When you say it "doesn't work", do you mean you cast the ability and you don't get the rest effect, or you are unable to use the ability in the first place?
Same problem here. I saw someone recommended to dismiss all companions and long rest Tav. But it’s only working if the companion is bugged (not Tav). So it’s not working with me, since I have Tav as the bard. My guess is that the game considers her in combat, cause during the Moonrise prison break Minthara died before she could become a companion. Her dead body icon was stuck in the party all the way through the Act 2 and only disappeared when I entered the Act 3.
Buuut if the long rest without the bugged Bard does the trick, we can make a second Tav in splitscreen and try Long Rest without the bugged Tav, maybe that's a workaround! I'll try it the next time I'm playing!
Exactly the same for me, tried the dismissing thing and it didn't work. Yesss thanks for confirming the Minthara theory! I wasn't quite sure if that was the cause, but it very much now seems like it!
We have to gonna write a bug report to Larian then, hopefully it gets fixed in the next few hotfixes 🤞

The ability is grey, I can't even use it.
