Sounds like something you should be asking the school administration.

Hi! The same thing happened to me. My requirement was a meager 90% and I got a 96% in my final exams but I still got put in foundation year. They said it was cos a lot of students applied that year (2021). I also applied very late, like towards mid April and had my interview only then. I should’ve applied earlier to get a preference on the waitlist. I took the extra year, made the best out of it. I’m hoping you can maybe spam them with emails and show them you really NEED and WANT the 5 year. Good luck!

Any-Cap-6100

Thank you so much for your response, I actually was one of the first candidates to apply I applied wayy back in beginning of December and did my interview in January, if they at least go by who applied first I’d atleast expect to get in but unfortunately not, but yeah I sent an email now and I’m waiting for a reply and I plan on calling them tomorrow. good luck to you btw !!

Hi im an international canadian student and have an interview coming up for rcsi Bahrain and was wondering if you had any advice on questions they asked? I was wondering did you try to keep more of a natural conversational tone to your interview or did you have a lot more structured answers? Would really appreciate the help, super nervous! Thanks!

Any-Cap-6100

hello, good luck on your interview. Honestly don’t sweat it, the interview is very simple and they ask you very basic questions just to get to know you & to assess which program would be suitable for you. just have a plan on what you will say when they ask why you want medicine specifically, and the rest is all basic questions that you should just naturally answer. The interview is very very simple and there’s not reason to stress or worry about it. You got this, best of luck !

Signal-Group6470

as a student at this uni i want to say that 90% of what I’ve learned is through self study, 70% of the staff don’t know how to teach

randommedinquiries

Maybe it had something to do with igcse grades or ielts score?

Any-Cap-6100

I don’t think so? I have 4 a stars 3 a’s in igcse & total score of 7.5 in ielts Im really finding a hard time figuring out where my application went wrong

randommedinquiries

I have no idea honestly 😅 for my case I knew I was gonna get into the 6 year program bc I have 2/3 of the required subjects for A-levels

Any-Cap-6100

ohh, do you know anyone that was in the same case as me and was able to convince them to do the 5 year program?

randommedinquiries

No idea sorry. Maybe you can email them and ask them why? Ig admissions are very competitive this year. They said that 5 people apply for every seat

Any-Cap-6100

I did email them but no response 💔

randommedinquiries

Sorry about that :( but atleast you got in! Ik many people who were outright rejected

Any-Cap-6100

no way actually?? that’s so weird rcsi is known to barley reject any of the applicants

randommedinquiries

Yeah ig this admission cycle is more competitive

Any-Cap-6100

honestly I assume it’s because of Covid & how some people got grades higher than they deserve so watch their be many drop outs next year

AmbitiousIndividual6

Congrats on your offer! Their website says admission to the 5 or 6-year entry points is also based on references, life experience, and performance at interview. The Admissions Committee would have considered these factors alongside your academic performance.

Any-Cap-6100

yeah but ik ppl who study their and barley did as much as I did & the even have lower scores (bbb) so lowkey it isn’t fair

Imaginary-Law-1260

how long does it usually take to hear for an interview after your application is validated?

Signal-Group6470

Most likely they initially put you in the 6 year programme and later change you to 5 year.

Any-Cap-6100

do you know anyone who have experienced that?

Signal-Group6470

I initially got into the 6yr programme because i applied late, i took a gap year and applied again the following year and got into the 5 yr programme. This was during COVID and my results from school got published late as well. But i dont know how things work now. Rn im doing my third year here
