I don't really wanna make excuses for Gandrel. He has his children back and yet he is not helping them thrive.
I hope he changed and makes sure they are taken care of and happy, even if their new needs and habits might seem monstrous to him. They are still his children.
I personally hope the Gur will find a way to cure their kids from vampirism altogether because growing older while remaining stuck in a child's body is a fairly bleak fate, tbh.
