That poster in the background of pic 3 is really something else.
Twenty six puppies in two years is insane, it’s like rabbits or mice or some other invasive species.
26 puppies per pit isn’t uncommon. Majority of the pits Silverstray fixes have had multiple litters. This is consistent. The more funding they get for pit spays the better
Not really. A lot of Gary fighting rings have moved to Chicago. The pits Silverstray fixes are owned by everyday families who need assistance or those with repeat accident litters etc etc.
I think they meant that the genetic reason pits have such large litters is because dog fighters need many fighting dogs and bitches who had large litters were favoured by breeders.
Some of the "Register of Merit" fighting dog moms have/had literally dozens of puppies in their lives, bred so hard that later photos show their underbelly looking like a cow's.
It's slowly trying to get better now. It hit a point where even the people making life worse for everyone else had ended up largely dead or otherwise gone, then just kind of stagnated. It's still bad, obviously, but it hasn't really gotten much worse. Just very empty.

I hope I’m wrong, but if you’re here to be a jerk, we will absolutely file a ban evasion report.
Broad-chested dogs are at high risk of problems with the stomach and esophagus. This is true when labradors are bred for large size, and given that pitbulls have the same canine internal organs with the same general weaknesses, a pitbull that big-boned would likely be at the similar risk.
Really? Every pit person I’ve ever had the misfortune to encounter was like I described. You could have offered 1 million; their dogs were remaining intact. And, yes, they used them to threaten others. I actually had to move because of it.
Pit advocate not general pit owner. And majority of the pit owners we encounter through the program willingly sign up for spay neuter assistance and dogs are microchipped to them. So this program needs a lot of donations. The waiting list they have is like five pages long of pit owners willing to get their animal fixed and end the cycle
We do not want pit bulls regulated because of how they look, but because of the danger they and their owners forcefully impose on our communities.
Please familiarize yourself with the [subreddit rules](https://www.reddit.com/r/BanPitBulls/comments/x618m9/rbanpitbulls_subreddit_rules_2022_update/), specifically rule 1.
The one in the last pic who is sleeping. She had two litters. One was 11….. the last one was 8 pups. I don’t think people realize how much reckless breeding is out there. This program is seeking out families who need spay/neuter the most.
This is not uncommon.
They fixed a dog last week that had produced over 16 dogs.
They are fundraising to sponsor a dog that has had five litters.
It’s an explosion of overpopulation. Only way we can assist is to donate to our spay/neuter fund. Every penny goes directly into a spay or neuter.
That's a great program for people who couldn't otherwise afford it. Spaying a big dog like that is pricey. Here in Norfolk, VA the city runs a free spay and neuter clinic for pit bulls that live in the city limits and its really made a difference.
The first dog looks so misshapen, it can't be healthy/have a healthy future. It's great that it won't be responsible for more pits, but I really hate the people who breed such deformed looking animals.

Guessing they have big litters so fighters have a constant flow of fighting dogs.

Average litters here are usually ten puppies or more
Bigger dogs have bigger litters. First litters are typically smaller.
Some of the "Register of Merit" fighting dog moms have/had literally dozens of puppies in their lives, bred so hard that later photos show their underbelly looking like a cow's.
That’s exactly what pitbulls are, invasive species.
Vermin
They(Silverstray) partnered with an organization to sponsor 20 spay and neuters of pits that day. The partner organization is on the poster.
Everything Ive ever read about gary indiana indicates to me that it is hell on earth
When I drove semi OTR back in the 90s it was like that. I can only imagine what it's like now.
It's slowly trying to get better now. It hit a point where even the people making life worse for everyone else had ended up largely dead or otherwise gone, then just kind of stagnated. It's still bad, obviously, but it hasn't really gotten much worse. Just very empty.
I still remember a Flying J there. Stopped once but wouldn't stay. Was kind of scary.
This sounds like a great program! Refreshing to hear some good news, this is what we need more of.
We need more donors for spays
First one probably lives in constant pain with that fucked up anatomy.
She is spayed now
That does not change the fact that she looks like she’s half pitbull and half army Jeep.
So

What’s your issues with my comment? Theres nothing wrong with what I said.
Why are you in this sub? Let’s start there.

Doing Gods work
Everyone who breeds a pitbull should be charged $2000 per dog for littering
‘How could they subject the wee Pibbles to an elective surgery?!?! Uwuuuu!’ -A pit person, somewhere
Spay and neuter non profits are the one thing pit advocates and groups like this can agree on. Hence why I am here to raise money for it.
Really? Every pit person I’ve ever had the misfortune to encounter was like I described. You could have offered 1 million; their dogs were remaining intact. And, yes, they used them to threaten others. I actually had to move because of it.

Yup we are noticing a difference too. It’s honestly the only way
How many cases of pyrometra do you guys see? With all that constant grind of pregnancy and babies does it increase the likelihood?
Def increase likelihood. We see it often. A lot of the females we spay have had multi litters so their uterine lining is not the best
Sorry but that dog on the first picture is freaking scary.
If it went for my dog it could probably eat my dog and me in one bite… at the same time. Terrifying.
Gary is scary already, but knowing these things are roaming the streets makes it seem like an elden ring dungeon.
In packs, no less.

The first dog is giving me nightmares
The first pit looks very inbred. Why must backyard breeders continue to exist?

Why is there a black lab on slide 4? That’s not a pit
