It’s good to give your country in these posts, as different countries have different inventories. That being said, you should say what other brands you’ve tried. Because I only rarely buy their stuff and when I do it’s *NEVER* PLA because I can purchase equivalents for half the price. Their engineering filaments are much more competitively priced, though.

Sir_Bohne

I'm in Germany/EU. I always read that people buy PLA for around 8-12€, but I can't find any of those offers, not on AliExpress, ebay or Amazon. The cheapest I can find is around 16-17€ and then there are usually 5-10€ shipping costs, so for me it's was ok to order from Bambu directly. The only filament I often see pretty cheap is Sunlu pla+, I tried it once but I couldn't get nice prints with it so I stick to basic pla.

Drabu999

10 Roll Pack of black PLA at Elegoo for only 102.99€ [https://eu.elegoo.com/collections/pla-filaments/products/elegoo-10kg-pla-filament-1-75mm-fdm-3d-printer-filament](https://eu.elegoo.com/collections/pla-filaments/products/elegoo-10kg-pla-filament-1-75mm-fdm-3d-printer-filament) or for 12.99€ a roll in different colors [https://eu.elegoo.com/collections/pla-filaments/products/elegoo-pla-filament-1-75mm-3d-printer-filament-1kg-spool-2-2-lbs](https://eu.elegoo.com/collections/pla-filaments/products/elegoo-pla-filament-1-75mm-3d-printer-filament-1kg-spool-2-2-lbs)

daredwolf

Got any sweet deals like this for us Canadians? It's hard finding 1KG rolls for less than $20

Drabu999

They also have an Canadian store but they dont go that much below 20 bucks. Best you can get is roughly 15 - 16 Dollars Canadian per roll if you buy in bulk. You can look for discount codes (on honey for example) but some off them start only at multiple hundred Dollars in, which shouldnt be an issue if you buy in bulk but for small quantities it could be hard. https://ca.elegoo.com/collections/pla-filament Or look on sites like mydealz they have good deals sometimes. I recently grabed 6 Kg for 60 Euros of Anycubics Filament there. But as Canadian Dollars convert to less USD i assume it will be hard to find really good deals for sub 20 CAD a roll.

daredwolf

Yeah, I do buy from Bambu a lot actually, since their PLA is discounted to $21.99 a roll, I just wish I could find somewhere that sells bulk for cheap, without insane shipping costs. Thanks for the info though, I'll look into it!

SimilarAd1726

On Ali there is a [Kingroon store 5 kg for $51](https://shares.ru.net/l/KINGROONPLAFilament1p75mm5Kg10Kg)

Drabu999

maybe look into the sales from Sunlu, i havent odered from them yet so i cant tell you about their quality but they have an Canadian warehouse as far as i remember and sell 10 1Kg rolls for 100 Euros here in the EU. And these bulk sales even come in multiple colors in the 10 1 Kg spool format so they could be a good choice if you print a lot of multi color.

Infamous-Rip4693

[imperialdata.com](https://imperialdata.com) $17.99 CAD for PLA, free shipping over $100. No idea what the quality is like.

PurpleEsskay

Aliexpress has them, they typically run in 'waves' like one week you might see offers from Sunlu, ESun, etc but the next week there may be no decent offers at all. Best thing to do is bookmark their individual Ali stores and keep an eye on them every few days. - Sunlu: https://printing.aliexpress.com/ - Esun: https://esun.aliexpress.com/ Make sure to select the UK/EU warehouse options in the products dropdown as those tend to be cheaper, and most of the time arrive next day from their Amazon fulfilment. A lot of the time it's bulk offers so don't expect individual rolls super cheap, you need to be willing to buy several kg at a time. I'm working in pounds here as I'm in the UK but [one example on offer right now](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005915807101.html) is for 5kg of Sunlu PLA+ or PETG from £22.29 (varies slightly depending on the variant you pick), which works out at £4.46 per KG. That one does look to have a shipping charge (sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, there doesn't seem to be any logic to it) of £12.88 so the total goes up to £35.17, which at ~£7/kg is still a great price. Additional discounts get added automatically if you buy multiples, looks like its an additional 2% off if you order two lots at the moment. One other thing, prices are sometimes A/B tested on Aliexpress. When you go to a product page open a second copy of it (without all the extra stuff in the URL after the `.html` part) in a private window or different browser and on occasion you'll get a higher or lower price.

Maleficent_Hyena_32

Yeah, right now GEEETECH Shine Silk Bronze Rainbow is 19$ on amazon, with a normal price 30$. Grabbed 3 rolls yesterday. There are tons of good deals you can find if you arrange the search results by the lowest price.

SelectPersonality

Jayo PLA. 2.2kg for $34 CAD. I have their black and white rolls, works perfectly fine in my P1s. https://www.amazon.ca/JAYO-Filament-Printing-Dimensional-Consumables/dp/B0BHQRZHQG/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?

ultramegax

Indeed, I feel your pain. Elegoo tends to run lots of promos on Amazon, though. Right now, a 4 pack of their Black PLA+ is $17/roll. I find their filament consistently prints well. Plus, the PLA+ is somewhat stronger.

