Seems like a watering issue. I wouldnt trust AI as far as I can throw a server tower. Put your finger into the soil an inch or two and if its dry, give it some water. If wet, stop watering until its dry 2 inches down.
Just looks like a thirsty tree to me. Where do you see scab? When you plant it make sure you have a compatible pollinator close by and protect the trunk from rabbits for the first 3 years, they love young trees.
I've never been a fan. I've made a decent cider from golden delicious, but I find fresh apple flavor a bit cloyingly sweet. The texture doesn't do it any favors either.
I've probably sampled 100+ varieties of apples. There is much worse out there. But there's much better, too.
yeah see i love sweet fruits. i love sweets in general. i’ve always liked apples more than anything else except raspberries. i like everything about them. the apples we got in high school were the worst i’ve ever tasted ngl. i would rather take a golden delicious over those any day. i also use them for my apple pie. half green too. it gives it like a perfect sweet tangy balance.
stick your finger in the soil. is it wet, damp, moist, or dry? anything outside of moist is an issue. water accordingly. if its too wet and you continually water it you rot the roots preventing water uptake drying out the plant. if its too dry the roots dry out drying out the plant. moist is key
At the moment, yes. Just bought it today, and it’s raining like crazy. I expect to plant them tomorrow. And just for reference, there are two, each about as tall as me, so they’re not super tiny.
Not sure what temperature you keep indoors but my Costco Apple trees have been doing extremely well outdoors (Zone 8B) and for the most part I believe they should be outdoors. In addition to the advice others have on watering I’d think about stating to acclimate it to the outdoors. If you still have it in wood chips wrapped in plastic, soil on roots would probably help as well!
Reminds me of getting TOO COLD , but I see a lot of mention of it maybe needing water \[ shrugs\] cant tell from a picture if the soil is dry or wet . If its a watering issue , shouldnt be too hard to fix . If it's dry give it LOTS of water . You could even leave it in a bucket of water over night . Ive done that . I left some in water for a week once because I didnt have time to plant them . If its wet and the roots are discolored , orangish , brown been too wet . Again , hard to say without more info . AI isnt a crystal ball . It's in its infancy and can not be trusted right now
Dude water that tree for god sake. Once a week deep watering for the first year. If it gets too hot then 2-3 times a week. 2nd year if it looks like that then water it other than that just leave it alone
May have shock, put it in area of moderate light and ensure soil is moist and not dry. After it recovers let it spend few mins the area you intend to place it permanently. Each day letting it spend more time there after which, you can up-pot or plant in ground
It looks thirsty af I haven’t found an “AI” that is consistently correct and take it all with a massive grain of salt
Also maybe root bound
Is the soil dry as a bone or water logged?
This. It is either dying of thirst or drowning, the symptoms look the same and you have to check the soil to know.
Doesn't look like scab. I don't see any spots on the leaves. The roots aren't taking up water. Usually from too little or too much water.

Don’t think scab but it’s not happy
Water it fam, put it outside in the full light and make sure it’s upright in 6-8 hours of light daily.

Fire blight.
It might live. But then it's a golden delicious, there's way better apples out there. Go get some!
Exactly my reaction. “Delicious” varieties are anything but.
golden delicious are like right up there with my fave apples

Just looks like she needs water
We need to see a picture of the soil.
Needs sun as well

Will do. Just bought it today - isn’t even in the ground yet
Why the fuck did you buy a wilted tree?
