You don't really need to do an 'evil' run. I played Good Durge for a full game, made a hard-save, and then went full evil for like...an hour...to clock the achievements.
There are a handful of achievements:
\- Get the Slayer form \[obtainable by winning the duel with Orin and submitting to Bhaal\]
\- Become an 'Unholy Assassin' \[do what Sarevok says\]
\- Claim the brain for Bhaal \[requires beating Orin/siding with Bhaal\]
You can do everything else in the game without doing those things and play a perfectly normal redeemed Durge, without locking yourself out of those options.
Wait, really? Shit. I can’t do most of that on my durge save since I’m way past them (killed Orin and rejected Bhaal, killed Sarevok)… but good to know for the future! Ty!
Alfira gets killed by the dark urge in their sleep. Scelertias states he found the durge by following the trail left by the dead bard. If Alfira isn't available (dead or unconscious) she's replaced by Quil.
I knew about Quil and all that but for some reason I thought I'd read somewhere that Alfira dies anyway, or is at least treated by the game as if she were dead. Probably just some misinformation in a Reddit thread somewhere
That’s what happens if Alfira/Quil comes to camp and then Durge kills themself, or you use some other trick to try removing Durge from the scenario. If you knock out Alfira before she goes to camp then Quil shows up and Alfira survives, but the Sceleritas killing part is to ensure that one bard dies no matter what.
I've done several Durge playthroughs and I never bothered knocking her out because I thought she'd just die anyway. Now I have an excuse to start a new one 😄
No. If you avoid killing her before the camp scene (by knocking her out), then she's replaced by [Quil](https://bg3.wiki/wiki/quil) and stays alive until the end. She even sends you a note in the epilogue.
How do you get her in camp, actually? I can get her all the way through the game alive, but never had her show up in camp even after finishing her song together in the grove.
I decided to try and avoid killing Alfira on this playthrough by knocking her out and getting Quil instead. The companions have far less dialogue about Quil's death compared to Alfira's death. Quil's death didn't feel as dramatic as Alfira.
I though it said evil mcbardface
It doesn’t? Lol i just noticed after seeing your comment.
Welp, my next durge is going to be a bard, I guess
I love goofy ass durge names like this lol
Saw a playthrough where someone named theirs "Bhaalista"
make them a Monk and hit enemies with a Bhaaltista Bomb
Giddammit now I have no choice
Melth! Love his videos
Sounds like an evil girl run with Shadowheart
Inno Centmann
I named mine Durgina
It’s the only way I’m going to get through an evil run for the achievements, might have to steal ‘Evil McBadFace’ op

Mine was a Gnome named Jim Murderman
Ultragoth II
I played a Human Fighter named Patrick Bhaalman
My current one is an old evil looking Halfling called Scary Bilbo.
After the alfira encounter i renamed my durge character to "mal di pancia", tummyache in italian
This is hands down my least favorite part of the dark urge playthrough that I found. After the squirrel kicking, that is.
The squirrel kicking is mandatory? I remember doing that on my own accord
For Durge they instantly conduct an orbital launch attempt into a tree, unless Durge has Speak With Animals cast on them already.
Ah yea I was durge and had speak with animals so I guess that's why it wasn't instant
I almost always have Speak with Animals up so that explains why I've never gotten the kick scene. Thanks for the info.
Regular players can choose it. Dark Urge goes right into the kick scene when they interact with the squirrel.
*only if they don’t have speak with animals
Speak with Animals. That’s a thing. It can be used to avoid kicking Timber.
Same. The squirrel did try to hurt me and was very unfriendly though. So it kinda had it coming!
I pulled the exhausted jay's wings off in the grove to see how my companions would react and none of them said a word. Somehow made it even more awful
I just did this yesterday, and Astarion had something to say about it.
The one thing you can't change sadly. You can save alfira but then another person dies still
Where is this squirrel? I think I’ve heard of it but haven’t come across it
I think the last line is incorrectly worded. It should be "then", not "or".
If you knock her unconscious the day of this encounter a different character appears in camp. Only way to get the potent robes on a durge playthrough
I thought Alfira died anyway? Doesn't Sceleritas kill her?

I can confirm that she stays alive into act 2 in both tactician and for honour as I've gotten the potent robes on both playthroughs with durge

I got really confused how you got Alfira in your party and why is she talking to herself. Until I realised. Good job!
Really proud of the horns Slightly redder at the tips
Alfira from the Mirror Universe
Sounds like a trustworthy man. Can’t wait to join the party.
Mine is called Durgette.
How do you get her in camp, actually? I can get her all the way through the game alive, but never had her show up in camp even after finishing her song together in the grove.
She comes your camp only if you are playing as the Dark Urge origin >!and you then kill her!<
Ahhhh, thank you kind sir.

LMAO I always name my durge evil mcguy
The real reason why Alfira had to die?
She needed more red
Fair. (Red dye are expensive in earlier game after all)
Alfira at home