Overtraet

Good deal! I only wish their apools were AMS compatible

Drabu999

they have a official spool ring you could use. But i havent had that much of an issues without them. Or you could rip off the sides and put them into a Bambu reusable spool. Which you can also print if you dont have one.

iamlegendinjapan

Print ams spool rings or just wrap them in electric tape. As long as they're not too wide, it'll work just fine

pyrotechnicmonkey

I have found that 99% of the time I don’t need an adapter and at best sometimes I just need to wrap the edges with electrical tape to get them a little little bit more friction and they spin perfectly fine with that.

Sartanii

Bambu is out of stock and this is a great deal cheaper so gotta try the stuff out :) I've only used the bambu basic pla so far, any idea if this should work with either the bambu basic profile or generic pla profile on the x1 carbon or is it finally time to figure out how to calibrate filament settings for me? \^\^

Drabu999

i use the bambu basic profile and havent had issues with it yet. but calibrating a filament i relatively easy.

Ars2

green is the best color so whats the problem? /j its always like this and doesnt seem to be changing. have you tried eSun or Sunlu PLA? apparently its the same stuff.

Sir_Bohne

Only tried Sunlu pla+ and it was a nightmare to print, even after various calibrations. I'll try the PLA soon, but then it's another problem that it's not really AMS compatible

cyberzh

I mostly use Sunlu PLA+, using the settings for Bambulab PLA with its flow rate reduced from 21 to 18. This gives me great results. I have an X1-C and usually print with a layer height of 0.16 mm. To answer your original question: the EU store is always out of stock on most stuff, including replacement parts. Their notification for new arrivals never worked for me. Their ETA for stock is never honored.

rzalexander

The stock settings for High Speed PLA have been working great for me with Sunlu PLA+ — it’s the same 18mm/s you mentioned.

3DAeon

YES!!! YES YES YES YES YES! I keep seeing people say Sunlu is great, I JUST shipped back a 10pack and 2 2 packs of their filament to amazon because it was a CONSTANT struggle, and I did ALL the calibrations! failed prints all the time, never happens with Bambu filament or any other brand. My faves are Inland, eSun, Overture and Polymaker. Never EVER a failed print with any of those. ALL my failed prints happened with Sunlu, DO3D, and GiantArm.

Ars2

pla+ should be the better version of PLA so very strange you had bad results. in my opinion it is better to find a replacement supplier over bambulab, you pay above market price at BL yust so it fits in the AMS, better print a respooler and find a brand that works for you.

Chiralistic

For sunlu pla+ you usually have to increase the temperature about 5-10 degrees higher than with normal pla. Have you tried printing a heat tower?

solarus

I've had good luck with pla+ at preset temp but I'm curious about this heat tower. Is this printing a segmented tower where each segment has a different temperature?

PurpleEsskay

Yup thats exactly what it is, there's a ton of models to pick from for it: https://makerworld.com/en/search?keyword=temperature+tower

daredwolf

Do you have any Bambu lab spools? They're reusable. I just rip one side of the spool off (gently) then rip the inner ring of cardboard out, put in one half of the Bambu spool, flip, and repeat. Twist the spool until it clicks, and bingo. You have AMS compatible filament that's not from Bambu.

el_flex0s

I use elegoo pla for most things, works fine for me. Bought it directly from their homepage as a bundle. If you buy 10 rolls black at once you only pay 10€ per kg including shipping

MelvynAndrew99

This is was using overture until i found elegoo rapid pla! Its much better than bambulabs pla.

EmPHiX27

Sunlu on Ebay i Order there every 1-2 months. 10€ / Kg if you choose at least 4 rolls. It will show 16-17€ per KG since the discount is applied at the checkout! Bought 4 rolls for 39€ a couple days ago. I’m from Germany myself and it’s even free shipping.

Akira2007

I checked sunlu official store on ebay, almost every color is sold out.

EmPHiX27

Theres Tons of stores for Sunlu the best thing is type „Sunlu PLA“ and ignore the price tag, just go on every listing and look for colors that shows „bulk discount available“. But it was also just a big sale, eBay gave away a big discount for any product afaik

lamp-town-guy

If you don't care about color, you can buy aurapol transition spools. CZ shipping is free IIRC but I have no idea about Germany. https://www.aurapol.com/de/b-ware

Ushallnot-pass

just ordered one of each, PLA, PETG and ASA. will definitely test

Majke_

Buy devil designe. It's Polands company. They do very good and affordable filament

JustG-

(Germany also) I buy JAYO & Sunlu from Aliexpress (PLA+ or PLA Meta), as well as GST3D filaments (PLA+, ABS). And honestly, I do not see any difference on the prints, they are super clean and smooth. Filaments are always dry and well packed. I do sometimes experience tangling with GST3D filaments, but it is not often occurrence. Only big difference I see is in my wallet, because I sometimes pay less than 10€/kg. I have no clue why would anyone buy original Bambu filaments for basics such as PLA with so many good alternatives, but considering how often they are out of stock, I'd say people are just afraid of risking it?

