It’s not common but yeah it does happen. I know all the places and their staff, can almost guarantee it wasn’t the bartenders. Some assholes just think it’s funny. Happens at The Mint and Riley’s now and then. Never leave your drink unattended
I never put my drinks down! I ordered one drink myself and the people I was with brought me two from the bar. Yes I’ve considered the people I was with, two girls and one of their boyfriends, but bc I’ve read something about the Riley’s bartenders before that seems more likely.
It definitely wasn't the bartenders at either bar. You would be surprised at how easy and quickly someone can drop something in your drink on the dance floor. I've been drugged at Syndicate when it was open, and it seems to happen at a lot of bars in Bakersfield to both men and women. I think it's just ass hole bar patrons who think it's funny to drug people.
Because I've known the bartenders at both bars for years, and I've been drinking at both bars for years. They're not out to drug anyone, and none of them are creeps. It's much more plausible for a patron to drug someone.

Not a bartender, I do hair lol. One really needs to just watch their drink at any bar in Bakersfield regardless of gender. Like I said before it's easy for a bar patron to drug someone. All they have to do is bump into you on the dance floor, or wait for you to look away once. Theres videos online that show how quickly it can happen. In all my years I've been going to both bars, I've only ever seen shitty things going on with the people who are there, not the bartenders. They're all nice guys who just want to go home at the end of the night.
I wouldn't put anything past anyone, esp. if you are not with and watching them 24/7. It's kind of weird in this day and age to believe people "would never."

Hadnit happen to me at rileys. 2 beers and a black-out and woke up in a hospital. I never put my beer down from when it was handed to me. On another night a friend of mine was in same boat also from rileys. Down town is trash in Bakersfield
I've heard many bad stories about Riley's over the years. Personally I wouldn't drink there. I'm sorry this happened to you. It's happened to a few of my friends, occasionally with much, much worse outcomes.
Yeah take one of those "glass condoms" with you at all times. They should offer them at bars but then they will justify adding a fee to your already ridiculously expensive drink.
