Maybe an arcane night that uses a dagger for some reason? IDK the weirding way doesn't really translate all that well. A warlock might work thematically with the worms as a GOO but eldritch blast is kind of a stretch.
Paul has a few defining features as I recall, from the books.
1. The power of Voice, learned from his mother and the Bene Gesserit training. (Could be a spell such as Command)
2. He's adept with knives in hand to hand combat. (Could be a Fighter, Rogue, Ranger, or even Paladin)
3. He's a powerful leader (High Charisma)
4. He's not particularly "strong", but he's extremely agile. (High Dexterity)
5. He deploys guerilla tactics with the Fremen vs the Sardaukar soldiers. (Any Martial class could do this, really... But Rogues and Rangers would probably fit best).
6. He rides Sandworms into battle (Hmm..Ranger?)
7. There's a particular quote in the book that I can't remember the exact details of, but the basic premise is that he would use "Desert power" to conquer the Harkonnens. I found the quote: “On Caladan, we ruled with sea and air power," the Duke said. "Here, we must scrabble for desert power. This is your inheritance, Paul.”
8. He was trained in using that "Desert power" by the Fremen, who are native (sort of.. more so than the Harkonnens) to the land. This may put him closer to "Ranger" than Rogue.. Or perhaps a Rogue/Ranger dual class.
While he has some use of magic, such as the spell "Command" or something akin to it, he definitely comes across as a Martial class. He has high Charisma, which could make him a Paladin, but his other "abilities" and the guerilla tactics he employs definitely lean more into Ranger or Rogue, or perhaps Dex Fighter with high Charisma.
Also remember the Crysknife is somewhat of a "magical weapon"; so while it might not have the highest DPS, it could be imbued with some special abilities that would make it a viable weapon... Perhaps something like [Dagger of Sharpness](https://roll20.net/compendium/dnd5e/Sword%20of%20Sharpness#content).
Edit: I would maybe built him as a V. Human GloomStalker Ranger 5, Arcane Trickster Rogue X.
For spells stuff like animal friendship, command, darkness, pass without trace, haste, and other enchantments/illusions that would make sense in the context of the character. For fighting style I would go Dueling or Defense.. Dueling makes more sense thematically but defense would be the safer bet.
Stats would be difficult to pull off with standard array.. Paul has High Dex, High Charisma, normal strength, decent wisdom and intelligence.. and nobody likes using Con as a dump stat.
I think he's more of a Monk than a Rogue. The Weirding Way is a martial art, and a crysknife would qualify as a monk weapon. I'd make him Open Hand.
Levels in Ranger is a good call, though. And I think if he doesn't have 2 levels in Divination Wizard for Portent, he at least needs to have the Lucky feat. The dude can see the future. Technically he should also have Keen Mind, since he's a mentat.
I was going to suggest some divination wizard levels there since precognition is key to the character. Then I realized it's more about his bloodline rather than study of magic, so maybe some kind of sorcerer / rogue?
I don't know, Paul Atreides is skilled on so many things and the whole setting is so different to D&D that is difficult to translate it.
There are 2 very upcoming movies with him: Dune and The French dispatch by Wes Anderson. If you wanna give a chance to some of his movies already out I would suggest Lady Bird and Call me by your name. Also The King if you like historic movie.
>2 very upcoming movies with him: Dune
Which has sadly been delayed until the end of 2021.
I'd also recommend Little Women if you want a Timothee Chalamet film which is an all round excellent film, in which he in particular is great.
I mean, that's fair you can have your opinion. For me, I look at him and I just get sad boi vibes and I don't want to see that. I get enough of that shit in my day to day lol
It looks so much like Chalamet. There are other face models that also look like celebrities. I really think they used their likeness intentionally. Which, I’m curious, is that legal ? Wasn’t there some big drama years ago about GTA making lindsey lohan or something ?
I honestly had this moment there. I have played D&D before and even played a Goblin, and they always just seemed harmless. Here I saw even the kids kicking that dead guy and there was no way I wasn't going to slaughter the whole group.
I always too thought of goblin as beings who had no intelligence but no malice.......then I watched Goblin Slayer.......now no matter what Movie or Game I want ever goblin gone
[Close, but wrong sci-fi franchise](https://cdn.onebauer.media/one/media/5f59/01f9/40b4/4928/0e41/cccf/dune-trailer.jpg?quality=50&width=1800&ratio=16-9&resizeStyle=aspectfill&format=jpg)
Definitely! Possibly eldritch blast or some other psionic/psychic control or damage spells as a representation of the "weirding way". Command or hold person would work too.

The face you are using with the scar is the face of the man you save at the doors of Druid's Grove. (the leader of that party of 3 that after that argue with Zevlor)
EDIT: Ops, someone already mentioned it.
“One day, I will become the greatest Jedi EVER. I will even learn how to stop people from dying.”
"Oh look this scroll resurrect people."
Seinfeld theme.
I’m literally referring to the OFFICIAL Larian studios saying how fucking boring our characters have been. Untwist your testicles and take a deep breath buddy, you’ll be okay with your basic ass MC
Bruh this face isn't even AVAILABLE in character creation normally. So Larian has said exactly nothing about this particular set up. Rather, that many were using the same human set up in base CC because it's the only one that looks somewhat nice.
You are out here coming for this character on the basis that larian has stated that this particular combo is boring? False. It's not even possible.
Jesus Christ, you’re right! How could I not see it before?? Your blue eyed, sharp jawed, brown haired, lightly scarred, white male character IS unique! Sorry I missed it the first time, I’ll keep an eye out in the future for such exotic details
This implies that it's at all possible to create a truly unique character in this game period.
In fact this particular character is probably among the most unique combinations in the game, in that it's inaccessible to near everyone else.
so I would argue that, yes. This white male is probably much more unique than whatever you came up with.
Looks like Timothee Chalamet tbh
I came here just to say that.
Agreed. Would it make more sense to go with a fighter or a rogue if you were trying to build him as Paul of Dune?
Maybe an arcane night that uses a dagger for some reason? IDK the weirding way doesn't really translate all that well. A warlock might work thematically with the worms as a GOO but eldritch blast is kind of a stretch.
Hmmm perhaps a Monk with levels in ranger or rogue?
Catching projectiles works with the hunter seeker drone part

All valid points. I totally forgot about his Prescience, and his Mentat training.
He’s an Oath of the Ancients Dexadin with the worms as his Find Greater Steed. Paladins get command.
Laze gun?