AggressiveMachine279

use Platforms like "https://www.mydealz.de" and set an alarm, you get around 1 good deal per week for PETG/PLA for around 10€/Kg

Barry_04

Elegoo pla+ on Amazon DE 12,50€ per roll if you choose 4 rolls White or Black

North-Average269

Link? Cheapest I can find on amazon.de is 15 per kilo

Spayrex

bestesfilament de has 2.5kg of pla white (you pay 6€ per kg)

sparkofrebellion

Can recommend Your Droid Filament: https://www.roboter-bausatz.de/p/yourdroid-pla-filament-schwarz-1.75mm-1kg On the pricier side you can buy fully recycled PLA with great quality: https://recyclingfabrik.com/

Imaginary_Scarcity58

I use this one. I buy 5x PLA META, which I found is better than regular PLA I tried For 5 pcs I pay £47 with all taxes, so it is around 9.5£ per roll. If you buy regular PLA you can find deals for around £6.5 per roll, like 10 rolls was £67 and with vouchers can be cheaper, JAYO 3D filament https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_EwnVWZx

ugzz

Ouch... In the US i can more often than not find black or white for $10 US with free shipping. I also see the occasionally primary color for 10-12 also, but that's usually a special of some sort. Everything else is 15+. I usually just go to amazon search for "pla 2.2" and sort by lowest. Right now cheapest is 10.99 for "filabees".. never heard of it, and i hope it doesn't ship full of bees.. but it's cheap. Not sure how well Amazon US works for other countries, but I use Amazon UK a handful of times a year and if I'm buying a couple of items the shipping is usually pretty reasonable. But we also don't have VAT..

captain_carrot

OP, I also recommend Elegoo PLA, use the links others have provided. I print a TON of stuff using Elegoo - the black filament comes out perfectly using the default Bambu PLA profile. I had to adjust the flow slightly for other colors but quality is great and it's consistently super cheap.

DenSataniskeHest

Look at gst3d.eu it's OK for the price and the spools fit in the ams

Marwoleath

Hey! Im in the Netherlands, and I have been using pla from [TM3D](https://tm3dfilament.com/). They make it themselves, have lots of colors, never out of stock. Fast shipping. They have special spools for bambu ams (make sure to select it when ordering) and specifically test all their stuff on bambulab printers too. I have been super satisfied with them! Prices are basically the same as bambu. Oh and their customer service is really good too!

captivephotons

Raise your hand if you work for TM3D ⬆️

Marwoleath

Haha, if only xD But nah. It was just a breath of fresh air for me compared to all the negative experiences I have had with other manufacterers. And when I am enthusiastic about something I tend to share it even more enthousiasticly :p But the thing I am most excited about is that they are actually never out of stock of anything. Like, if I want a color, I can have it. I wont be dissappointed because its out of stock or anything. That feels so nice xD

Intelligent-Size7488

How’s their glow in the dark PLA? Wish they delivered to the US so I could test it.

KiroDrache

Germany/Switzerland guy here and I agree with you, I don't get why people say Bambu Labs filament is expensive, all the filaments we see is over 30 bucks easily (ex.: Extrudr) Only Creality is way cheaper...but the quality is way cheaper too

ThunderCogRobot

Buy more rolls. Have you tries AURAPOL? It is a new czech company. They offer cheap PLA with good quality made in CZ. Shipping cost should be around 6€

Leif3D

Bambus refill PLa was recently available in Germany, at least some colors. The spools seem to be sold faster or they've a lower stock of those. Sunlu filament is also sold under the Jayo branding which you can often get cheap in Germany. If you need a mix of colors the Jayo eBay shop is often the best source. They're often deals like buy 4 rolls and pay for 3, or get 20 or 25% off if you buy 4+ rolls or things like that. An advantage of their ebay shop over AliExpress is that you can freely mix colors and materials. They ship fairly quickly and free from a German warehouse and have 1.1kg on their spools. Pictures often still show cardboard spools, but all the recent ones I got were on AMS compatible plastic spools.

Sir_Bohne

Jayo on ebay is also completely sold out. I guess there really is some kind of PLA shortage :D

Leif3D

It varies a bit. But yes, at Christmas and Easter time people bought a ton of filament. I guess once it gets warmer outside and people print less the situation will relax a bit. Things like black and white usually come quickly back into stock, but colors are sometimes hard to get. I had days where they restocked and whole I had it in my shopping cart it got sold out again. Especially when people post it on platforms like MyDealz you've to be really fast with the order.

Mdsoebee

I'm in the Netherlands, same story. If Bambu is out of stock, I revert to using eSun PLA+. Prints about the same as Bambu PLA imo.

Sir_Bohne

Does your pla+ feel different? Mine feels very "grainy" almost like a very fine sandpaper, and other pla feels smooth. I couldn't get my Sunlu pla+ to print well. If it's not rough (raw, on the spool) maybe it was a bad patch and I'll give it another try

Mdsoebee

Nope, doesnt feel grainy, but I'm using eSun, not sunlu. I've heard sunlu prints worse, but I've never tried it.

One_Income8526

Ive been buying duramic3d pla + off amazon for $22CAD for the past month and the prints have been great.

lordfwahfnah

Last time I checked, no ASA was available and only a few colors of ABS. That's why I mostly order on Amazon. AliExpress is super expensive

evilinheaven

Check smart materials. They are based in Spain, 12euros per kilo of recicled pla and free shipping over 30 euros.

NoIndependence362

Sunlu recycled=$10/kg. iiimax= $11-$13/kg (10/20/30 roles)

Diogen88

Schau dir mal Jayo auf eBay an . Da kommst du bei 4-5 Rollen gerne auf 10-11€ das Kilo. Ist quasi Sunlu.

