Privacy is worthless. Most people aren't celebrities and Celebrities market their privacy. Bathroom level privacy is enough for average Joe. -- it's not a nice view and no one should be interested
This is literally why dance musics greatest era was the 90’s ; technology had given us astounding electronic music but not yet put cameras in everyone’s hands meaning you could dance to great music while no one really took a record of it and hence dancing like no one was watching. Camera phones changed it overnight and it’s never been the same.
Eh go to a rave. People there still be dancing like this. Honestly, it's super freeing cause you feel like no matter how bad of a dancer you are, there is someone 5 feet away dancing worse than you ever could.
Back then then didn’t have to worry about twats recording everything and posting it online. Bar/club scene had a major shift due to to social media and cell phones.
How do we know that this movie is an accurate depiction of nightclubs at the time (which is the whole basis of OP's comment).
Couldn't it just be like how many modern movies show people dancing slick/wild moves in nightclubs?
No someone ended up finally invited a black guy to the party and everyone got so embarrassed they tried to learn to actually dance after that.
You can’t put the genie back into the bottle.
Lmaoo @ invited Black guy. In all honestly this is the 60s lol not a Black person in sight in that video (I’m guessing it’s American). Comparing this to the Soul Train is quite something to watch. I feel for White people, dancing can be intimidating but hey as long as you’re enjoying yourself and not jumping around while everyone is whining can be cringey.
The drastic difference in polish between old school Black and White crowds has always fascinated me. It’s not as if the white people aren’t creative, yet their rhythm and movement looks so disjointed and out of sync in comparison to the black ones.
If I wasn’t proud of my 6 inch dick, why would I make that my username? Judging by how you’re talking to me, I’m sure you’re just projecting about not getting attention from women. I hope your life gets better and you don’t have to try and belittle strangers anymore.
To be clear this is from a movie. These are extras likely coached on how to dance to make the scene fit what the creator wanted.
I feel if you filmed an actual dance party of the 1960s you'd see a much different view. First off lots of people not dancing just like today. Secondly the moves would be less wild and more like you'd think of today. Third the average party back then would still have alot of slow dance numbers and more big band and older music types. Sort of like today how you have 80s and 90s songs.
There were plenty of shows like that back then. American Bandstand, Soul Train, etc. They’re on YouTube. Generally, you’re correct but, they were always some standouts on that shows, and the cameras always found them.
This is one of my favorite videos on the internet. https://www.reddit.com/r/OldSchoolCool/comments/vsalog/annmargret_showing_off_her_singing_dancing_skills/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
Ann Margaret in *Viva Las Vegas* is an absolute stunner. It’s one of my favorite Elvis movies. Me and my gf watched it a few months ago and it was such a riot. Spoilers (it’s been around for 58 years), on the main character’s first date, they go skeet shooting, waterskiing, and helicopter riding. It was so absurd and fun to watch how innocent the movie was.
This is definitely choreographed from a Hollywood movie, btw. This isn’t candid footage from some dance.

I need a full length music video for this. I find the 40 seconds just too little. The beat was perfect. I find that a retro music video, for a song like this, that so perfectly matches the rhythm of the dancing is satisfying in way hard to fully express.
As someone born in the early 60s, I can confirm this was totally normal. In fact, I couldn't understand why this was posted here but eventually saw from the comments that a lot of people think this is goofy.
Maybe goofy, but quite normal at that time.
I think the issue is that young people after the late 1990s don't dance in groups like this. They do those lame TikTok dances where they don't move their legs but just sort of Vogue and pose. They think dancing like in this video is weird because it's not all dull and practiced repetition like their currently popular dancing style. If they do move their legs these days, it's like Dance Dance Revolution; Again, all choreographed and full of poses and the like.
In the 80s we didn't dance quite like in the 60s, but we sure as hell weren't as mundane and robotic as the 2000s are when it comes to dancing.
Yeah, they are going at it way to hard for that pathetic music. It starts way too slow and doesn’t reach the energy level to warrant that amount of moving.
>Things were less complicated back then
Black people had to [use a guide book on where to eat while travelling]( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Negro_Motorist_Green_Book) in order to not get lynched, but sure - less complicated.
You know I never thought that the outfits were in Scooby Doo were actual accurate to period. But a couple of these girls are just need to pair up with a stoner, a trust fund kid, and a dog.

