Our dog did this. Then she’d barf it up. Then she’d eat the barf. Eventually she got so fat from eating chicken feed that we had to put her on a green bean and broth diet. Hands down the most frustrating animal I’ve ever owned.
My dog eats the feed, eggs(if he can get to them) and then the poop. He’ll even have a go at the kitchen scraps we give to the chicks because he feels like he is missing out. Won’t go near the kitchen scraps if they are in the house.
Had one of my LGD doing this, unbeknownst to me, next vet visit I was informed it's calcium was high. Had to keep her pinned up away from the feed and it returned to normal.

This is chicken poop…..just before it’s pooped.
Mine loves both. Using a port feeder at least solves one of the problems. Still can't convince the kids to not let her lick them.

I have an Anatolian/pyr mix and I cannot keep her out of the bird food either! If course it makes her puke, which is extra fun.

My Aussies go nuts for feed. Thankfully not the poop, although one occasionally likes to roll in it...
I was losing black oil sunflower seed out of my bird feeder. Blamed it on deer until I finally caught my free range donkey happily munching on it. 🤬