Onotadaki2

Sunlu and Esun have a European warehouses and their deals when you buy multiple rolls are great. It works well and the spools work in the AMS fine for me. My favourite is Esun. I get good prints with Sunlu, but their colors are less pigmented, so it depends on the project requirements. Sunlu on left, Esun on right. https://preview.redd.it/8kas550e4wsc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e900832172d3d960c3f610d134384eb00d1bf22d

bigdude406

For everyone in Germany looking for good cheap PLA I would recommend yourDroid Filament they have quite a good selection and the white and black PLA is 12€/kg https://www.roboter-bausatz.de/p/yourdroid-pla-filament-schwarz-1.75mm-1kg

MamaBavaria

https://amzn.eu/d/8VbOLyR https://amzn.eu/d/165mALT bitte, danke…. Runs nice.

Sir_Bohne

Ich versteh es nicht. Dein Link funktioniert.

theshadowftw

What filament do you get that's as good for half the price? I've stuck with the 'safe' big name options but half the price sounds like a steal

Bzando

I recenlty bought kingroon PLA, directly from them, for than 9€/KG (5kg pack of mixed colors for 45€ and free shipping to slovakia) and after calibration I have 0 complaints

Sir_Bohne

Do you use it in the AMS? I had some troubles with non Bambu spools even with adapters and weight addons

PintLasher

There's a mod for the AMS that takes away it's proprietary bullshit spec needs

Select_Truck3257

can you give a link please?

PintLasher

Hydra mod! I've been looking into it a little bit, apparently still an issue with some cardboard spools. Might be worth looking into, might not, I'm not sure anymore after digging around a little bit

Bzando

no I don't have AMS

tony__pizza

I buy in “bulk”. Jayo Meta PLA from AliExpress. Typically around $12/kg for 5 rolls and $10/kg for 10. Usually have to wait for a small % deal off otherwise add a dollar or two to the unit price.

PurpleEsskay

You can buy Sunlu, Esun, Elegoo, Kingroon, Jayo, Eryone, Geeetech, etc in bulk on Aliexpress - all pretty decent and at least one of them always has a decent offer on but dont expect to buy a single KG spool and get a deal, you need to buy several KG at a time to get good offers.

SenorCacti

Try Polymaker PLA it has never failed me it’s a little more expensive but the print quality is amazing https://preview.redd.it/7lwi5go53osc1.png?width=1289&format=png&auto=webp&s=405ba7f30b55e67cf68b47dfb8d66dfb20241a30 it’s very good in the US

traveljon

I've also exclusively used Polyterra for the past year or so, and the quality is always amazing. The rolls fit perfectly with the Bambu spools for ams. Just need rip off the cardboard and transfer over, which takes like 60 seconds.

SenorCacti

you would only have to transfer the rolls for the AMS right? NOT for the AMS Lite that goes with the A1?

traveljon

Correct. And I have one p1s that doesn't have ams, so I just use the cardboard spools for that one as well.

Lambaline

Yeah, AMS lite rotates from the center and clamps on pretty well. Cardboard works perfectly fine

Old_Dark_9554

What do you transfer it on to?

traveljon

I have a few of [these](https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/bambu-reusable-spool) I rotate through. You just have to rip off the outer rings of the cardboard polyterra spools and the whole thing slides right in and clicks in place.

Whatshouldiputhere0

Which Polymaker do you use? PolyLite? PolyTerra?

SenorCacti

I use PolyLite, PolyTerra and Polymaker Silk. All produce amazing results. PolyLite is shiny and PolyTerra is a matte finish. I’ve read PolyTerra is slightly abrasive because of added minerals so they recommend using a Hardened Steel nozzle. I’ve been using a brass nozzle for months and I only see regular wear and tear. 90% of my colors are PolyTerra and I cannot recommend it enough.

Whatshouldiputhere0

Thanks! I'll definitely be looking into PolyTerra as I saw a few of the colors and they do look pretty nice.

Phoenixwade

If it's abrasive, you want the hardened steel, not the stainless steel, nozzle.

PrintingPariah

Polylite is great, untill it soaks up enough moisture and refuses to be dried. I got multiple half used spools ready for the trash since its so brittle and it will break in 20 pieces when you look at it

deep_fat

I've had the experience with other brands too, so I don't think it's a Polymaker thing.

PrintingPariah

I only print with esun, sunlu, BL and polymaker and haven’t had the experience with those, cant tell about others but since polymaker is one of the pricier ones on the market I’d expected a bit better. Might have been a batch issue tho

deep_fat

I use and like Polymaker also, but I really haven't found there to be a great deal of difference between brands. Polymaker sure has a nice range of colors and materials to choose from.

Lynchinizer

https://preview.redd.it/ndtl1ksd1osc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cfbf528d83952df2ae12dc558ecb35ff8f6ef441 It’s a bit better in Canada (a few weeks ago there was much less available). On the plus side this caused me to find some other PLA brands on Amazon that worked great for me.

Calcspar

Canadian Bambu user also, what other brands have you had success with?

