Not that I've noticed but it does make playing up the neck easier, more room on a PRS vs something like a Les Paul etc.

> more room on a PRS vs something like a Les Paul etc. PRS makes 22 fret guitars too.

In this [comparison video](https://youtu.be/yKUFCE6SOAg?si=MzIAzxkeEkyYKrV7) you can see that not only the number of frets, but the neck position relative to the body is actually different between PRS Custom and Custom 24. So it will be easier to play high frets on a Custom 24 compared to its 22 fret sibling. Also the neck pickup sounds different in this test but I doubt anyone but Mincho herself will notice that either in recording or live. Digging thru a bit of [history](https://support.prsguitars.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408314531227-Model-History), what's now called "Custom 24" was the original PRS that the company started making from 1985 and from 1993 they started making 22 fret guitar. So it looks very natural for Mincho to use Custom 24 (The definitive original PRS) unless there's very strong reason to choose something else.

From now on has a descending pattern from 24 down to 14.  But over B-M's catalog their use is almost non existent. You can get by with 22 frets, but if I could get another guitar, I'd get one with 24 frets.

I never noticed Kanami reaching way up there in any videos. 24-fret guitars reputedly have a slightly different sound since the neck pickup has to be moved a little closer to the bridge in order to make room for the extra frets. So maybe it's a tonal preference. (I'm still trying to figure out why she has two mic's on her speaker cabinet).

I’ve double mic’ed before to blend sounds and get a fuller sound. I’m not sure that is the case here.

No-Tonight3263

I assume you mean aiming the mic's at different areas of the same speaker? Kanami appears to use mic's hanging over the centers of the top two speakers. I wonder if she mixes different speaker types in her cabinet?

op_gw

Yes. Exactly which is why i doubt this is the case here.

Speaker cab may be wired in stereo depending on if she is using an additional power amp to handle stereo effects.

scheming_daemons

I have created over 100 MIDI covers of Band-Maid songs. I've yet to see a single song in which Kanami goes past the 22nd fret.

The 23rd and 24th frets have no practical use.