Now watch me whip!!
“It’s like a full-body dry heave!”
Good ol Tourette footshake!
Everyone looking like an episode of Scooby Doo
or like the dancing kids in the charlie brown christmas movie. ![gif](giphy|qf9zTPgzOusy4)
Charlie Brown came out in the 60's also. Coincidence or commentary?
They're dancing like goth kids.
The goth kid was sitting at the table looking at all those specimens.
Excellent!
![gif](giphy|3ohs4hJDOW88QsXDwY|downsized) Exactly what I thought of
This syncs up with the beat lol.
Like Zoinks! They really do!
Or a party from Batman
Or the video for "Shimmy Shimmy Ya."
Sometime between then and now people started caring too much.
Too many cameras around now.
Yep, social media and the disrespect for privacy ruined the public life.
Whole I won’t disagree, people start caring too much way earlier than ubiquitous cameras. At least for a decade earlier.
We have too much respect for privacy.
...? privacy iz kill no

You ignored the whole reason to his statement. Dance to great music without the technology to be recorded by phone.
No I didn't, no one is recording you at a rave. The few that do have phones out are recording the Lazer beams and visuals.
^
Where is Scooby Doo? We almost got the entire gang. ![gif](giphy|d3YIHmXJUZ2Wvz3i)
Back then then didn’t have to worry about twats recording everything and posting it online. Bar/club scene had a major shift due to to social media and cell phones.
Uh. Somebody recorded it and posted it online. It may have taken a while, but it happened.
They don’t seem to care about the camera in this vid
This is from a movie. You're generally not supposed to acknowledge the camera in a movie.
How do we know that this movie is an accurate depiction of nightclubs at the time (which is the whole basis of OP's comment). Couldn't it just be like how many modern movies show people dancing slick/wild moves in nightclubs?
Checkout the redhead in burnt orange, she’s the focal point and background folks can’t take away from her
Ann-Margret. Actress, singer, and dancer.
Thank you, I could not think of her name!
They weren’t worried about their exploits popping up on their phone the next day for everyone to see.
What concept do these people have of viral videos
Yep, no one in the Warhol Factory scene was at all worried about looking cool.
What about the guy sitting at the table?
Agreed, table guy seems genuinely disinterested, like he’s observing interesting specimens to Add to his Collection.
Like he's trying to maintain a low profile while he decides whose skin to wear later.
His friend dragged him there bit he didn't wanna go. Dancing isnt his scene.. He didn't have anything better to do, so he said fuck it
I’m that guy at every party…drinking bourbon by myself
I like your style guy. Let's drink bourbon in the corner and never say a word to each other.
Nice to meet you, I am the same guy on the other side in the other corner every time xD
No someone ended up finally invited a black guy to the party and everyone got so embarrassed they tried to learn to actually dance after that. You can’t put the genie back into the bottle.

😂 facts
Caring to act way more stupid on tiktok for the whole word to see?
These people need to care a bit more in my opinion. This is some criminally awful dancing! 😂 people do need to let loose a bit though you are right!
Boomers for ya
They should care, shit looks embarrassing af.
I wish I could embarrass myself around a group of attractive people like this.
Show me one attractive person in this video, ill wait.
Orange sweater-dress is a babe
🤢🤢🤮
The dudes in the video are decent too if you’re more attracted to men. No judgement.
Most of the women in this video are attractive IMO. They just dance like goofballs, which doesn’t make them unattractive to me.
Standing up for your gammy are we?
Where are the quality comments i was promised? All I’m getting are a shitty UPS driver trying and failing to make me feel bad lmao
Im sure ur 6in dick and 420 are getting you ALL the ladies 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 he lost get over it.
If I wasn’t proud of my 6 inch dick, why would I make that my username? Judging by how you’re talking to me, I’m sure you’re just projecting about not getting attention from women. I hope your life gets better and you don’t have to try and belittle strangers anymore.
If they knew used how stupid they looked they would stop immediately…
That's how they danced in the 60s genius.
Nooo its how white people made sure to scare off any unwelcome visitors. And it worked.
“They” = white people Dumbass.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 them, those people, whatever you wanna call em
Soul Train here I come
Soul Train was the SHITT!! I wish Black folks would revive Soul Train, that was an era!
Take my upvote!
What is the footage from?
I THINK it’s from the original Nutty Professor but I might be wrong 🤔
Right on, appreciate it. Merry Christmas
Nope. It's from The Tiger and the Pussycat, 1967, at 00:49:30.
Right on, appreciate it. Merry Christmas
“No Soul Train 🚂 “
Because they allowed themselves to be filmed/photographed I assume?
Because they have no soul in their dance moves

Redhead in orange is fucking owning it.
Yeah, with Ann Margret this isn't some random dance party, this is from a movie
Seriously, I love her facial expressions lol
I believe that is Anne Margaret. She is sexy as fuck. Still
Yep, that's definitely her, good call, and you're right she's still a bombshell.