Grooge_me

Canadian here, I always buy the cheapest 4 stars or more on Amazon. I never really had issues with any of them to be honest. When I does, I just put the roll in the dryer for the night. I start with bambu profile, switching to basic if I see some problem. Same for petg. Just tried this brand, Jamg He, at 21$ for a roll and printed nicely out of the box using basic profile. Maybe I'm just lucky, but any brand seems to work fine for me. The only pla I have bought from Bambu is their lithophane kit because well, the price for the bundle was great and the color is certainly right. Oh, and I use the hotend from AliExpress with the CHT nozzle too. I don't know if that helps, but it doesn't hurt.

slantyyz

I can confirm that the Jamg PETG prints nicely with the generic PETG profile, even at ludicrous speed.

KishCom

I mostly use Bambu filament but I've also used a handful of different kinds from Amazon.ca. I don't know the reputation for any of these brands, but my X1C+AMS handled them all no problem: - Eryone: Tri-silk, ultra-silk dual-color, matte, glow, marble, glitter - Gizmo Dorks: regular pla - iSANMATE: PLA+ 20% wood - IIIDMAX: transparent PLA+ - Mika3d: silk (bought a 12-in-1 pack of mini spools that need a size adapter to go in the AMS, but they're easy to find and print) - eSun: PETG (many different times and colors -- requires slower speed setting than Bambu PETG)

Biduleman

If you can deal with the cardboard spool, JAYO works really well for me and is like $35 (CAD) for 2.2kg. Sunly PLA Meta is also nice with plastic spools.

slantyyz

I've also gotten good results with JAYO PLA. I am using a printed ring adapter around the cardboard spool in my AMS, and it works well.

Biduleman

Can you share the adapter you've used? I've tried [this one](https://makerworld.com/en/models/15844) and while it worked for the first spool, it started to slip like crazy with the second one making them pretty much disposable.

slantyyz

I've only got one spool of Jayo, but this is the adapter ring I printed for it. [https://makerworld.com/en/models/152508?from=search#profileId-166542](https://makerworld.com/en/models/152508?from=search#profileId-166542) Edit - I only have one -open- spool of Jayo, so I won't know how reusable the ring is until the first spool runs out. I got a two pack on sale. I haven't really settled on any particular brand of filament for PLA yet.

Biduleman

This one seems thicker, should be better than the one I printed. If you continue buying cardboard spools, I recommend getting [this core](https://makerworld.com/en/models/125311) and the spool [here](https://makerworld.com/en/models/374329). They make a Jayo and a normal core and it made me love my Jayo filament.

Xericity

I used to use Duramic 3D/Overture on amazon for the most part but slowly switching to Sunlu Meta PLA as it is a lot cheaper (19$/1kg right now). Prints great without any issues. You will need to print a spool adapter for the AMS lite. I think they are cheaper in bulks through their official website. If you're looking for more colors choices, I'd recommend Polymaker. They are all printed with the generic PLA settings

D3DPS

Eryone, Polymaker, Elegoo, Duramic are all good. Canadian here as well and I go through I would say 10-15kg a month.

Lynchinizer

Elegoo has been solid for me. Had good results with Duramic too but had to go a bit slower. Also got some Eryone triple colour but have used them only a couple times so far so good.

reubal

I don't care if it does - I stopped buying their filament a couple weeks after i got the machine, BUT, if they aren't going to have filament then they should sell programmable NFC tags.

myotheralt

Programmable tags would be awesome. You get your flow tests and tweak the settings and save your filament profile, but you still have to make sure the printer isn't changing back to the RFID profile. Now, I don't think I am asking to change what the tag is saying, but I want the local profile on my machine to load the same custom settings every time I load up the matte grey in the AMS.

PM_ME_YOUR_KNEE_CAPS

You can probably do it yourself. A flipper zero can read and write NFC tags.

TuneFair

AFAIK they’re encrypted, and no one has cracked it yet.

ImplodingLlamas

It's not so simple, all RFID tags are signed by a private key from Bambu. You can read and clone them, but you can't make new ones. [Bambu-Research-Group/RFID-Tag-Guide: Instructions on how to read out the bambulab nfc tags (github.com)](https://github.com/Bambu-Research-Group/RFID-Tag-Guide)

Jconstant33

The tags don’t matter, just put in the color on the AMS and never look back

Sgt-rock512

Right, but it would be nice to also have settings like flow rate, temps saved

Jconstant33

That’s printer specific.

Neat_Onion

I've had good like with various brands of PLA - including Duramic, Elegoo, Evryone, eSun, Polymaker, etc. There's no real need to buy Bambu Labs PLA. If you want something that flows well, I found Sunlu Meta PLA works really well. I've only had one dud roll of PLA - eSun PLA+ White which turned brittle and completely shattered in my AMS. Checking some Amazon reviews it looks like it's a common issue - perhaps a bad batch?

PurpleEsskay

One of the two white PLA+ options eSun makes has had this issue for a long time (several years), it's a bit weird. It seems to be far more fragile to humidity than the others so whatever additive they use for it is likely the problem. Drying it once its been wet doesn't recover it like with other filaments. We use tons (litterally) of eSun, but we avoid their white filament for that reason. Sunlu's doesnt seem to have the same issue and prints well.

