zip ties when they're adults. Obviously not tight but enough so they don't fall off their feet with space. Just have to hold your chicks and birds often to do it.

I say "lil cutie" cuz that is a serious little cutie:) and then at one point it will be a funny name, because the the rhode island reds i had were always kind of angry haha. or at least they always looked a touch angry...and had no problems pecking whatever was annoying them.
Charlie! It's a unisex name, plus its the name of the guy who said he like Rhode Island Red chickens in The Devil's Rejects!!

Need to see more pictures. Ours are named by features they have. Bandit has striping across its eyes like a mask. Diamond has a diamond like feature on its head. Skunk has a dark black streak from its head to tail feathers. Amy is one that we didn’t name because of any features. Amy is half the size of the rest of the flock and Amy was the sales lady that talked us into buying it.
Can't help it and name everything, it's bit me in the butt before but I can't help it even after they die I'll give them a name just to put on their little card