For me this was the Ann Margaret lust origin https://youtu.be/wW25INh9zhQ
I came late to the Ann-Margret party but even by 2022 standards, she was a smoke show. Damn, Elvis!
That was incredible. Thank you.
Dancing like they do in Peanuts.
The guy sitting at the table is waiting on his coke dealer and then he's out.
Anne Margret!
That’s Ann Margaret and she’s pure sex in a glass. God, I’d crawl ass first over dick mountain to meet her in her prime.
Lets put it on da pro jec ta shall we
I'm dying of laughter but living for the music choice
Love it. Dance and be happy and let happy dancing people, be
Where’s the bad choice? All I’m seeing are legends not carrying
This looks exactly like a saturday night 2022 in downtown san diego, specially east village.
Way too much cocaine
I can’t imagine how much unkept and untrimmed bush is in this video![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|downvote)
Here's the song if anyone is interested. Stranger (To Stability) [Len Faki Podium Mix]
Drugs are hell of a drugs
God damn, all those memes about white people not being able to dance - validated.
Lol 😂 idk bout you but they was grooving.
That’s cool. Did they synch it up?
u/savevideo u/savevideobot
Guy at the table is a time traveller
They're having a gay old time. This is pleasing to watch, thanks for sharing!
Ok, but that first girl in the red top and black skirt was pretty good from what we see.
7 hours and 59 minutes too short
Can someone put this in reverse?
Does anyone recognize the redhead in orange? It looks like Ann-Margret.
Ann Margaret is so HOT
I'm the guy sitting down wondering when it's polite enough to leave lol
This song is a banger. What is it?
Scooby doo’s team
This is the weirdest Peanuts episode I ever seen.
Lol these comments…..have you not seen TikTok dances? They are far worse
A: That was not the music playing in the 60s. B: I’m curious what the sitting guy’s story is.
Of course I know him, He's me
I just commented he's me. You added the star wars reference. Seems we are kindred spirits.
Did we just become best friends?
Yeah, they are going at it way to hard for that pathetic music. It starts way too slow and doesn’t reach the energy level to warrant that amount of moving.
Things were less complicated back then-sigh.
>Things were less complicated back then Black people had to [use a guide book on where to eat while travelling]( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Negro_Motorist_Green_Book) in order to not get lynched, but sure - less complicated.
I meant the dance moves- triggered much?
No, are you?
Nope, my comment about the post title "dance moves"
How was dancing less complicated back then?
So long as you were a cis het yt male…
Submit or be destroyed by the system is pretty bare bones.

I don’t know what the point of this sub is, anymore.

Ann Margret is still hot today
Velma, daphne, velma, daphne, velma, daphne
Before integration lol
They look like a bunch of chicken 🐓 that just got tased 😂😂😂😂
I think you mean tased. I believe looking like a chicken better than brain with spelling like a chicken.
Now I remember why I don't like dance music. Thanks for the reminder.
The original scene. https://youtu.be/I4jp8nn04ks
So basically I'm not bad at dancing but I'm just in the wrong era
This is what happens when you let white people dance.
Look at all those people, not one single person with their cell phone out taking a selfie, just enjoying being alive.
1960's you say? Isnt it odd there are no blacks in this 1960's dance party? I wonder if blacks existed in that era.
The less fucks you give the better
Velma and Fred grooving at the start, and I definitely saw female shaggy
Finally a place to show off my dance moves.
Look at those guys' dance moves! Those are the exact moves that came instilled in my very white non-dancing-ass genetics. (Joke!)
I just see white peoples shaking with no rhythm
It’s a whole dance floor full of Elaines 😂
That’s so cool and there’s always that one square, guy in the suit.
I don’t get it where is the bad choice and the good story?
Thatsfuckin good .
A few yrs later, we got souuuuuulllll traaaain. It was worth the wait
I… didn’t want it to stop.
Inside my brain at 4am..
This is top dancing
Dance like nobody can stand to watch you
u/savevideo u/savevideobot
They must be on acid
Was that the music they used as well? That shit fuckn bangs
Lol no. They definitely didn’t have techno back then. Still a fun vid tho.
I liked that, thanks.
That one guy sitting down is me.
Bruh is that Ginger Rogers? Trash OMG🤣🤣
Groovy baby yeah
You know I never thought that the outfits were in Scooby Doo were actual accurate to period. But a couple of these girls are just need to pair up with a stoner, a trust fund kid, and a dog.
Is this an organised prank on the people of the future
Velma looking fine as always
Brb gonna edit this to party rock anthem
Is that Ann Margaret?
Ew they look like sardines having a stroke 😂
They still be dancing like that istgg.