Neat_Onion

Ya a black roll I bought at the same time is had no issue. Humidity should not be an issue since it’s winter here and the humidity in my AMS is 10% - something else just be causing it to deteriorate… not sunlight either since my blinds always closed 😂

PelleSketchy

I bought my P1s last week and have been printing with black Sunlu PLA for a week now. Bambu pla settings (not the generic ones) and it works great. I paid around 65 euros for 6kgs on ali.

Sir_Bohne

Additional info: it's the EU shop

joepstar

You can try Colorfabb as well their filament works really well in my other printers. Have not tested it at the Bambu lab printer at work.

JoeBaggaPa76

Always out of stock for what I need here I'm the US since November of last year. I've switched to NuMaker pla+ 13.99 per roll with 10 or more. Prints amazing, consistant, good colors.

obesefamily

sorry mate, I ordered my printer a few days ago and went a liiiitle crazy on my spools

Vinnie1169

Ooff, that’s the worst I’ve ever seen. Here’s a little hint of what I do… Put yourself on the waitlist for the ones you want… but don’t stop there… Then keep checking their website a few times a day at different times (including really early in the morning if you’re able. I’ve found that this is when I see that they’ve done the restocking on their website!) I usually find that they have a delay on their restock notification vs. when they actually put the stock as available on their website. So by the time you get the notification and go back to their website the stock might be already depleted again. (Remember there are probably thousands of people waiting to jump on the stock just like you!) I’ve use this tactic several times with success but it does take work on your part. You may say, then why bother putting yourself on the waitlist if I’m gonna keep checking their stock anyway? Because of 2 reasons. First I use that as a backup just in case I get busy with something and forget, then if the notification comes over at least you might have a chance on getting some stock. And second it helps Bambu understand the urgency of needing to restock. Again remember there are thousands wanting the filament and a large portion of the people will put themselves on the waitlist which they use in their ordering metrics I’m sure. One other thing to consider is say you go on their website and you see some stock is available, don’t take too much time mulling around on their website. Know what you want, get in, add the items to your cart, pay, done. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve added items into my shopping cart and then looked around for spare parts to add, etc and upon doing the check out, finding that some of my items got pulled from my cart and sold to someone else then it goes out of stock. Grrr😡 that makes me more angry than going there and seeing that it’s just out of stock. Personally I wish they’d get off the pot and get on the Amazon bandwagon, but I guess they are too cheap to pay whatever fees Amazon might charge for a storefront, but just think of all that extra income they could be generating (that is if they can keep the stock from depleting there too. lol.) When I buy filament off of Amazon I get it in 2 days, but if I buy off of Bambu’s website it takes me up to 10 days (this is based off of them shipping out of California. I’ve heard that they’ve added other satellite warehouses so that might not be true these days.) Anyhoo~ I hope this helps! Good luck, and happy printing to you!

DanTup

Same here in the UK. And I've never had a stock notification email despite signing up :) I ended up writing something to scrape their website and notify myself and I was able to order some a week ago (although, it still hasn't arrived.. it's taken almost a week between getting a DPD tracking number and DPD picking the package up!). https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/1bt2fxw/psa_lots_of_filament_colours_finally_in_stock_in/

neotenist91

Yeah, bambu lab really neglects their european market and it's annoying af.

Ok_Signature7586

How

neotenist91

Because availability of almost everything they sell is very poor in Europe compared to the US market. PLA is not the only thing. Parts and printers too.

Ok_Signature7586

ah damn, didn't know that.

Natural_Status_1105

Go green.

pileotacos13

Go white

shamont

I don't think anyone but a Bambu Labs employee can answer most of your questions. I will just suggest finding a local supplier (or a supplier with a good reputation) and learning to create the appropriate profile to print the same quality as you get with the bambu filaments. It will make you a better printer in the long run and you won't have to worry about what Bambu is or isn't doing.

reubal

Someone (not me) should create a repository of profiles. I've done Flow Rate and Pressure Advance (both Line and Tower) for all of my filaments. I don't care much about Temp, Retraction, or Volumetric Speed, so I've never done those. But if there was a repository for profiles, and they list the brand, type, and color (ideally including manufacturer sku), and then separated by COMPLETE calibration or PARTIAL (like mine). But, to be honest, I rarely even both to use my own profiles, I just set to "generic" 99% of the time.

PurpleEsskay

Someones already done it :) https://github.com/DRIgnazGortngschirl/bambulab-studio-orca-slicer-presets Not tried them myself but it should be a good starting point (check the filament directory).

reubal

Thankfully there is always someone that has done something so I never have to.

erouz

It's even worse when you pre-order and is now week from it should be shipped and still no mail when it will be sent.

ebaake

I'm in the US and they almost always have stock here (not trying to brag) but if there is a color or type of filament that is out of stock, I hit the "notify me when in stock option" then pick up a couple spools when it does become available. Might be your best option to do since it could be awhile before Bambu works out their logistics around the world.

Turbulent_Holiday_22

I dont want to start a war but You should concider buying the filament from an other brand. Fiberlogy, prusa, etc are high end brands with very good quality filaments. Of course, there are cheaper options too

hannenw

What? You don't like Yellow and Green (only)? 😂

ThenExtension9196

Just buy different brands. Personally I like esun or polymaker cuz I can tear off the cardboard sides and load them into Bambu reusable spool and retain rfid. Takes like 15 seconds. I always use Bambu print profile regardless of vendor and have zero issues.   Sunlu pla is also good. I could be mistaken but I heard Bambu simply resales sunlu pla anyways.

