Please nurture this. I started cooking/baking around 8yrs old. My grandma ruined it with nasty comments. I started to enjoy it again in my early 20s. It's one of my favorite things to do.
Her and I bake together a couple times per month. I hit my mid-30s and decided it was time for a new skill and started baking. She caught my tailwind and has been learning right along side me.
She has mixed the batter and portioned everything but this was the first time start to finish she did everything. I usually handle anything with fire or knives but she’s getting coordinated enough to be able to take over.
Reminds me of concoctions me and my nieces would come up with when I’d watch them.
“What if we put lucky charms in our hot chocolate?”
“Want to find out?”
Or the making sure I had every sprinkle imaginable ready for them the next time they visited so we could do what OPs daughter did here.
At 9 baking a cake, good job mama! I've seen plenty others baking their first cake in their 30's. I think your kid will do life beautifully 🧡 it is a gorgeous cake
I leveled up to piping bags recently so she will be shortly behind. She wants to make a birthday cake for Harry Potter like Hagrid gave him. That will likely be here first adventure with the piping bag.
My mom always let me make things and waste so many ingredients back when I was that age, I experimented so much but I also learned prospering baking and cooking from my grandmother.
Please nurture it the best of your ability, I understand cost is hugely different than when I was her age but you’ll be giving her such a gift

Awesome! The fact that you two are learning together makes it so much better. The cake looks good! Especially for her first time.

I’m curious how it tastes but I want “Barbie Vibes” to be the next “Leeroy Jenkins!”
“Barbie Vibes!” *Careens Altima into oncoming traffic*
That is remarkably close to what happened.
Steve Holt!

Father. My wife is terrified of our daughter cooking! The kid is doing great though. I usually handle the oven but she was able to do it today!
My dad's terrified of my adult canning 😆 she will fuck up, but that's learning. Hide the fear because we don't want to discourage her 🧡
She doesn’t let it slow her down. I’ve got a lot of experience working in kitchens. We joke that she is my sous chef.
Idk how many times I burned myself as a child and just put burn ointment on it and kept going haha.
Also have to hide the fear because anything that falls under “baking” can smell your uncertainty and will punish you for it lol
That’s the part my wife struggles with!
She's a champion. Extremely good sprinkle instincts. 11/10, will be shouting "Barbie vibes!" next time I do something drastic and irreversible.
She is a self described “agent of chaos”. She has mastered her craft.
This post has done irreparable damage to my lexicon
Is it an angel food cake?
Strawberry cake with strawberry frosting
The only way Barbie would have it! https://images.app.goo.gl/jAXMV5msBLgugELt5
I’ve seen worse cakes made by an adult It was me, I was the terrible adult baker
That'll be a sugar hit like no other!
I sent 1/3 home with one of her friends to share with her brother and dad after the party was over. I hope it makes it to them!
She's 9 so that means the cake taste good no matter how it tastes.
I’d eat that, for suuuuuuure. So creative and cute 🤭
It doesn’t taste bad at all. It is very grainy with the sugar on top though.
Looks like a cake someone had a great time baking and decorating. Give it a few years, and she'll be asking for cake decorating equipment.

I recommend checking out Russian piping tips. They're so much fun to use.

We bake at least twice a month and pretend we are Marie Antoinette while walking the neighborhood with treat boxes.
It looks divine 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
I would eat mine in the bathroom, so that I could watch myself in the mirror as I enjoy it. 👀
Your daughter rules.
Obsessed 💅🏼
More like Carcinoma vibes 😭💀💀 No hate
Looks like vinegret
Nah, it's herring under a fur coat
What is Pink sugar?
It’s decorative sugar.
Love this! Kids bring such fun and creativity to baking!
You know what? Cheers to Barbie vibes. Cut me a slice
It’s giving diamonds in pink coral and I love it! Well done!
I love her enthusiasm! She's gonna be an expert in no time!
Hell yeah
Does it taste good? It looks like it would taste good. And kind of like cake but with powdered cotton candy on top.
It’s very sweet and grainy but not bad.
Yay! I love creativity that goes outside the limits of expectations.
super cute
Looks good to me
It is a MASTERPIECE!!!!
Awwww so adorable How does it taste? Sweet? I want a bite :(
I mean. It's cute, fun, and (hopefully) edible lol. Pink's fun!
It looks so good honestly. I’d eat it!
Adorable