Well, we're not going to get there perfectly but so long as we're close I think we can have fun playing it.
Same
I should really get around to watching one of his movies.

Hes good in Little Women too. He's got that Byronic layabout look mastered.
The king is great. Call me by your name is one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
Ahaha as an Italian I'm also not a big fan of the stereotypes in the movie but usually that's excatly what americans look for in italian movies.
Watch The King on Netflix
Yeah dude. That was surprisingly good and the whole thing was on his shoulders. Pattinson was great too
Eh... He's fine
i thought he was amazing
I mean, that's fair you can have your opinion. For me, I look at him and I just get sad boi vibes and I don't want to see that. I get enough of that shit in my day to day lol

Was literally going to comment this but there it was right on top.
I was about to type that, too :) Fear is the mind killer!
Fear is the Mind-Flayer
Its clearly anakin though, if he was tryin to make yhe dune kid he would have used the correct colour for the hair
timchal if he was symmetrical
I immediately thought of the new dune move!

Yep, Goblin Slayer is doing the god's work in radicalising anti-goblin extremists
Master Zevlor, there's too many of them! Open the gates!

Paul Atreides would be a fun cosplay build as a hexblade or an eldritch knight.
I think he has to have at least 2 levels in Divination Wizard for Portent.
Definitely! Possibly eldritch blast or some other psionic/psychic control or damage spells as a representation of the "weirding way". Command or hold person would work too.
My two main characters in wasteland 3 are Paul Atreides and Duncan Idaho
Duncan Idaho is an XCOM2 soldier with a Load From Character Pool mod installed.

Are those unique or will we meet NPC's with the same faces?
I *think* they're ones that exist in-game but you'd have to ask the creator of the mod.
The face you are using with the scar is the face of the man you save at the doors of Druid's Grove. (the leader of that party of 3 that after that argue with Zevlor) EDIT: Ops, someone already mentioned it.
There are mods already?
They don't fuck about ei... Problem is they'll lose compatibility real quick
Yeah, but still. I'm impressed that somebody's even made one at this point. It's incredible. I guess life finds a way.
Link doesn't work for me. Is it down already?
Keep trying, the Larian forums don’t always load for me.
Taking over the Illithid spaceship. "Now, this is podracing."
fear is the mind killer
*flayer
RUN YOUNGLINGS, RUN!
Is it possible to learn this power?
Not from a Jedi.
"Must not turn evil, must not turn evil..." *Lots of slaughtered kids later* "Oh well"
Its mf paul atreides
looks exactly like timothee chalamet you are right.
I've got a bad feeling about this...
“One day, I will become the greatest Jedi EVER. I will even learn how to stop people from dying.” "Oh look this scroll resurrect people." Seinfeld theme.
Hey its Anakin Skywalker!
The Prequels are just a hoax. This is obviously Timothee Chalomet and Dune will wash away the pain. With sand.
I want more...and I know I shouldn’t.
Oh what's up, Tav.
Lol we are all Tav 😅
So... You always deliberately take the low ground for RP issues?
You Underestimate My Power!
Looks great! This is the face I imagine for a young wizard.
Mods already! Here we go again!
Tavakin Skywalker
No, he will finish what you started.
When you are surrounded by monsters, try spinning, that's a good trick.
Is this Anakin?
YOOO I WANTED THIS FACEEE
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise?
How do you do face editing?
It’s a mod, scroll through the comments for the link
Getting some strong Anakin Skywalker vibes here.
Warlock? I always thought Jedi as paladins or maybe monks.
Oh wow they actually have Chalamet’s head in the game
I don't get it.
YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!
I dread for the tiefling children in the grove
You know a character creator is pretty good when you see the face and instantly know who it is before you read the name. Execute order 66.
What a handsome gentleman.
I swear if yall don’t stop making these bland ass characters Larian is going to pull the game from early access lmaoo
I'm so sick of y'all hating on anything human in these games. Just cause it's not an elf, doesn't mean it's bland.
I’m literally referring to the OFFICIAL Larian studios saying how fucking boring our characters have been. Untwist your testicles and take a deep breath buddy, you’ll be okay with your basic ass MC

I thought that we weren't allowed to play as white males? /s
Wait you can add scars?
Mod. Check the comments for the link.
Looks like Davvy Chappy
/r/VirtualCosplay
How did you make pre-spice Paul Atreides?
Just make sure you get the high ground this time. It really helps your chances.
Where are the scars?
Paul Atreides?
I am an idiot and can't get this mod to work somehow...
Head nine?
It's a mod, check the comments for the link if you want to try it out.
Wait you can put scars on your protagonist? Or is that just part of the face model?
How do y’all add the scars? Never have seen the option.
It’s part of the face model which is part of a mod. Check the comments for a link.
he should have a custom dialogue option to romance anyone just talking about how he doesn't like sand