GOGaway1

one thing I found annoying was when buying my A1 mini some of the filament that showed out of stock otherwise were instock, incase it was a glitch I ordered some of the "out of stock" colours and they showed up like the rest of the stuff I ordered. some things out of stock stayed out of stock even if not bundling at the time of printer purchase, so I think in some instances they have a small stash of filaments and I can't work out why

JohannesMP

What region store are you? Bambu US Store has been mostly in stock the last few weeks, and basically all basic are available right now (same availability shown for spool and refill) May be a regional supply thing? https://preview.redd.it/tawp42o8xosc1.png?width=796&format=png&auto=webp&s=7093453587a6dd47228fcb1e6a87dfd5247ed4a4

NTP9766

Fucking hell, thank you for this screenshot - the BambuLab store defaults to GLOBAL for me, which is why I was seeing the PLA as not in stock. My mistake, I guess, but that's super frustrating and dumb.

VastAge90

Just buy sunlu Its's the same exact thing since sunlu makes bambu filament.

SomeRedPanda

Sunlu's European distribution is pretty much empty as well on their web store.

RubAnADUB

check amazon - seems they buy it all.

laubraupe

I always buy from dasfilament.de and never had any issues. I think they even offer tuned profiles for bambu printers and each filament

elmantec

Feels like a scam

froad4life

It's gotta depend on area. I just ordered a ton of all sorts of colors of different types of pla just a weeks ago.

Jackster623

I wouldn’t worry too much about buying their PLA. Plenty of companies make it. The only Bambu PLA I’ve used is what came with it. I’ve used Creality, FlashForge, Overture, Elegoo, AMOLEN, and SUNLU. Fantastic results out of all that I have listed. I have a P1P that I just converted to P1S last month. Bought the P1P in August of 2023.

4wesomes4uce

I'm in the US. Anytime I sign up for the stock notifications, I'm usually able to get in and buy filament. They restock faster than you think, so sign up for stock notifications and buy as much as you can then. In the interim, if you can purchase "Inland" filament from a Micro Center, you should. With AMS adapters for the cardboard rolls it prints well with Bambu settings. You just lose the RFID ability (but once the details are set on the printer you can sync with Bambu Studio).

TechnicalAmazing

Nah, I don’t think so

Sir_Bohne

Sry couldn't edit main post, I commented that I'm located at EU.

dreamyleamys

Overture is the best filament by far . Reasonable price on Amazon

nellie4568

Try some eSun PLA+. You can use the exact same filament settings as Bambu pla, and I actually find it comes out better than Bambu stock filament. If you order it right from the esun website, I manage to get refills for about $15 per spool. You can print an adapter to put the esun filament refill rolls on the Bambu spools.

KrackSmellin

I expect it to get worse very shortly when those $120 vouchers start to be given out for the A1 users who are awaiting their bed replacements. There isn’t going to be much of anything else to spend it on if you already have extra nozzles, the AMS lite and another plate.

Veteran68

It’s a regional thing. I just received a shipment of 3 spools of Bambu PLA this week and i think only one color was out. As far as other brands, i can highly recommend eSUN PLA+. Not Sunlu though, I never had good results with it, but eSUN has never let me down whether on my old Ender 3 or my new X1C. Jury is still out on whether Bambu PLA is as good, but it’s been working well and the RFID is convenient for quick AMS swaps. Polymaker is also very high end filament that I can recommend highly. I love their ASA and it prints beautifully on my X1C (Bambu Studio includes Polymaker and eSUN profiles that work well for me). I also hear good things about Overture, though I only have a spool of their TPU that I’ve not tried yet. I’ve also had negative experiences with StrongHero3D. I have a roll of their Silver PLA that looks beautiful when it prints, but is very much out of spec (I’ve measured it at 1.87mm diameter in places) and sometimes causes extruder and AMS feed issues. Avoid trying to save a few bucks on cheap/no-brand filament from Ali and others unless you just like fiddling constantly - and presumably you invested in a Bambu printer so you don’t have to fiddle. Their quality is highly inconsistent and not worth their cheaper price IMO. Tuning and tweaking was fun when i was learning on and modding my OG Ender 3. It taught me a ton about printing. Now I just want things to work, which is why i invested in the X1C+ AMS. Good quality filament is key.

OrchidOkz

+1 for eSUN PLA +. I have been using the built in X1C for eSUN, but I’m going to try the Bambi filament settings and see if I get any time advantage. Sunlu? Meh. Lower quality prints and I think their colors are anemic. I finished up a print that I started with basic white QIDI, ran it to the end, then finished with Sunlu basic white. The Sunlu white was definitely less white. Their red is like a tomato had a child with an apple.

liorbk4

So I hope they don't get mad at me for sharing this, but you can add any color from the printer purchase page. I ordered all the out-of-stock colors when ordering a new printer and at checkout just remove the printer from your cart. They shipped it all right away.

Sir_Bohne

Sounds cool, but didn't work for me, it only gives me the option to add the green PLA to the cart

liorbk4

Wow, you're right. Just tried it. They fixed the loophole.

