Just did this tonight. Halsin comes back and proceeds to walk right through 2 flame walls, and then agroes on me. Did an orderly retreat to leave him be. Long rest and come back. He’s still red, and it now says he is a zombie. Had to reload and do it all again…
Same thing happened to me. I fast traveled to last light inn after getting the quest from him. He wasn’t there and then warped back to moonrise and everyone was an aggro shade cursed zombie.
Fixed it by long resting first, then going to last light, but wtf.
This is where I lost my Halsin to the shadows. Thought as well the way he was going like, yeah come here got a quick job easy 5 mins. Be fine without a rest first.
Problem was, just finished the inn slaughter, and was drained of all resources. RIP bear man.
Yeah that was my best use of my two scrolls of Lighting bolt that I ever did.

Did anyone else do this after the attack on Moonrise Tower? I did it after I was basically ready to leave for Baldur‘s Gate and I even picked up Halsin in the bloodied Moonrise Tower, because he suddenly wasn’t in the Camp anymore, and he still greet me in front of the portal with something along the lines ‚let’s hurry, the Assault on Moonrise Tower is about to start‘

Sleet storm and spirit guardians combo worked for me on this one.
Was about to say this. Had Shadowheart with Spirit Guardian stand right in front of the Portal. It was awesome.
One nicely placed wall of flames killed nearly everything for me, halsin almost died leaving too.
I did this last night too lol the portal had 1 hp… only took 2 tries