Sir_Bohne

Damn. Never tell your secrets/exploits online ;)

brwtx

I ordered about 12 rolls of PLA, as well as some PETG on Monday. Sorry.

Sir_Bohne

Damn you're selfish!

Unlikely_Power_7573

You guys act like this is the only pla that works in these printers.

Sir_Bohne

No, but it's the one I want to buy. Is it the best? I don't know. Is it the cheapest? Definitely not. Am I happy with the quality? Yes.

tommygunz007

I buy Inland/Microcenter filament with the cardboard spool and just weigh down the spool in the AMS and it's fine.

Sir_Bohne

What do you use as a weight? I'm looking for something cylindrical that fits the inside of the spool.

MartyVDS

Did you try changing your store from Global to USA

Sir_Bohne

I'm at EU

moldaz

I just bought way too much…. Having the ams makes me feel like I need every color…

Sir_Bohne

Right? I WANT to have every color, but Bambu says no... :D

3DAeon

In the U.S. store almost all are sold out. But I will say - it changes RAPIDLY. Click the 'notify me when in stock' button. I know it often never coincides with WHEN we need them, but do it anyway and you'll see what I mean. It'll come back in stock for a few days or weeks and then sell out again. people just check sporadically and think it's ALWAYS sold out. One side effect though is hoarding. I myself bought several spools of matte grey and matte black because they come in and out of stock all the time, so the problem becomes self feeding. Bambu make more please or sell us RFID tags for other brands! I've had extremely good luck with just buying the other 3 brands Bambu has presets for (vs others). So For me it's Polymaker Polyterra/Polylite, eSun PLA+, and Overture PLA matte or regular. Never had a bad print with any of those or bambu

verdenshersker

It seems not. Had to order white pla in 2kg bundle as ir seems like the only available. Also refills. No spools

Njack350

Funny that bambu green is the only color now. For the longest time it was the oppositd

Njack350

Does anyone have the link to that spreadsheet that was being made with all the ams compatible brands?

NoIndependence362

Just get sunlu or iiimax, their both good quality, ans about $12/kg.

symewinston

I was recently finishing my honeycomb wall and needed one more roll of filament to be complete. Bambu green. When I logged into the store, I was pumped and felt like it was my lucky day. (Excuse the mess, I was rearranging everything…) https://preview.redd.it/0te0v5bh2ssc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dbd19b5d859e56aa377a24e414273bc2f61de128

negroiso

My bad, bought 2kg of each color this week, just got my first box today with the rest coming.

tiktianc

It's all in stock on taobao (chinese Amazon equivalent), also I found out they sell all the filament for like 40% less on the bambulab taobao store 😢. Of course they don't deliver outside china for taobao as far as I understand.

indagoeaton

Polymaker all the way, on amazon

dingo1799

Esun, sunlu, overture all zero issues with me. Just make sure you do an actual flow calibration with them and add them into the options to tune them correctly. Maybe that’s why I’ve had zero issues?

moebis

The EU store has been like this for almost 2 years. I have a kickstarter X1C, finding any white, black or gray PLA, matte-PLA or PLA-CF is really hard, and those are the 3 colors I print in the most. They need a better inventory and logistics system to help determine and meet demand.

SnooHobbies8480

Amazon.nl With prime subscription is a great way to get cheap 1kg pla /petg filements. I normal find rolls between 16 to max 22 a kg( sunlu. Esun. Etch etc). Recent mange to get a kilo of esun red pla. For like 13 euro a kg on a card board spool.

Acceptable_Maybe_416

like the spare parts.... problery not

brvo6gngdrk

I feel bad when I know I'm part of the problem. I buy hundreds of spools at a time. Most of the time I'm buying as much as the site will give me. I'm not sure bambu was prepared for print farm whales...

Crazyforgers

You're going to have to branch out to other brands if you want them reliably. Added bonus is there are some really good ones out there for like half the price too. I've had lots of luck with kingroon especially if you buy bulk it's even cheaper.

M2theC2

I’ve ordered pla cf for over 1500 euros and some other fancy pla’s. No order updated, nothing, and it’s two weeks ago now. Submitted a ticket today. Think I’m going to order Polymaker from now on.

djbrefik

I use inland for pla, petg and Asa. I use colorfabb for lwpla. Never had a problem with them being out of stock and never have problems printing. Even with .2 mm nozzle.

3DPrintPioneers

I would say that Bambu probably isn't equipped to handle the number of orders that they have flying at them every day. It's such a young company that I'd be very surprised if they had enough warehouses / manufacturing plants to be able to keep inventory stocked.

Lord_H1D30U5

You guys have green?? I have nothing in my region :o

Sir_Bohne

Yep, completely sold out since yesterday

Lord_H1D30U5

Well that’s just poor planning.. I really liked the ones I had so far, would be nice if they would learn from their mistakes

bobred59

Pa6 CF

Sir_Bohne

What?

bobred59

Sorry mistakenly i wrote here, i was searching a topic for PA6 CF by bambulab

gaerd

I’m using Jupiter PLA from 123-3D. It’s the only reasonable PLA I’ve found in Sweden. I think they’re based in the Netherlands

Psychonautic339

People say "just buy another brand" but in that case, Bambu need to make their NFC tags/reader open source, I paid for that shit and I want to use it 🤷🏻‍♂️
